Are you able to modify this so that it works on my vB 3.6.7?

Yes, maybe I will build a version for 3.X but currently I have no time for this.
If you need it fast I can build it for you but it will cost money.
Send me a P.M. if you interesting.

Send me a URL to your forum and turn the plugin active. I'll check it.
I reminds you that current version doesn't support categories that act as forums.
It will be fixed in next version.

Update about 1.5 version:
I posted that I will release the version after some days but it didn't happen.
I've decided not release this version till I fix the compatibility for IE7 and also figure out how to disable the mod in low resolutions.
Anyway, it will take time till I release this version which the most important bug that it fix is the compatibility with categories that act as forum.
For anyone who need this fix, can contact me and I'll send him a beta version.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

RedPoint 01-29-2012 02:23 PM

PM is out - please check - Thanks

RedPoint 01-29-2012 03:26 PM

Sorry, i disable the addon - i have over 100 users on board, i cant let the addon on. Sorry

ALBCODERS 01-29-2012 09:06 PM

I wouldn't stress the IE7 issue, unless you really want to have a go at it.

vBulletin will be ending support for IE6 and IE7 (thank god, finally)

I agree about IE6, but IE7 still have a huge amount of users that still use it.

I just want let you know that in few days I will release a new version (1.5), change log:
  • optimization of the code
  • no more one column with 50% width - fixed completely
  • the hack works now with categories which act as forum
  • rss / subscribe icons no more overflow the text
  • due to the css changes, the new version doesn't support IE 7 and lower (the mod will automatically disabled in those versions) - will be fixed in next version
Maybe will be include in this version
  • option to disable the mod automatically in low resolutions
Unfortunately, the gap "bug" still not fixed.
As I suggest before, for now re-order the categories and set side by side categories which have similar amount of forums to avoid the gap.

Great! Waiting for this update, thanks for this nice mod!

chatpalace24 02-05-2012 07:30 AM

Well RellecT it works great. Easy Installing and nice looking. Thanks for that work

How close are you at working out the 'gap' issue mate? Should we expect it in a distant future update? Im not being patronizing, i dont know how hard it is lol. weeks, month?

Plus i was getting a gap in the background image of the category header, had to solve it by creating a description for all categories. Just a heads up. Looks decent now though: www.literecords.com.

I already fixed the gap issue, I just have to finish some minor things and I will release an update. it can take 2-3 days.

Im having a problem having the mod disabled for different styles. I only had 1 style installed, i installed the mod, then to have members choose between single and double columns i download the style, re-uploaded it with a different label. I went into the ACP and highlighted the style i wanted the mod disabled with, save. Not disabled. I disable the mod, highlight the style to be disabled then enable again, still same.
URL: www.literecords.com

Ricsca 02-10-2012 03:58 PM

Is possibile have two columns only certain sections?

Not sure why it doesn't work for you.
Wait for version 1.5 (will be released in a few days) and see if it works for you.
If not, let me know.
If you want check a beta version of 1.5 and not wait to the final release, send me p.m.

Currently this mod split only to 2 column.. there is no option to choose 3 column.
about the other question, as I said before, I've fixed that bug. I will release an update soon.
It's a bit delayed because I change the way I used to split the categories, I rebuild the mod to fix the gap issue.
I have to fix a minor bug with the order of the categories and that is all.
Should not take much time.

rellect 02-13-2012 04:35 PM

gap issue finally fixed, new update 1.5 released.

wayne.richards@ 02-13-2012 04:59 PM

Not really right for my forums as it looked too cluttered but works a treat now updated! GREAT JOB!

kfyonur 02-13-2012 06:11 PM

it is not working.sidebar is slipping down.

datoneer 02-13-2012 06:43 PM

You must have same number of forums in all categories to look good

@RellecT
VB 4.1.2
I was running version 1.4 and got the notice there was an upgrade. I took out the old and installed the new. It's the cat's meow now. Some of my themes don't look so good with the split columns so being able to turn it off on those makes this version far better.
I did notice one thing though. Some of the themes would take changing the spacing right away while others would ignore a change. I found by going in to the maintenance functions and running update styles fixed that.
Nice work!

As I said, currently you can't choose which cats to split.
it already suggested by other members to add this option.
I'm working on it.

Good one , 1.5 works a treat, thank you

FreshFroot 02-29-2012 07:10 PM

What I recommend is also having an option to make the forums look like this:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=228484

So either you can have it your way with 2 categories split side by side.

Or

Have one category, but the forums are split side by side.

setishock 03-04-2012 02:22 AM

I had to put this one on hold for a bit. It's still installed just disabled.
I'd like to see if there could be added which category's go in which column. I added a rather long forum section and no matter how I arraigned the forums in the forum manager one of the smaller forums winds up under the long one throwing the whole thing out of balance. I'd like to have the Pics n' Wik's on the right and the rest on the left.
Any chance of getting that?

Sorry, you can't do that in the current version.
I consider add this option in next versions.

setishock 03-04-2012 10:41 PM

Cool beans. I look forward to that option.
It's still a cool mod though.
