Mochi Media is closed for about two years now, what is the purpose of having this mod any longer??

You dont need Mochi Media to have an arcade..

Where to download games then? Never used this before, but users are asking :)

OK, installed and downloaded games from another site.

Issue:

Games are running fine. While submitting score it says:

A System Error has occured. (see pic)

Or it just gives a blank page.

Can you enable both debug modes in both config.php files and let me know what it says?

I did try. But it went so quickly that I couldn't even see the error. I can only see it showed some debug but in the same second, it was gone.

I setup a site just for arcade using vb4
would be nice to use 1 site tho

Could you try doing a screen recording and stepping through the video that way?

I get the blank page when i go to the Arcade link on 5.2.4.

The install seemed clean, with no errors. The arcade modules do show on my site builder.

Can you try enabling both debug modes and see if any PHP errors appear? Also, make sure display_errors is turned on in php.ini :)

When trying to import games:

For automatic game importing to work, your https://tunerheat.com/core/packages/...vbarcade/media directory needs to be readable and writable (chmod 0777).

But it is in media is 777?

New error when adding a game:

Your game needs a game ID, title, height, width, and flash file at a minimum.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you are reporting. That is a message telling you that some information from the previous page was missing.

Can you please provide more information?

I filled in all the required fields. But I'm not sure what they're asking for Game ID? Where can this be located and is there an example?

Also can u recommend websites to use that include game id?

Ok, so I had reported a few weeks ago that i couldnt get any of the arcade modules to show up on the arcade page. I checked into a few sites running this arcade on 5.2.4 boards, and found that all the sites who appear to be running the arcade script successfully, are using a 2 column layout on the arcade page.

I had been using a 3 column layout for my vb5.2.4. I tested this by changing the arcade page layout to a 2 column layout instead.

Results: All the arcade modules now appear as they should on the arcade page as long as i dont try to run a 3 column layout on the arcade page.

all the categories show but you click on anything except ALL its empty.

I'M getting same errors on 5.2.4. Games play fine up until submitting scores. Ive tried the various options for scoring system such as ipb, vb etc..

At least now I can see the arcade and the games are playable.

Any plans on working on getting this VB5 compatible more? The pro version is what I really need, but I won't invest until I know the lite is on the way to being stable.

I assume lite version can't add games?

To be honest, considering the fact that I am still receiving emails about critical bugs and issues I reported over 4 years ago in the Pre-release version of vB5 and how they are just now being cleared out, it would not make sense for us to dedicate significant resources to improving compatibility with vB5.

That's not to say I'll never fix any bugs or anything, I'm just saying it's very unlikely major updates to any of our vB5 products will happen as vB5 is in my opinion a very poorly managed product that has intentionally been made very difficult to develop for.

If we physically cannot produce products that live up to our standards of quality, or even feature parity to the vB4 versions, in spite of reporting these shortcomings during the preview version we were given specifically to report shortcomings, then our hands are pretty much tied.

To put it another way: I know and I understand how frustrating this is to you, but please believe me when I say it's ten times more frustrating for me when I'm faced with support tickets from users like yourself, who just want a working product. Knowing that I can't actually deliver that is incredibly saddening to me.

There should be no limitations on adding games to the Lite version as far as I can remember.

This is such a shame. I feel the pain of the coders who try their best to provide quality modifications for us. I just don't understand the logic of making a product like this less appealing to customers by limiting it's capabilities?

I'll admit my wording was coloured by my own frustrations. The fact is, vBulletin 5's priorities now rest solely in the hands of bean counters. To them, making the product more modification friendly is the tiniest of blips, as their data most likely suggests that the vast majority of forum owners do not install any modifications.

For that reason, it makes more sense to them to focus on trying to make the product contain the same features as the previous version (:p).

That's also the reason why they decided to implement our "Advanced User Tagging" product into the core vBulletin product - a lot of people requested it and voted for it in Jira.

Since our ability to eat is directly tied to our ability to produce quality products, vB5 is not a viable strategic location for our (very limited) resources at this time.

Can the Arcade support HTML5 or will it come? If so, when ?

Flash is out and there are almost no new flash games anymore out where you can adapt for the arcades. I am myself gamecoder where flash games adapts.

Just replying to say I've got the same problem with the weird URL in AdminCP and with the play button not working. Clicking play simply returns me to the home page. Quite frustrating, I can't figure out what the problem is.

Could not get the score system working. Had a working version on vb4. Imported the games to vb5 forum.

Same issue, I got some other problems I was having worked out, but this one eludes me. It almost ruins the point of the mod, since members often like to compare their scores. I asked about the status of the mod on DBTech's website and the owner replied with this;

Hopefully he finds some time soon to get some of the kinks worked out for us poor suckers who thought using VB5 was a good idea.

Seems like the developer, Glenn, hasn't an issue with Vb5 and making things work according to customer request. Although there isn't enough of Glenn to go around at this point.

Aye, I'm well aware of Glenn. I've actually purchased a few of his mods already. :p

I'm going to get him to work on a different project for me in a few weeks, though. So I don't want to bother him with this too. haha

why even bother to develop an arcade that the scores don't work?
vb5 was a total waste of money
nothing about it works right and the arcade doesn't work for sure

Unfortunately we don't control when 3rd party sites shut down, so their scoring systems won't work anymore :(

You need look no further than the amount of modifications released for vB5 to realise that it will never become as popular as vB3 or vB4, sorry to say :(

Only HTML5 games come out again. Almost no new flash games.

We have no plans to update this mod to support HTML5 games at this time, sorry :(

ZIP Games do not import from the AdminCP in vBulletin 5.3.1.

I am very sad to hear that. I come from using vBulletin 3 years ago, I just purchased vb5 as it had some nice features, only to find out the community has not advanced... Hoping one day the community will figure out how to move forward.
