Is there a way to set this so only I can use it? At the moment I just need a gallery where I put event pictures. I don't want everyone to use it or for it to show everyone's attachments.

some of these phrases are hard coded in the templates. You can translate them there or create your own phrases in the phrase manager. The phrases of the lightbox are maybe in the javascript code of the lightbox itself, I dont' know. I look tomorrow for this.

It looks like I has mistakenly installed the wrong mod. I just need a gallery that admins and mods can create photo galleries of events. I don't need a gallery for regular members to use.

At any rate [Scandal's] vBGallery uses vBAlbums and Forum Attachments (= default vBulletin's features) and this is one of its benefits. I'll try to keep [Scandal's] vBGallery up to date with new features and compatible with next version of vBulletin.

Maybe develope importers (Photopost/Photolog to Scandal's vBGallery and vB Albums), but currently I can't promise something.

That was during an upload, but like I said, I have a dedicated server so it was no trouble to install imagemagick.

the one thing you should consider is that this isn't a 'pure gallery' solution because it uses VBs built in gallery functions as its basis. I doubt VB will ever create an importer, I don't think they have created importers for any galleries as of yet.

There are also things a pure gallery will give you that this wont, for example mass imports, advanced user functions, format controls such as end user displays etc.

Now to be sure this is a good mod and its premise is sound. What Scandal has done is to create and package all the things VB should have done to VB's gallery functions. You will still have VBs limits, regardless of the packaging however.

I own licenses for Photopost and PP Vbgallery and use them both. In my setup I think the best solution is to install Scandals Vb Gallery mod in addition to a PP Gallery. Here is my personal rational:

1. Vb mobile apps and the VB itself use the built in gallery and replacing it is just not an option with other packages. None offer any deep integration that would do it. Example: Social Group galleries etc. Also, the only image functions on the mobile apps is currently the built in VB gallery function. So you need VBs galleries adn the ebst way to do that is with this mod, Scandals work.

2. My PP and PP VbGallery are for the big galleries on my site that users usually dont upload images into. I am reworking my entire site and galleries but together there are more than 1,000,000 images that will be re-included. There is no way to sanely get that amount of photos or images into VBs built in gallery function.

3. Pure galleries will offer you more ways to display your images. For example I have thousands of 5000px or larger photos and to include them in VB, if it was possible, would mean I would need to change those file limits for the board, not just the gallery.

4. On large, and I mean large, galleries PP is more efficient. It was built for photos and nothing else. So there will always be a larger set of options for gallery owners.

I think there is a place for both in a final forum setup. Scandals gallery is definitely a must have for any VB owner. Like I said, it fixes VB and does a better job of using built in vb gallery functions than VB has ever done. Personally I think they should just hire Scandal and let him work on it from here on out :)

So my site will have a 'Members Gallery' which consists of Scandals mod, a 'Photo Gallery' based on PP Vbgallery to show off the sites larger and more numerous images and finally a separate PP gallery for the purchasing and downloading of larger HQ photos.

Scandal has done a lot of work and I am personally grateful there are programmers like him that do excellent mods like this one. Otherwise awe would all have VB clones with little personalization :)

Scandal should go over there and recode PP
and integrate it to vb

This is a superb mod! I installed it yesterday and it works a treat, maybe with one exception, or maybe it is just me :)

When I create an album, it automatically goes to the default "uncategorized" category. There is no option to choose a category. In admin CP, I can see the albums, but when I click on an album to edit, there is still no option to change the category.

I'm sure I've probably just missed a simple tweak. Any ideas please?

Would it be possible to add permissions allowing us admins to specify which usergroups can add to album? - i.e. people can make their own, as normal but admins can create a album of an event (for exampel) and everyone who went to that event can upload their images to that album..

I think this cannot be part of this mod, because the functions of the albums are vb specific and uses the vB original settings.

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some help on this. I have a problem when I upload an image, say I upload a 1.1MB image, it would upload fine, yet when I inser it in a gallery, it woul dbe around 150KB and the image would be really small and horrible quality.. How would I fix such a thing? ^^'. I have set the maximum heigth and width to 60000 in the usergroup by the way.. so that's not it...

I think this is not a problem of this mod, it's a problem of your album settings in the vB settings.

btw, why are your images more than 1 MB filesize ??? You can have really large images around 200 kB by good quality using jpg-compression.

Search in the album.css template for .albumlist_entry, add the height and set the values of width and height to values, what are good for you. That's the way I did.

Hi Scandal, I wish there is ability to give usergroup permissions to add albums to specific categories.

for example cat. A every one can add his albums to it
but cat. B only admins and moderators can add their albums to it.

Hi scandal, I would like to request the ability to upload pictures using SWFUploader.

This is a wonderful plugin just few issues, attachments with longer names messs up template and do not go to the next line.

How do i organize my nav menu bar so the gallery shows up next to albums, I can do this via a tabs plugin but then how do i disable the default navbar tab for this gallery?

Go to admincp > (left block) Settings > Navigation Manager
... and select Edit for the "Gallery" tab. Then turn it as inactive. :up:
