This is an awesome mod, I'd like to make a request. Can a post ratio be built in rather than a set amount of posts?

Example: 10 posts have to be made in "Y" forum before user is allowed to make 1 post in "X" forum?

Thanks in advance!

jojojijijojo1 07-31-2010 04:27 PM

I liked your previous version, the reason is because I was able to set permission for attachments for every forum, but now if i set a post count restriction it applies to all the forum and thats not good, please can you fix that?

Veer 08-02-2010 02:35 PM

Valter, can you add "Voting and Polling" permissions as well?

Valter 08-04-2010 05:17 PM

It may be added in future versions.

Veer 08-04-2010 08:07 PM

Thanks, I will look forward for the update.

I tried to configure this plugin but when I tried to set the post count for all forums, I clicked the link and was taken to here:-

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...apboupc_setall

Which is a list of smilies!!!

Any ideas please

Bankfodder 08-11-2010 02:52 PM

Well I'm relieved that it isn't only me

Valter 08-11-2010 08:36 PM

When on the page, ensure that you are logged in.

Depending on your settings it may be that your cookies are not set for both, http://www.FORUM and www.FORUM.

Also ensure that you have SuperAdmin permissions.

Bankfodder 08-12-2010 09:07 AM

Cookies are set and I am superadmin. Makes no difference, sorry

Good Job.

When v5.2 ?

manofphat 08-26-2010 01:18 AM

What happens if someone has a link in their signature but doesn't meet the post count requirement?

Nothing.
I'm thinking about to use another additional hack like:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=248624

Valter, any chance for an fix to prevent spammers to use the signature to link? :)
Your hack is great, but spammers are using the sig now to link......Hide links/images in signatures if user post count is less than (0 to disable) doesn't work. vb4.0.5

final kaoss 08-28-2010 05:14 PM

NOT working with vbulletin 4.0.6....

Vaira 08-31-2010 04:39 PM

I have uninstalled and reinstalled your product.
Hide links/images in signatures if user post count is less than (0 to disable) definitively doesn't work at vb 4.0.5. I have set it to ten. My test user can link anyway.

My other restrictions I've set seem to work.
-Post Links/Images/e-mails, set to 20 at specific forums.
-Post count user must have before can SEND PMs (0 to disable), set to 5.

Any fix? :);)

I found the answer and got it working.

It's not a glitch but it may be undocumented.

It is very simple.

The hack must be active in order to configure it.
You cannot have it inactive, get it all ready and then activate it.

As soon as I activated it, the forum set up page was generated.

I think that this is a bit counter intuitive and that it might be an idea to be able to configure it in a non-active state.

Anyway, besides that, the mod is simple, effective and works well, so thanks for this.

got vb 4.6 and is working just fine :S

Vaira 09-10-2010 05:00 PM

Yes it works, but I can't make members to prevent to use the signature to post in a link based on their post count.
Can you confirm it is working, too?

Thanks. :)

Bankfodder 09-13-2010 08:55 AM

We are having a problem in that new users are posting on the blog pages instead of the forum.

Any chance that this mod could be updated to handle post count requirements for blogs, please??

I've activated it and it's still showing the smilies list :(

TURN YOUR PM'S ON TO RECEIVE REPLY

sticky 11-17-2010 09:11 AM

Could this be modified that instead of using post count it uses reputation?

Reef Man 11-17-2010 02:31 PM

sorry. Done. please send me a PM.

Brandon Sheley 11-18-2010 07:14 PM

so the configuration screen under settings is gone for this mod
anyone else have that happen?
I don't really want to remove it because we've spent a lot of time on the permissions setup, but I want to change something for the groups and I don't see the first screenshot under settings.. is it somewhere else?

btlewand 11-20-2010 10:32 PM

The requirements when configuring the Forum says minimum "posts" to access Forums. If the user creates a thread, is that also considered a "post" as far as allowing access?

jojojijijojo1 11-21-2010 09:21 PM

How can I set attachment permission for only 1 forum and not all?

Paul. 12-01-2010 08:00 PM

Would I be right to assume my forum is slower now that I've installed this? Although I do believe it's my connection!
It would be great to see some blog options added.

Thanks for this. :)

+1 blog spam is now a big problem as well as user album abuse with spam.

It would be cool. Is there anything at all out there at the moment to give us more control over the blogs?

DaPro 12-14-2010 10:51 AM

This plugin needs to have the templates updated to match vB4.1.

Have you found issues?

btlewand 12-16-2010 07:21 PM

Unusual situation. Using 4.08 and am still building my site so it's currently private from viewers. Forum view restriction using this hack is working on one forum. Now cannot get to work on any other forums. The one that is working I believe I set up a few weeks back so perhaps I configured something since then that prevents this hack from working on any new forums (just weird that it works on one forum and not another). I see comments in this forum that some users are having trouble getting the product to work on various versions of VB but did not really see any clear resolution.

I'm only using this product because I want to prevent Unregistered users from viewing certain forums on my site. I know I can set permissions for unregistered users from viewing those forum but that also shuts down the RSS feeds for those forums and ALL child forums and I need those RSS feeds to be functional.

Any ideas?

btlewand 12-17-2010 02:48 PM

I'm still trying to resolve this issue, but am finding the plug-in works in VB 4.08 in a forum I created PRIOR to upgrading to 4.08. If I try to create a new forum, update an existing forum or make a new forum based from the one that is working (now that I am on 4.08), the plug-in permissions do not prevent users from accessing the forum if they do not have the minimum post count.

If somebody reading this post is using this plugin and it is working correctly on 4.08, can you try to create a new forum and test to see if anything created after you have upgraded to 4.08 doesn't work. Just trying to see if others are having the same problem based on when they created the forum.

Sangheili 01-03-2011 11:36 AM

I have a feature request. Option to enable reCAPTCHA only when creating new threads and being able to control which users are affected by post count and usergroup.

cyberchief 01-26-2011 05:57 PM

Thanks!

zacs2k 01-27-2011 06:01 PM

I have a suggestion for the next update. Make it so that we can edit the text that it says. Example instead of "you must have # posts to access this forum. You currently have #" I would like to put a link in there so that if a user who is unregistered reads that they can click the link to register to the forum.

Valter 01-27-2011 09:42 PM

It's in phrases.
