Following on from Mahfouz's other point (that existing links sometimes get converted to AutoLinks), I've released v1.0.5 now, which fixes this issue. For anyone wanting to upgrade from 1.0.4, it's just a case of uploading the new autolinker/autolinker.php file.

kermit, thank you for this mod. I like it, but I've the same problem as mahfouz. The number of times reduce links per post. I miss the following function: In case the plugin finds more of once the same word in a post, it will only change the first one. This is to avoid inconveniences to the users. Regards Samsine |

Thanks =]. Beautiful plugin. Well worth buying guys! |
Hi Omer, I've replied to you via email (we probably shouldn't be discussing the non-free version here)
|
I've been using this mod for almost a year now. I guess I would consider my site pretty heavily modified. It works fantastically. I have well somewhere in the vicinity of 500-1000 definitions. And by now, I've got well over 1,000 links auto created throughout my site.
Excellent modification, and well worth the extremely modest price, for the future growth of your site. |

Greetings Storyteller |
Is this working in 3.8.4, 3.8.5 and 3.8.6 Please?
And also 4.0.4, 4.0.5 & 4.0.6 too Please? Many Thanks. |
Can someone PM me the link for the Paid Version Please?

A quick question: I've installed this and made 2 links. On my test page one works the other doesn't, any suggestion as to why?
|
I'd be happy to take a look if you want to give me the URL (and the words that should be linked)
|
I figured it out kermit2 but now I'm trying it again with a two word link but only the first word of each two word link is the link, is this the way it's supposed to work?
ex: "linked word" shows only "linked" as the link. |
No, definitely not - it should be linking both words.
The only reason it should be happening this way is if you have "linked" and "linked word" as two different AutoLinks. In that situation the first might take priority |
As a linked word I'm using "Red Cone" and "Red" is being linked, this isn't right, correct?
|
No, it's not right - the whole thing should be linked. If you want to send me a URL (via PM if you prefer) I'll happily take a look
|
I figured it out as a conflict with Vault Wiki's linking. It's their link that's bad, not yours. Once I make sure I can totally disable that I'm heading towards your full version. Thanks for the willingness to dig deeper for me.
|
Ordered the full version, thanks!
|
I tried the demo install on our vB 4.0.5 instance.
It worked fine without errors; however there was one thing that put me off using it right now. I ticked the 'case sensitive' box and expected matches to 'poker' to be replaced with a linked 'poker' but instead it replaced all instances of 'poker', 'Poker', 'poKer' etc. Probably a minor niggle to most, but I think it is quite important to be able to provide a like-for-like match so the keyword in the post doesnt look out of place! Uninstalled for the time being. |
kharmer - I'd been meaning to take a look at this for a while, so thanks for the nudge. I've corrected this in v1.0.6, which is now available for download on this thread
|
Installed for testing ....
Thank you very much for your efforts kermit2 ... This could be very valuable to our aging demographic membership, by using it to point to reference articles (via links) in your vbCMS system which houses research material. Will let you know how it works ... :) If it does, where can I find the commercial version, although we are a "not for profit" site, so I'm not sure we'd be considered commercial? Regards, Badger |
This is a great plugin, I used it for a while on the lite version. As I was getting ready to purchase I realized this functionality is included in vbseo for which I own a license. So if you have vbseo, this functionality is included there.
By this I do not mean the plugin is not great, just thought that I would share my findings for other users who like me may be new to vbseo and perhaps not realize that this functionality is built into it. Cheers, Jose R. Lopez |
Hi Jose,
Are you sure about this? I don't have the latest version of vbseo, but I have been using it for a couple of years and haven't seen this. vbseo does have the ability to hyperlink keywords, but those are just standard html anchor links |

In "header" the following causes a script error in IE8:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="/forum/autolinker/autolinker.js"></script> |

Well, this modification is fantastic. And so we bought the pro version.
Poor is the support, even in the forum of the programmer, sorry bout to say this! |
Stefanus: hmm. I've just tried it out in IE 8 (the machine was a P3 with 256MB RAM), and didn't experience this, but I'm not sure how IE decides that a script is running too slowly. When do you get the error? When the page is loaded, when you mouse-over an AutoLink? If it's the latter, it could be the fade in/out effects or opacity - you could try turning those off. Possibly also if you have a large number of AutoLinks on the page
|
Sorry klaush, the forum tends to get overlooked - people tend to just email us if they have questions, or ask on this thread. I'll try to keep up to date with the forum
|
nice.. testing now
anyway to enable result in thread preview? |
Thanks for the response. I felt a little sad for this fantastic modification, even when bought the pro version without any support.
I understand that you will give support here at vb.org or what way do we have to choose to contact with the programming staff? Quote:
|
Usually emailing us is the quickest way, but I'm going to try to keep on top of the forums too - probably shouldn't use vb.org for discussing the pro version

Not working correctly for me.
I was at no point able to get the popup to work. And even the link appeared buggy. Pitty really as i could have quite a bit of fun with this mod. I get a javascript message at the bottom of browser or rollover but no popup. Any help appreciated. |
If you want to send me a link to your forum (well, specifically a page on which an AutoLink appears) I'll take a look - either post it on the thread or PM it if you wish
|
No work with vbb4.0.7
|
Can you be a bit more specific please bongmatinhoc? Your problems may or may not be down to the vbulletin version
|
Hi DAMINK
the line you add in the header, the path to the .js file, is it correct? PHP Code:
also Im testing this just for the links function and dont want the popups so I havent added this to the header, dont need to |
Hey guys.
@AURFSCAN yep that was the problem. I was able to get it working with this edit. However i cant seem to use that script. If i place it in the header template it removes my navbar and shoutbox? I tried placing it at the bottom and top of header. And tried headerinclude and no luck either. |
I would really love to get this working.
Anyone able to help? |
If you want to give me your forum URL (either on this thread or in private) I'll happily help
