It's already default for this mod

If you changed it and forgot:

Code:

http://buypoe.com/external.php?do=rss&type=newcontent&sectionid=1&days=120&count=10
and switch buypoe.com with your site

This didn't work for me, I don't have this mod installed.

What I am asking is how I turn my CMS headlines into an RSS feed?

Figured it out, needed to go to Admincp -> Options -> External Data Provider and then turn on RSS Syndication.

You might want to update your OP to reflect this to make it easier!

Now it looks like I will be able to use ForumSlider :)

I have a simple question for begining.

1) I manage to install it after the latest updates. A huge thanks for Dave.

2)I change the URL to my home URL from the XM L file but still cannot get my pictures.

3) IS it possible to keep standart 3-4 picture for life and change them when i want ?

Looking forward for your replies

g0dfather1984 06-14-2011 04:22 PM

Working great. One question, is there a way to center it on the forum?

Thanks for your time.

If your getting a magicpie error, most likely you have your forum set to UTF-8. Switch your forum to ISO- by going to mange languages > edit settings

No, this is a dynamic slider, and it works to your advantage SEO wise by consistently adding your latest images rather than having static. Having a static page as your home page is really bad for SEO. If you see images in your RSS, than they should appear in your slider.

The ultimate version allows you to make the slider as wide as you want with images scaled.

Try going through our source files and changing all instances of ISO-8959-1 to ISO-8959-9

And see if that works.

khalled 06-16-2011 11:59 AM

You must use an absolute URL + the rss extension.

Also your forums must be in ISO not UTF.

I have noticed not all my RSS updates have images with them even if the CMS article has an image in it. Any idea why and how this would affect the product?

The images need to be added to the thread before its' created, or it won't be in the rss. Editing threads doesn't update the rss feed.

MagicThemeParks 06-19-2011 11:49 AM

Does this work with 3.8x or is there a 3.8x version planned?

daveaite 06-25-2011 01:55 AM

It may work, it's untested with 3.8x

I have the ultimate version but this would make a nice improvement to this version too.

Slider next and Pause (I would like this one)
or
back pause forward

daveaite 06-28-2011 12:53 AM

We'll look into it. We're also developing something new at the moment to compliment Forumslider and Sidekick Slider.

clutchthese 06-29-2011 01:22 AM

I would love to know how to install this under the navbar centered. I don't really like it within a php widget. :( i've paid the $59, would you be able to explain how to do this?

Otherwise, i love this mod! 5-stars for sure!

daveaite 06-29-2011 01:23 AM

I'll create a guide - you should be able to see it at Forum-skins soon

Refer to this:

http://forum-skins.com/tutorials/how...-of-your-site/

clutchthese 06-29-2011 05:29 AM

That didn't work for me. It's still not how i want it to look. I want it right in the middle of the page centered under the navbar. I don't want any border around it (i want to keep the border around the rest of the widgets.)

clutchthese 06-30-2011 01:09 AM

I've disabled this until there are instructions to add it as a stand alone slider... not in a widget.

I'd like it to be placed in the exact same place as the site below. The only reason i didn't use the slider in the website below, is you can't link an RSS feed to populate the pictures.

If anyone can help me, i'll pay them. Thanks.

daveaite 06-30-2011 02:12 AM

Ah very nice, I'll have an answer/updated tutorial to you by the end of the week. I'll have to tinker with it :)

No worries.

sweetpotato 06-30-2011 04:18 PM

Can you support UTF-8 language?

CoZmicShReddeR 07-01-2011 03:26 PM

Is this just a RSS block I tried to use the lite version no images were showing all it did was link me and all my members to some page where is says it costs $60 a month for the Ultimate version? Did I do something wrong or is this just a Advertisement mod for your RSS display block? Am confused... Oh and I added one of my forums to the options...

And whenever I figure this out and I want the Ultimate version and nothing more what are you charging for it? All I see is some monthly fee thing which I want nothing to do with..

Thanks!
