I'm asking for the world here, I know this, but I must ask...

Is there any way to get a shoutbox to display or any way to mod the shoutbox to put the messages into like a seperate forum so that the shoutbox content can be viewed on the phone app?

bydosangel 08-22-2010 11:32 AM

It works LIKE a charm with Arabic.
best Regards

ClemsonJeeper 08-25-2010 11:27 PM

Sorry about the lack of response, been real busy with new features!

There is "Current" which displays the last few days worth of posts.

For shoutbox support, go ahead and head over to http://www.forumrunner.net/forum and make the request in our request section!

There is a risk of Google banning your entire Adsense account if they found you are violating the agreement, although we haven't heard of any incident of it.

We strongly advise all the forum owners to evaluate this risk before attempting to inserting Adsense for Mobile Content Advertisement into any iPhone or Android native application.

Hello everyone and to the MOD author, I just want to bring this to your attention again that Google has already clarified this "grey" area and explicitly stated against retrofitting AdSense Mobile Content (web) into mobile application. Please refer to this link:

http://www.google.com/support/forum/...d1b7cf1c&hl=en

In fact it appears that the person who bought up this issue to Google and seek for clarification is actually the author of this MOD.

I am bringing this to your attention since it has been two and a half months since Google said NO to your request as an violation of Adsense agreement, but we haven't seen any communication to your end to remind forum owners to remove the Adsense code?

Hat's off to the developer! Our users love the Branded iOS version and are looking forward to the Android release.

@yellowpeter, if you have an issue with this mod, why not contact the developer directly? I find your multiple rants distasteful, especially when you feature links to your competing product.

I had privately contacted a google representative who works in the AdSense area, who actually works with one of the largest AdSense revenue forums on the internet, and they said it was fine.

Either way, I have to agree with the others that have posted up. It is obvious that you are simply trying to instigate doubt and promote your competitive app in the meantime.

ClemsonJeeper 10-17-2010 11:39 PM

Also note that you can use AdMob as posted in this thread:

Tagged for later.. thanks a lot!

futureye 10-23-2010 12:30 PM

I tried this app but it doesn't support RTL languages like arabic
charset=windows-1256

ClemsonJeeper 10-25-2010 02:26 AM

It should support Windows-1256 just fine if your php installation supports iconv or mbstring and they support it. We have several Arabic forums running Windows-1256 charset. If you have issues, email me at support at forumrunner dot net.

ClemsonJeeper 10-26-2010 09:59 PM

ANDROID SUPPORT IS HERE!!!!

1.5.1
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Android support
* Document AdMob support

ClemsonJeeper 11-09-2010 07:13 PM

* Fix issue with using Arabic characters for login/password
* Allow administrators to choose forums to exclude from sending to Forum Runner mobile clients. This is found in vBulletin Options->Forum Runner->Exclude Forums

abualk 11-12-2010 08:42 AM

It was to be good if it supports also Windows mobile 6.5, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry, and Nokia.

Anyone else experiencing problem with Forum Runner's "News" function?

I'm getting complaints from iPhone and iPad users that the "News" function which is equivalent to our vBCMS articles, doesn't work properly. They're saying that when they click the icon on the top right corner of the display, it opens up and says select "Section", but there's no sections displayed to select? We have over 20 sections with articles in each...

Regards,
Doug

This is a known issue with 1.3.5 (the version currently in the App Store). It is fixed in 1.3.6 (which is in review by Apple and should be out in a week or so).

Sorry for the issue. Once the update is ready, have your users update to the latest version to get the fix.

ClemsonJeeper 12-15-2010 04:12 PM

Version 1.5.3 has been released:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Fix many issues with forums with foreign character sets (logging in, push notification, moderation, etc)
* Fix issue with forums that disable attachments completely incorrectly allowing Forum Runner to attach images
* Fix issue with some threads crashing with iPad clients
* Add ability to configure which user groups you want to EXCLUDE sending Google AdSense or AdMob ads to

blake247 01-06-2011 06:15 AM

Good stuff

Hi,
thread´s not Viewing since App and Product Update.

It´s an error that Called " Displayerror, It´s a Problem with an Old Forumversion"

VB: 4.1.0 PL2
Addon: 1.6.0 from Forumrunner
App: 1.4

ClemsonJeeper 01-25-2011 03:18 PM

Version 1.6.1 has been released:

* Allow forum owners to provide default 'forum icons' for their forums/subforums - see forumrunner/icons/README.txt
* Modify 'preview' to show preview of last post in thread rather than first
* Add ability to enable "Signature" so that your posts will have an optional "Sent from my <device> using Forum Runner" appended. This can be overridden by the forum owner.
* Add support for displaying HTML, BBCode markup, and animated smilies
* Add support for viewing online status through app
* Add support for reporting of posts via app
* Handle [COLOR], [I], [B] BBCodes
* Add ability for users to choose if they see the last post or first post in thread summary screens

Are you still having the issue? If so, which forum is yours? It is quicker to get support by heading to the support forums in the future. :-)

Thanks!

MrD 01-26-2011 09:55 PM

Hi,
i posted the Error in the Supportforum Too :)
Same Username :D

Prisoner 02-08-2011 11:19 PM

Is anyone else having problems with Forum Runner showing HTML code in the messages?

Prisoner 02-09-2011 12:24 AM

Never mind, I narrowed it down and there seems to be a conflict between Dragonbyte's Thank You mod (Which I installed Sunday) and Forum Runner.

ClemsonJeeper 02-09-2011 01:03 PM

For those interested, here is the fix http://www.forumrunner.net/forum/sho...=2142#post2142

Thanks for all your help with this ClemsonJeeper.

BadgerDog 02-09-2011 01:32 PM

This shows an updated Feb 5th, 2011 version of Forum Runner ...

I just went to their site to download it and there's nothing there but the older Jan 20th version?

What am I missing?

Regards,
Doug

ClemsonJeeper 02-09-2011 03:26 PM

Nothing. They are the same version.

Do you have any odd redirects on your site? Wherever you upload the forumrunner add-on to (your root forum directory), you need to be able to directly access http://<root-forum>/forumrunner/request.php

without being redirected. Which doesn't look like thats the case on your site.

Jens* 02-09-2011 08:19 PM

Hi Rob,

Have you installed the latest version to verify that it works okay?

acorndomains.co 03-26-2011 09:44 PM

This conflicts with the "Throttle Posts" mod on here.

Any ideas for a fix?

ClemsonJeeper 03-28-2011 03:47 AM

Can you be a bit more specific? What happens? Likely a modification to either Forum Runner or the Throttle Posts mod will be required.

Can't find the app in UAE iPhone app store :(
