Getting a very odd error with this again on our test forum. After updating to 4.1.9, this message appears on the top of any CMS article. It vanishes when this addon is disabled.

Code:

Thanks again to our beta testers, the gold version has proven quite stable!
Nonetheless, the few bugs reported have all been fixed, and vBArcade v1.1.0 is now available!

Notable updates:
Improved legacy IE support
Benign import error fix
Postbit trophy fixes
Optional footer ad for lite
Improved guest phrase use
New code and template hooks
Nice screenshots

Also now available is a free optional vBArcade: Jackpots and Prices addon! This bridges any points hack you have installed to allow you to charge to play games in your vBArcade, and build jackpots that are awarded to the champions!
Includes in-depth integration with vBCredits II Deluxe, but is not required.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=275532.

Thanks to some of the IE fixes, I am much closer to vB3.x support - it works perfectly, just needs some vB3 compatible styling. Look for that in the next update!

Have you already imported many pages of mochi games? Has the import gotten slower the more you import? Or is this the first time you are importing from mochi and you are getting this error?

Here are the current reasons why scores might not be submitting on your site:
  • The permissions for you and that game have not been set to Score
  • The game has been set to not accept scoring
  • The game has been set to the wrong scoring system
  • Your game session has not submitted the score
  • Your .htaccess file has not been altered correctly (usually indicated by errors during product import)
  • Your arcade is set to archive your non-best scores, and that was not your best score
The first bullet is most likely, the next two are USUALLY set automatically, MOST games will have a well-informed score submission time (though I've seen games that send without telling you, and some that don't actually send despite claiming it), the fifth bullet will usually throw installer errors/messages, and the last bullet should at least show some scores from somewhere being saved.

Do only specific games, or specific scoring systems, or all games not save scoring for yourself, specific usergroups, or everyone?

If you have checked all of those and think its all correct, please PM me an admin login and FTP so I can look into it.

gamerscms 12-19-2011 10:30 PM

Im not sure why it does not work when using the advert crazy arcade games.

I have moved onto V3arcade which works fine and support seems fine to me.

Not really sure what you ment about good luck finding support elsewhere, i have a working arcade system and does not require the author to make edits to my files.

Quote:

and wish you luck with support if you decide to try elsewhere.
I would say that is a perfect addon :P

I think you need to tone down your silly comments like that and you may see yourself winning MOTM but not this time around .

I wish you the best of luck with YOUR arcade system :)

Darkwaltz4 12-19-2011 11:01 PM

Thanks for trying it at least, as well as getting back to me, and sorry I could not guess my way to the solution to what the problem was for you :/ the description is simply not enough if I nor others can reproduce it.

As explained before, I meant good luck getting support in general if you are unwilling to allow anyone personal access to your site, not that I was the only person willing to provide support. I apologize if you thought that.

kenp 12-20-2011 01:01 AM

I have imported a few games but I have been getting the error from the beginning. I would say about 50-75% of the time. Also I apologize about stating the bug for ie for the reduction of screen size when attemping to play and not getting back to you sooner. I hadn't seen that you replied.

Darkwaltz4 12-20-2011 04:01 AM

I am working on the screen size bug in ie9.

Have you already imported dozens/hundreds/? of mochi games already?

30 seconds is usually plenty for php, unless you have some sort of network issue with mochi responding to you, which I can only imagine if you have already downloaded many mochi games. Otherwise, extending that will require your host to make a php.ini edit.

kenp 12-20-2011 04:19 AM

I have downloaded about 150 so far. I just switched hosts today. I will check it out after the migration and hopefully it will be resolved by doing this. The host company that I was with are horrible. Thanks for the reply on the matter

glen290 12-20-2011 01:18 PM

Having an issue with Mochi games not saving scores locally, so even though the jackpot goes up per play, its not able to be won..

Darkwaltz4 12-20-2011 02:20 PM

Do you mean locally as in localhost? If so, mochi cant ping your scores back to localhost, since its not a global address. If you dont mean localhost, are you sure youve entered your mochi id and secret in your vbarcade settings? Have you set up your site's address with mochi? Is your site behind a password prompt?

glen290 12-20-2011 02:30 PM

No idea what you mean with localhost, but in know that the mochi id and secret are there, my site is set up with mochi from when I had the v3 arcade installed.
I have a game on my site that you have on dragonbyte-tech.com and it saves the scores on there, but not on mine.

Reinier324 12-20-2011 04:11 PM

The scores don't seem to update/send, Im using Mochi games.

Darkwaltz4 12-20-2011 04:38 PM

Here are the current reasons why scores might not be submitting on your site:
  • The permissions for you and that game have not been set to Score (as opposed to Play or Record)
  • The game has been set to not accept local scoring
  • The game has been set to the wrong scoring system
  • Your game session has not submitted the score
  • Your .htaccess file has not been altered correctly (usually indicated by errors during product import)
  • Your arcade is set to archive your non-best scores, and that was not your best score
  • Your site is behind a server password prompt
  • Mochi: you do not have your publisher id or secret filled in
  • Mochi: you are running the arcade from localhost
ALMOST ALWAYS is it the first bullet, check that first, the next two are USUALLY set automatically, MOST games will have a well-informed score submission time (though I've seen games that send without telling you, and some that don't actually send despite claiming it), the fifth bullet will usually throw installer errors/messages, and the sixth bullet should at least show some scores from somewhere being saved. Usually games can't post through your password prompt, and especially not if you are using mochi, which sends scores from their remote servers without your forum session.

