For this forum, I didn't have a backup, it was a project I'd been working on that hadn't gone live yet.

Do you have the functions.php file from the installation files? Just get that and copy it back. That should resolve it.

If you purchased the mod, then I get your point... Otherwise what are you talking about. I do not know 'Dave', but how do you know he isn't fully supporting his customers. This is the free version and for free it is awesome to have any mod! You need to take some responsibility yourself for not backing up your site before you applied new code. This is exactly why I do not make free mods, although I am one that likes to share in on-line communities. Dave doesn't deserve the grief. Just in case you did purchase the mod then I apologize for my behavior here..

When testing out a new mod. Test it on a fresh copy of vbulletin with no other plugins, templates etc. It is one of the reasons you are allowed an off-line copy of the software.

Most likely you have some other modification or plugin that is interfering...

I have not loaded or tested the software myself, so I am no help beyond the basics.

Ok, I just did a fresh install of Vbulletin no other mods installed , i installed vBSocial and I get the same result.

Wow, relax, take a deep breath. The guy might be working his day job. Heck, he might even be taking a vacation. God forbid, maybe he was in some kind of accident. Shit does happen, it’s not just a cool saying. He was here 2 days ago. Honestly, that does not constitute "Leaving you hanging". I am sure the man does have a life, but will return to help, you, me and anyone else who needs it. Why did you not make a backup of your site? This NEEDS to be done before you make ANY changes to your site. Once you go live I recommend making backups once daily if not more often. Even more if you are lucky enough to have your site grow healthy size.

vBulletin 4.2.1 has broken the mod, if you upgraded your site as they had made changes to activity feed which conflicts with our changes to activity feed. I'm looking into it.

Guessing thats what happened.

Its fully supported by the way. If you have emergency questions, post on vBSocial Forums, or message me on skype, as I do not check vb.org forums every day. All my contact info is available including my phone number :)

I've uploaded a newer version.

-Be sure to overwrite all your files on your Ftp.
- Also, I had included functions.php while testing, and forgot to remove it. Make sure you take the 4.2.1 vbulletin functions.php and put it on your server. (I have now removed that from the install file)

I'll continue investigating, but I believe that was your issue.

Doesn't make too much sense if its a default installation. I have this working on numerous boards. Ensure all your files are properly in the right locations

I just installed this on a clean version of 4.2.1 and I get this error:

I installed the Lite version today and I have exactly the same problem as CybertronWizard. The Status editor doesn't show up at all.

Basically members don't have where to type their status. I installed version 2.4 on a vBulletin 4.2.0 (I also use vBSeo).

This happened on my brand new live forum as well!! Now to try to click profile or my name or anything it is a blank white page... I have uninstalled the product... how do I fix this quick!! Please help!

I had the same error when I tried to install version 2.3 on vBulletin 4.2.0
I solved the blank error on profiles this way:
- I uninstalled the product
- I deleted the files with FTP
- I reuploaded the includes/functions.php and includes/class_profileblock
- I ran a Repair/Optimize tables in Admin CP - Maintenance - Repair/Optimize Tables
After that the profiles were back to normal.

I didn't have that problem with version 2.4. Just that the Status editor doesn't show up and the users can't type statuses.
Hope this will be fixed, because I think this is a great mod, with a great potential.

DGrey2011 -- How does one re-upload the includes/functions.pho and includes/class_profileblock ??

I had my vBulletin installed for me, and just learned how to use FTP -- which really opened my world to installing hacks. Now I am going to be scared to.

You should have a zip file with the vbulletin files (the one you downloaded when you bought vbulletin). Just extract that with winrar in a folder on your PC and browse to folder includes and upload the 2 files: functions.pho and class_profileblock on your server in the forums/includes folder.

OMG I don't know what I am doing apparently... I deleted the client script folder because I thought it was the only thing associated with the hack! and now I have really screwed things up!

Whew!!! Ok, reinstalled the clientscript folder -- Thank God I didn't lose any threads or posts! Also reuploaded the files you said to DGrey, am running maintenance right now... all seems fixed! Thank you so much!

All this done for me was make it a Error 500 page had to restore my files..

vBSocial Wall is a mod with great potential. I hope the problem with the status editor not showing up will be fixed. I'm sure many people will be interested in the PRO version once the errors are fixed.

I have tried installing it again and overwriting the .xml several times, but still the status editor doesn't show up at all. After I overwrote it, I even got an error that the user doesn't exist each time when I tried to go on a profile.
