Hi;

I've got this active, and installed properly, and I post something to create a thread.
I opened up an alternate browser window, and loaded that same thread. I posted a reply, and quickly changed to the alternate browser window and no update.

I'm running on Mac OS 10.7 with Firefox.

stamos2003 09-07-2011 04:02 PM

seems to work fine but slowing down bigger forums.
server load increased a bit since the install.

What server load was added and how large and active is the forum you mention?

To be making such a claim, you can't be a programmer. Don't talk about something you know nothing about, friend.

What's with the attitude? I'm trying to help you program better so your mod works better with all boards instead of just yours. If it even does, seems others are experiencing the same bugs I am.

Why not help me create that support account on your forum and you can take a look for yourself before you start assuming something is wrong with my board which you know nothing about? Ok, friend?

KHALIK 09-13-2011 02:41 AM

It is NOT working on Firefox but on IE and Chrome is working fine.

Any ideas why it is not working on Firefox, does anymore have a solution?

Well I must be a complete moron.

Quote:

[Upgrade Instructions for 1.6 to 1.7]

1. Import the product-extended_gratitude Xml.
Where do I locate the product-extended_gratitude.xml?

I have three xmls in the folder.

They are:

product-extended_databases-1.2.1
product-extended_settings-1.1
product-live_thread-1.7

Sorry, I just don't get it.

In Omnibus 04-10-2012 03:15 PM

The product "extended-gratitude.xml" is not in the zip file.

Help would be appreciated.

Sorry I forgot to add this Xml to the zip file! It is now included. :)

KHALIK 04-11-2012 02:10 AM

Does this needs to be imported as well?

product-extended_settings-1.1

Under instructions you have;

Code:

[Installation Instructions]

1. Upload the contents of the upload/ folder to your forum root.

2. Import the product-extended_gratitude Xml.

2-1. Import the product-extended_databases Xml.

2-2. Import the product-live_thread Xml.

BadgerDog 04-25-2012 11:51 AM

I already have another Lancerforhire add-on mod that has the following products installed .... :)

Quote:

LancerForHire - Extended Navigation Libraries 1.4
LancerForHire - Extended Session Libraries 1.2
LancerForHire, LLC. - Extended Gratitude Libraries 1.1
I don't want to screw up what I have installed, but want to make sure I upload any other products needed to make THIS mod work....

Any feedback would be appreciated .. :)

Regards,
Doug

Sorry I missed your post Doug. These libraries that are shared across my different add-ons and if you've already installed such libraries from another one of my add-ons, you can skip the ones that say they're already installed. When you import the core product, it will let you know if you have any library versions that are out of date, in which case you can overwrite. In most cases though, it will be a smooth install with no notices.

Under settings, under 'JQuery Library Path', it's set as "./clientscript/jquery/jquery-1.4.4.min.js", but then says 'Error: You did not enter a valid value for this setting.'

I don't know what to do about this.

Paste this in:

Thanks; that made the error message go away.

Here's the new problem: Despite following instructions as far as I can tell, and despite selecting the boards I wanted it to work in... it doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure why? Is there anything I should look for?

Please PM me your forum URL.

vbresults 05-08-2012 01:53 PM

A fix was introduced in 1.7.1 for people using URL rewriting. Prior to 1.7.1, if you had URL rewriting enabled, an error would be generated in the markup that would prevent the add-on from functioning.

i added this add on on my forum (http://www.digitalsportscene.net/forum/forum.php) and it doesn't seem to be working.. followed all the instructions and its in my admincp but its still not working.

Do you see a forum block in the admin cp? If so, is the forum side bar enabled? If not, did you accidentally select upgrade when installing the mod?

It was disabled. I might of accidentally selected upgrade but to be honest I have no clue to be honest.

Sorry for the newb questions but what would I do from here? Create new blocks?

vbresults 06-27-2012 04:14 PM

Edit -- I think I confused this with another add-on of ours -- sorry! Send me a PM and we'll get this sorted out. :)

Running this on 4.2...

Lots of double posts and stuff. Is there a combination of quick reply preferences and what not that will fix it or is the mod simply buggy/broken?

That is odd, I haven't heard of such an issue from anyone else; what add-ons do you have installed?

BadgerDog 08-08-2012 12:11 PM

Installed with thanks for testing on vBulletin 4.1.3pl5 ... :)

Selected a single forum to test with and activated it using AdminCP options.

To activate live thread functionality, simply visit the last page of a thread.

I checked a thread in the forum designated, but I don't see anything anywhere to activate? To be honest, I have no idea what I'm supposed to see. :D

Regards,
Doug

Edit: Bottom footer does show 2 add-ons Copyright ? 2012 LancerForHire, LLC., which includes the Paid Registration one which I'm also running. So, I assume that the Live Thread mod is installed properly.

Another edit: Just after installing this, I started receiving emails from Hoffi's Check 4 Hacking mod warning: "123974 Check 4 Hacking 11:22, 8th Aug 2012 Infects found: pluginlist". I have uninstalled this mod temporarily until this gets sorted out. Maybe a false positive, but I didn't want to take any chances.

Hoffi's Mod..

Hoffi's Mod..

It updates threads replies automatically without the need to refresh. The message you see is a false positive; the add-ons use encoding for the copyright message.

I don't know how to tell Hoffi's Check 4 Hacking mod to stop sending emails if it's related to the "Live Topic" mod?

So, I've un-installed the primary XML file and removed the JS file.

Unfortunately, I'm still receiving emails from Hoffi's Check 4 Hacking mod, which indicates to me that they are emanating from the remaining Extended Libraries plugins. I would remove them all as well, but as you know, I'm using your "Paid Registration" mod which requires some of them, but I'm not sure which ones specifically are used for it.

I know that whatever ones they are, were NOT triggering Hoffi's Check 4 Hacking mod to think they were a hack, so can you tell me which extended libraries I can safely remove without affecting your "Paid Registration" mod , so I can get myself back to a pre-install condition before I started with the "Live Topic" forum mod?

Thank you for any feedback ...

Regards,
Doug

ps: I've also posted a note over in Hoffi's mod to see if there's a way of excluding your mod from triggering his hack prevention mod.

Perhaps this Hoffi person can add some sort of exclusion system but I am confident he won't add such a thing that works on one add-on.

You will not be able to get rid of the messages by plucking out dependencies; the add-on that is triggering this is the extended gratitude libraries add-on and nothing else. That add-on is a required dependency for all of our free add-ons.

Perhaps that's what's changed....

We paid for the "Paid Registration" mod which was installed be fore we installed this "Live Thread" mod, so I assume that we ended up overlaying a paid dependency file library with a free one, that's now causing Hoffi's Check 4 Hacking mod to react...