Do only specific games, or specific scoring systems, or all games not save scoring for yourself, specific usergroups, or everyone?

If you have checked all of those and think its all correct, please PM me an admin login with arcade access so I can look into it.

I've been replying to you via PM..

WDS 12-23-2011 03:31 PM

How do I install the games?

Darkwaltz4 12-23-2011 03:41 PM

We have a documentation section dedicated to the use of the Import Games section here for you: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/docs/...port_games.htm

tidus78 12-27-2011 01:16 AM

Marked installed,no problem on my 4.1.8.

dszuecs 12-30-2011 01:43 AM

I cant get the scores to be safed.
#i got the ".htaccess" error while installing, managed to get it running after editing my .htaccess.
#i use VBSEO and already have several rewrite rules.

Are there any known problems with VBSEO?
Thankx

doctorsexy 01-02-2012 10:17 AM

Be nice to have a cms widget for this..... and can the games pannel be centered its all to the left....:D

mIQe 01-04-2012 07:06 PM

I installed this and started to download games. After a while when I checked the arcade page I noticed the whole forum layout had been destroyed. So I looked at other pages in the forum and all of them were messed up.

What happened was that the Header and Footer got broken and everything ended up on top of each other on the left hand of the screen.

So I uninstalled the Arcade and the forum returned to normal.

Anyone got any suggestions?

The code for vbarcade needs to be positioned within the vbseo code in your .htaccess - can you PM what you are currently using, and I will reply back with it arranged so it will work for you.

Unfortunately, without any screenshots or anyone else reporting it, I cant diagnose the problem. Can you install it again, check if it messes up your layout, if it does, take a screenshot and DISABLE the addon and post it here for me, thanks!

Any one have any luck with the i.e. screen fix yet?

SpikeSaunders 01-12-2012 09:54 PM

Hmm. Hey guys, I recently rebuilt our forums, and installed DBTech vBArcade on vb 4.0.9. however when viewing some profiles it outputs the following error that ties to the arcade mod. By viewing profiles I mean from their posts/who is online boxes.

Every game was imported off ibProArcade.

Everything else works flawlessly making this an excellent addition!

Code:

Database error in vBulletin 4.1.9:

Invalid SQL:

                FROM games_list
                WHERE gid IN (0Array);

MySQL Error  : Unknown column '0Array' in 'where clause'
Error Number  : 1054

Is 0Array a typo maybe? It is only happening sporadically it seems, and I haven't been able to curbtail if it's just the 'champions' or not.

Hi Darkwaltz, I was reading through your documention and your "Manage Permission" feature sounds like it will help fix the problem I am having here.

Can you confirm that it would fix this issue and also is the permission manager a pro only feature?

Scans007 01-17-2012 05:02 PM

Anyone know why some games scores would be submitted and others wouldn't. So like archery submits a score fine, but then like bonnyballs just always reports a 0 no matter what the score is.

The permissions for you and that game have not been set to Score (as opposed to Play or Record)
- How do you set it to score - I've looked everywhere (I've found this - and I have all and any games open to all users - and set to Score) So now 2 outta 3 are eliminated on why I can't submit a score on some games.

The game has been set to not accept local scoring
- How do you set this

The game has been set to the wrong scoring system
- What is the right scoring system? (I assume the default it chooses is correct - IE ibProAcrcade) NOTE - I tested switching the scoring to V3 arcade and it froze the game - so I know this setting is at least right =)

Feel free to go look - http://www.firefightcompany.com/arcade.php

doctorsexy 01-18-2012 09:21 AM

Think some games just dont score.. have you tryed the same game from a diferent site..
that some times works

That error is not related to vBArcade code - looks like ibproarcade. You should at least disable it.

Manage Permissions in vBArcade does take the secondary usergroups into account, and usergroup support is available in the lite version :)

Local scoring (and its correct implementation) is up to the individual game. Also, the importers usually will select the right properties for you.

If you've gone through the list here and you think you have everything covered, send me a PM with an admin login and I will diagnose further for you:

Slayerz 01-22-2012 12:43 PM

I uploaded tar files to the proper directory, yet it doesn't show when I go to import.
Read your documentation, can't you explain how to mass install games via ftp.

Darkwaltz4 01-23-2012 03:26 PM

Go to admincp > vbarcade > import games

The Upload Games section will tell you the correct folder you can place all tar files into, as well as a note to make sure it is chmod 777. When you submit it, should list the games from within them.

If you want to verify your folder is correct and the files you are using are correct, upload it through the single file upload, and it should at least find the game, or display errors about the folder not being properly readable/writable.

If no error and no game, send me a PM and I will check the tar file you are using - ive run into bad tars in the past.

Munch98 01-24-2012 11:47 AM

I'm having issues with the scoring too.

I've noticed that under the score section it's putting playtime.. Any ideas why?

GhostHunter2010 02-12-2012 10:19 AM

DragonByte Tech i like most of ur mods but there is a small problem wich im sure most of users dont like it to much lol and that problem is the copyrights they are to big an they show every page will be great if u can reduce them make it smaller and show it only in 1 page like most other mods.. this is my opinion anyways.. and for that reason i havnt install none of ur mods :D
