What url are you ending up with?
And are the avatars stored in the database or filesystem?

Sephentos 01-03-2011 02:00 AM

And again, a nice mod.
I love your mods, Thanks for sharing all of your great work!

They are stored in the filesystem

tattooz 01-04-2011 12:27 AM

I can not seem to get it to update. I have it set at daily and even tried to run the cron manually. When I check the logs it says "Not time to update spotlight userid yet"

Any ideas?

Did you have it set to weekly before? It might of put a future time in the field. Just go to the settings
ACP->Settings->Options->Spotlight General Options
At the bottom is the Spotlight Next Cron Run,just set that to 1 and run the scheduled task.

Dylanblitz 01-04-2011 07:51 AM

nevermind

I think I have it figured out. I was linking the images from the bb url and the images are served from the home url. I'm going to fix it and release a new package, should work after that.

That worked. I set it to hourly before I ran the cron manually and this is what the log says " Updated settings to spotlight userid 532, set next runtime to 1294156297"

Will it run hourly?

That time is 3:51pm GMT today, so if that was an hour from when you ran it then yes :)
The scheduled task will run every hour and log an entry, so you can check back in a couple hours and read the log to see if it keeps running.

DragonByte Tech 01-06-2011 01:18 AM

Few small changes with 1.6.0

gamerzhut 01-06-2011 06:32 AM

After installing the updated version, the user's avatar isn't showing. Also, I know this has nothing to do with your mod but, I'm using this for Member of the Month and I would like to be able to add a clickable link in the profile field. Do you know how I can do this? My site is, http://www.simming-glimmerstyle.com/forum/forum.php

Are you talking about how to add a custom field to vB or how to add a custom field that you have in vB to the mod?

Try with the 1.6.1. I was fixing the filesystem custom avatar and I messed up the other types. It should work now.

Taurus1 01-06-2011 09:58 PM

Thanks. It still shows without the avatar though. Is there something I need to do to refresh it or so?

Is it the site in your sig link? I see the avatar on the user that's listed in the MOTM box.

That is a different mod. Look in my sidebar for this one.

I am having a problem getting the cron to update daily. I have it set to daily in the options and my scheduled task is set to 00 0 * * * Which should be "every day of every month at 0 hour and 0 minutes" But for some reason, it does not update......

Any ideas?

Did you modify the scheduled task?

In the settings what do you have set for the field
Spotlight Next Cron Run

Also, if you look at the scheduled tasks log, you should see entries in there for the spotlight script

If you open dbtech/spotlight/core/class_fetchuser.php
on line 162 replace
Code:

$spot_avatar_file = $this->registry->options['homeurl'] . "/" . $this->registry->options['avatarurl'] . "/avatar" . $this->registry->options['dbtech_spotlight_rnd_userid'] . "_" . $rand_user_data['avatarrevision'] . ".gif";
with

Code:

$spot_avatar_file = $this->registry->options['avatarurl'] . "/avatar" . $this->registry->options['dbtech_spotlight_rnd_userid'] . "_" . $rand_user_data['avatarrevision'] . ".gif";
does that fix it?
I was checking out what the vB code does for avatars and I think I'm doing some overkill which is screwing it up for different types of setups.

My avatar URL in the sidebar is pointing to forumhome

http://www.clevelandsportsforums.com/forums/forum.php. I made the change you mention in the quoted post, but it didn't help. Avatars are stored in the file system, and I downloaded the latest version.

Help? I'm at a loss...

The avatar url for the webmaster is
http://www.clevelandsportsforums.com...sc/unknown.gif

It looks like you have something that sets that as the default if the user doesn't have an avatar? I saw several users that showed that image for the avatar and profile image.

The one user I saw that had an avatar looks like it's stored in the db.

Glad we got it worked out.
I'll make sure the changes are in the next release so it matches the vB type path and we shouldn't run into this problem again :)

http://www.4webhelp.net/us/timestamp.php

Go to that page and put in the time for tonight at 11:55pm for your servers timezone. It will give you a timestamp. Just put that into the next cron run field. The script will check hourly, but it will not change anything until midnight.

Thanks but what it gave me was this
Sunday, January 9th 2011, 23:55:00 (GMT -5) translates to 1294635300

Does that mean that it will only run on Sunday at 11:55PM?

Taurus1 01-09-2011 02:34 AM

OK, now it is not updating. I have the same member up there for 2 days now. Please advise.
Thanks.

You can set it to whatever time you want? If you enter the date in the bottom part, you can create a timestamp for any time.

Konsolenheld 01-10-2011 10:15 AM

It doenst work, there?s no change. 3 Days = same User.

In Log: No user met the criteria, user not updated, set next runtime to 1294664338

gamerzhut 01-10-2011 04:44 PM

It works fine at my end.

No bug in the system

Sounds like no user is matching the criteria you have setup. What do you have for the fields above?

DragonByte Tech 01-10-2011 06:47 PM

I made an update with 1.6.2
Hopefully fixed the avatar issues with the different installation layouts
Fixed bbcode not parsing on custom fields
Switched code to use existing data so was able to eliminate all but 2 custom db queries, should be better on performance now.
