Was the importer for Inferno ever completed? Where can I find that? Thanks

akoj 05-31-2011 01:39 AM

Also-does either the free or paid version have pre-made quizzes that can be installed to get it started?

Sorry, it's not done yet. I'm working on it, hope to have a copy to try out by tomorrow.

It doesn't come with any pre made quizzes.

Try reuploading the files and installing again. It sounds like some of the files didn't get uploaded.

I just added an inferno quiz importer in the 1.1.1 zip.
It's in the do not upload/importers folder
Just put the file into your admincp directory and browse to it. It will import all the categories and quizzes. If you run it again it will remove all the imported categories and quizzes and start over.
Delete the file once you are done.

It hasn't been thoroughly tested so test it out first and make sure you backup :)
let me know if you run into any problems.

Hello,

First of all, great job with the Quiz, it's really professional.

I want to import from Inferno's quiz and I get the following error:
Quote:

Database error in vBulletin 4.1.3:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT make FROM vb_garage_makes WHERE id = '';

MySQL Error : Table 'mydb.vb_garage_makes' doesn't exist
Error Number : 1146
Request Date : Wednesday, June 8th 2011 @ 10:58:01 AM
Error Date : Wednesday, June 8th 2011 @ 10:58:01 AM
Script : http://mysite/admincp/vbquiz_inferno_quiz_import.php
Referrer :
IP Address : myip
Username : myuser
Classname : vB_Database
MySQL Version : 5.5.13
seems like you put the wrong file in the package.

Another issue, I want to create a quiz that can only be taken once per user. How can I do that? Didn'f find that option anywhere and it will continue keep allowing me complete the same quiz after I did it for the first time.

Thanks.

EDIT: I just downloaded again and now it's the right file there. I just realized also that for putting a maximum retry per user I need to buy the PRO edition so that's what I'm going to do.

Yes, that was an old file that accidentally was included. Let me know if the import works and if I need to make any changes to it :)

Was really looking forward to this quiz mod, but left a little disappointed, unless Im missing something.

All of the quizes to me seem in some way multiple choice, or at least have the correct answer there infront of them where all members need do is select the correct answers.

I was hoping it would be possible to have a quiz where members had to type the answer.

e.g making a logo quiz where members have to name the logo from a picture, would be very easy with the use of google as they would just need to search the choices in front of them.

am I missing something or is it not possible to create a quiz where members either know it or they dont and need to type the correct answers (matching the answer submitted by the quiz creator), without the member using google or lucky guess work

If you create a double ended or variety quiz with a double ended question, you can use only the first question box and it will be a straight fill in the blank type of question.
The doubled ended is text only but it does translate bbcode so you can enter image bbcode to display an image.

It is the first version of the quiz mod and we are open to suggestions so if you think of something that would make it a more robust mod in your eyes let us know :)

Dylan

fevredsuk 06-10-2011 03:59 PM

thanks for that I'll give it ago later,

but in future versions (lite :)) I would suggest a normal question and snswer quiz where members type the correct answer. Also with the ability to have a picture in the question.

an extra for pro would be the ability for the quiz creator to add near answers along with the correct answer

eg if the answer was "moonpig.com" and a member typed "moonpig" they would get the message "nearly" instead of incorrect

Mark4865 06-13-2011 11:29 AM

Anyone running this in 4.1.4 yet

fevredsuk 06-13-2011 07:14 PM

Hi, is it possible for members to see the answers once they have taken a quiz

It will be in the next version but I believe that will be a pro only feature unfortunately.

Hi there.

First of all:
Thank you for this great mod.

Just got a question:
Did I get it right that the light version has all features listened but they don't work? I'm talking about retaking a quiz for example.

//edit
Is there a more detailled statistic option planned? At the moment there is just an option "Current Entries" that's going to get pretty
long on that side.

Lol, two very important parts of a quiz. The questions and the answers

such a shame were going to have to pay to get the other half of the mod.

I understand the need to for extra features to be added in the pro version. But this is like you have released half a mod and members need to pay for the other half.

The Lite version of our mod has more features than any current or, to the best of my knowledge, previous quiz mod created for vBulletin so i'm not really sure how you can call it half a mod - unless every other quiz mod on vB.org was also half a mod =P

With the lite version, the admin can't specify the retry maximum per their usergroup, the users can retake quizzes though.

We will be adding more statistics in future releases.

Iain

True there are lots of features, far more than any other quiz mod, and I agree its the best. but members take a quiz and they like to see what they got right and wrong etc.

I am just suggesting the the two fundamental parts of a quiz the questions and the answers should be in the lite version.

Halfhidden 06-29-2011 08:29 PM

I have to be honest when I say that the lite version is worth paying for, so getting it free with great support is fantastic.... so I'm looking forward to jumping straight to the paid version :)

Sorry about that. Try putting these two files into your dbtech/vbquiz/actions directory and try again.

Oke, I have put in your new files, and when I start now: vbquiz.php?do=quizcreate, I get a blank screen ;)

I tried this solution to solve the same problem I have and I got this:

Quote:

Warning: require_once([path]/dbtech/vbquiz_pro/hooks/dbtech_vbquiz_create_complete.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/dbtech/vbquiz/actions/quizcreate.php(140) : eval()'d code on line 4

How do we roll this version back to something stable and clean up residue tables mess it might have created? Thanks .. :)

Please, give Dylan the time for making a solution :)

Really sorry about that. If you edit the plugin, Build Quiz Type List
and change
PHP Code:

if (file_exists(DIR '/dbtech/vbquiz/hooks/dbtech_vbquiz_create_complete.php'))

to
PHP Code:

if (file_exists(DIR '/dbtech/vbquiz_pro/hooks/dbtech_vbquiz_create_complete.php'))

It will fix that.

I'm not positive about rolling it back. You can try to upload the old files, edit the product to be version 1.1.0 and then import the 1.1.1 xml product and it should work.
