Then how do I use the Tag List? Is it everytime someone is tagged within a topic their name is displayed in the tag list?

In posts people are mentioned, to tag them hit the "tag user" button that should appear at the very top of the thread =)

You can also tell him to try disabling all other plugins and see if the errors still appear. If not, enable them one by one until you find the one it conflicts with, then either myself or him can figure out what's causing the conflict :)

I had to disable tagging as visitors were able to abuse the system. Is this corrected in the Pro version?

I think he means the following, which is what I just discovered:

1. Unregistered/Unlogged in account (Guest) is able to use the User Tag List.

2. Setting for Forum Permissions, really its for Category.


I had to disable "Thread" tags via No. 2. to disallow No. 1.

Was this intended?

Thanks for your attention to this. It seems maybe a ugroup on/off permission is suitable since its a basic control? I logically went to look there and didn't see any attributes for that.

I am only trying to remove Thread Tags from both Notification Menu and Profile page I want to keep the notifications running for only Mentions if I disable those plugins won't that disable all notifications (including for Mentions)?

by tag spamming resulting in useless tags. one particular member was banned. He learnt to clear his cookies and come back an copy pasted hundreds of member names in countless threads.

Oh, it's not currently possible to remove only notifications from Thread tags.

Hi again,

I will try to explain a bit better (should have at the start :P) I have removed the Thread Tagging box that was displayed above threads basically disabling thread tagging, since thread tagging has been removed there is no way for members to tag users to threads therefore the notification text that says Tagged in Threads etc is no longer required.

I just want to remove it from _appearing_ to the user but can't figure out what template to edit to remove those Tagging headings from showing up?

P.S - Great Mod mate very nice.

Never mind - I like the mod so much the extra features in the Pro version are exactly what I need (wasn't aware of a pay version lol).

I hope you don't mind the bump, which is only to provide some more feedback after I took a more comprehensive look at your plugin. I made sure I understood the differences to the Pro version as well, to see that I'm hopefully not being redundant. Meaning if you have something in the Pro version that matches my feedback list, then duhh, its not applicable. ;)


Please review at your convenience to see if anything is reasonable to implement or even feasible. Perhaps others can weigh in on this as well. If I have made a redundant comment, do please make that clear of my mistake.


User Tagging --

I had an idea. Would it be possible for the script to automatically Mention a user when someone quotes their post?

Would it be possible to somehow make it [quote=@Username;131213] without breaking the Quote box?

i also have this problem

i've tried it by disabling every other mod and loaded the default skin and still have the same approve/unapprove post problem as M.Kay.

approve/unapprove posts works normally if i disabled all plugins, and also if i have all the mods enabled except for the @user tagging.

i also noticed that while the post are being unapproved as you can approve them via the admin control panel(just not the inline way as M.Kay mentions) the little man icon that usually shows when a post is unapproved isn't being shown.

something i forgot.

undeleting posts also has a problem when this is installed

tick the checkbox on the deleted post and selecting undelete from the dropdown menu, it runs through as though it has do it(no error given) but the post is still deleted. the only way to undelete is to click manage and undelete via /postings.php?do=managepost

I just installed this. I tagged someone and it showed up in the shoutbox. but when I click on the User Tags tab, it gave me:
Error: Service Unavailable
Not sure if that is a shoutbox problem or a problem with this, but thought I would let you know here ^^
Edit: I noticed that guests can tag people. How do I stop guests from being able to tag people?
Edit 2: How do i stop the Thread Tags from showing up at all to guests.

To do that instead, wrap the entire template in that if condition I just showed you :)

When I type a users name and click the icon to add the [MENTION] tags, the only thing that shows up in the post is the @ without the username.

Any help would be appreciated.

If the username is wrapped in tags like so:
[MENTION]Username[/MENTION]

Then it may be a mod conflict. Are you running AME? If so, please try disabling profile linking in AME. This is something the author told me to tell people who had this problem.

Sorry, what is AME ? :) Not sure if this is significant but in the admincp > BB Code Manager the replacement code for [MENTION]Username[/MENTION] is only @ - there is nothing else there, hence it just replaces it with @. Should there be something else ?

Media Extender or something. If you don't know, then you probably don't have it :p

Does it work if you type @Username; manually?
