The "Likes Received" in the postbit keep changing downward. I was at four, then 1 the next day. Any thoughts?

rwoscott 08-12-2014 02:33 AM

When I view my User Profile I get the following msg:
"An internal error has occurred and the module cannot be displayed. "

All other users seem to be ok when I look at them. even ones in the same usergroup (Administrators)

My Profile only works when I disable this mod.
A very strange one.

I'm on VB5.1.2PL3.
I've also just installed the latest version of your mod this morning.

DragonByte Tech 08-12-2014 03:12 PM

I'll have to perform additional testing on vB 5.1.2, though I can't guarantee when I'll have time for this.

No Problem Fillip.
It's not a huge issue.

I did notice another user had the same issue last not, but when I went back later it all appeared OK.

Hey Fillip, I know it's obvious that vB5 isn't a priority for you, but many of us really like your stuff and would love to use it. I'd happily pay full price for many of your mods if they actually worked properly with vB5.

Any plans to spend any time on the vB5 stuff? I think there may be more money in it for you than you think.

wotws 11-15-2014 06:36 AM

I purchased this mod for 3 months. If I like I will extend but I cannot open admin settings.

It appears as if you have uploaded the files incorrectly.
Please drag and drop the contents of the upload folder (use Ctrl+A to select all files) to your public_html folder. :)

Hello Dragonbyte,

Hoping you will pull through with a 5.1.4 release.

I do not plan on upgrading after this one but I must say that this last release is the one many are switching to because of the 3 column layout and would be worth your time.

Brad Padgett 11-29-2014 12:44 PM

Hey Dragonbyte again,

I just wanted to say great job. I installed it without any issue and everything is working perfect on Vbulletin 5.1.4

It's successful even with a version this high. Your expert coding will pay off.

Keep it up and let me know if you plan on making a higher release for safe measure.

Thanks.

I have installed the add-on but now I have two like buttons! Is there a way to display one of them?

mdawg 03-31-2015 05:43 PM

I installed on 5.1.6 and installation was fine but nothing works. Click on the buttons and nothing happens. However, when I click on the 0 it does tell me that "No one clicked"

hkwibawa 06-06-2015 03:38 AM

I've installed pro version, but I have one issue about search menu in control panel.

Why It happen? Can u help me to fix this problem??

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

mdawg 06-06-2015 11:14 PM

I have not been able to use this on 5.1.6 or 5.1.7

Brad Padgett 06-08-2015 09:48 PM

I opted out of this for future vbulletin versions.

I wish you would update this to work on 5.1.7

This is not true. We will absolutely be looking at updating this modification to work with vB 5.1.7.

That being said, unfortunately vB5 version updates sometimes take a lot of time, and the percentage of our customers running vB5 is very small, in comparison to vB4 or even vB3. This means that it's harder for us to allocate resources to provide an update for our vB5 mods as opposed to developing new features for the vB3/vB4 versions or indeed other projects.

For this reason, until vB5 is stable enough that these breaking changes do not frequently happen, all our vB5 mods will remain in Alpha status.

Under no circumstances does this mean we are abandoning vB5 or that we do not intend to support newer vB5 versions, it just means that you cannot upgrade vB5 and expect all modifications to work out of the box.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

This means it's trying to alter the node table, which can take a long time.

This means the installer did not complete successfully due to the aforementioned issue. Please re-import the XML file, then click Repair Cache.

You might as well try to get it to work with vb 5.1.8 which I am certain it does not yet, since 5.1.8 is out now. Thanks.

hkwibawa 07-30-2015 02:38 AM

Haiiii..

I wanna ask about Thanks - Feed. I bought the pro version.
I supposed to use it as Top Like report for some contest.
The contest was input in comment post.
If like button clicked in comment post it will appear as 'No Title'. We don't know whats clicked but just know who click the like button.

We need to know what was clicked, such as the title of the post/ comment or the username.

One thing that made me curious is one of our user's seems have title and appear in Thanks-Feed. I try how it can be happen but I'm not found it.

Can you help me explain how to make the title in comment that would appear in Thanks Feed?

I wait for your feedback soon. Thanks before.

I am running this version too. No luck implementing this?

rossgeorge 08-16-2015 08:18 PM

Could you elaborate on this step in the readme, please?

2. CHMOD the following folders to 0777
/core/packages/dbtechthanks/vbactivity_type

Everything else looks really simple :)

So... Does this not work with 5.1.7? I tried installing it and got an error partially through the installation.

It says

"That action could not be completed. Please try again, and if this occurs again please contact the system administrator and tell them how you got this message."

Right after this part.

"Altered Table: vb_node
Updating Version Number To: 3.0.4a5

Altered Table: vb_dbtech_thanks_button"

jkotlowski 10-07-2015 11:49 PM

Is this still being supported? Any chance you'll take suggestions on improvements to the system that can be ported to all the versions for VB3, 4, and 5?

If so...

1. There should be an option to allow the user to type a comment for a like or a dislike. Maybe it can appear on their profile page like a visitor message? Or maybe when you hover over the like or dislike number on the post it can display the names of those who liked/disliked it and hovering over the name can display their comment.

2. An option to limit the amount or likes/dislikes that be given per day. I just managed to get this implemented on VB 5.1.9 and within an hour somebody had went around and gave over 150 dislikes... A lot to the same users. It kind of ruins the value of the system when there's no option for limiting it.

3. Allow the options "given/recieved" to be view able on the profile under their information.(location and such) This would allow for the posbit to be uncluttered some and still allow members to view the information.

4. I don't know if "notifications" exist in VB3 and VB4 like they do in VB5. But in VB5, it's a bit annoying that the "notification" for likes/dislikes is done through a personal message (that you can't customize?) instead of an actual notification that you can dismiss easily. And the option to allow members to disables these notifications altogether would definitely be nice.

JohnPBee 10-22-2015 02:07 PM

I don't think this works with latest vbBulltin however.

mdawg 11-22-2015 02:13 PM

It does not work with vb 5.1.9 as far as I know, I installed but ended up removing it completely.

qoshka 01-25-2016 02:54 PM

getting "access denied" in admincp mod submenu, vb 5.1.10, how to fix?

DragonByte Tech 01-25-2016 03:00 PM

This mod has not been tested with vB 5.1.10 yet, sorry :(

Bridgette 02-06-2016 08:41 PM

5.2 definitely out then. Bummed. :erm:

bigbear83 04-21-2016 09:05 AM

This looks like a pretty nifty little mod and a missing feature in vB5 ... I just took the chance and installed this on 5.2.1 and lo and behold it seems to be working, no errors or nothing ... But as someone mentioned 2 posts up, the buttons are not showing up in the post view. However we can see everything from "Thanks, Likes, Dislikes Received, etc..." But I suppose what good is that if no one can see the actual like, dislike buttons.

And also as with all of your other mods @DragonByte Tech the admincp settings are out of whack and do not save ... we keep getting hit with a message that goes something like this -> "Invalid Page URL. If this is an error and the page should exist, please contact the system administrator and tell them how you got this message."

Anyway, I realize you are busy B with other projects, and this is the least of your concern or priority. But, a very nice mod idea nonetheless.

shimei 04-25-2016 04:55 AM

I'd like to see this work in 5.2.1 +. Definitely a mod I'd consider purchasing!
