Edit 4.0.3

Valter any idea why its not showing in my navbar?
Thanks

docvader 05-19-2010 08:24 PM

Works great, but when installed with this album hack:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ghlight=albums
the gallery link gets between the New Posts link and the green highlighted numbers. I guess the two mods are competing for the same hook in the navbar. Any way of getting the numbers back to the New Post's link without removing the album mod?

Xexiu 05-23-2010 06:01 PM

Same here, using gallery add-on, and doesn't show up the posts. Added the order to VSA 5 and Gallery 6, and still nothing.

Uninstalled gallery, and the dropdown is blank and posts number aren't showing :(.

Dang, I love this mod, to bad I can't use it as on v3.8!

texasteamplayer 05-28-2010 12:42 AM

perfect.

texasteamplayer 05-28-2010 12:48 AM

but what's the "# l #" for? I assume it means x posts in y categories...perhaps?

doesn't seem necessary, and would like to disable it, and just have the drop down.

really great function that was super needed on big boards with too many posts for mods to deal with globally.

Valter 05-28-2010 05:12 PM

x new posts | in y threads

texasteamplayer 05-29-2010 01:53 AM

yeah. it makes sense if you're the coder. But....to a new user...it's just some numbers and a line. Possible to say "x posts in y threads"

texasteamplayer 06-02-2010 07:29 PM

any way to have individual forums, instead of just forum categories, as unread links?

http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/4318/24648768.jpg

for example, our "hosted games" and resident clan categories have dozens of individual forums. Most users would only want to look at a few of these specifically (like CSS and 2142, or =123= clan public and private only). Possible?

Also, what about creating a mod that allows users to designate what their "unread posts" button will do? Meaning...let individual users specify what forums, category, or individual, are going to be searched for unread posts? So...for example, I could set my link to read only the CSS, 2142, BF2 admin, and =123= clan, and hosted games (CSS, 2142, and BF2) only. would be userful in a hurry, for mods, admins, and regular users.

massizero 06-12-2010 11:07 PM

some users are writing that they don't read any numbers but "database error" what could it be the reason ? thanks

RustyDogma 07-09-2010 03:09 PM

I love this mod! It would be nice if it could show new posts in groups as well.

Xencored 07-20-2010 11:12 PM

Is there a way to Disable CMS comments from showing? because it links them to the "none viewing thread" not the main article

Thanks

CVOsporty 08-09-2010 06:53 PM

Very nice Mod.. .thanks

LuisManson 10-13-2010 02:30 PM

i was wondering how server intensive this is, since i see lots of
Code:

POST /misc.php?show=vsaanp_newposts HTTP/1.0
in the apache status...

MonsterDK 10-19-2010 02:44 PM

Need some advice... been advised to remove this if on shared or vps hosting based on that when my forum fills up with members and posts, this mod will be a major down fall.

I am using shared hosting.. can anyone advise on this?

thanks

shanef 10-30-2010 08:07 PM

YankForum 10-31-2010 02:22 PM

Dragaon 11-15-2010 06:52 PM

installed and it worked fine. After 6 hours the servers CPU maxed out and I had to disable it. :-\

RK KINGKONG 12-28-2010 06:33 PM

WELL for me it works but where some dont see an error message others do like this for example :
Database Error]]> Database error in vBulletin 4.1.0

Invalid SQL: SELECT COUNT(*) AS posts, post.threadid, post.dateline, thread.forumid FROM post as post LEFT JOIN thread AS thread ON (thread.threadid = post.threadid) WHERE post.visible = '1' AND thread.forumid NOT IN(3,60,58,) AND post.dateline >= 1293531163 GROUP BY post.threadid;

Hey Valter!

Can you please update this to ver 4.1.1 or maybe 4.2?

Thanks!

RK KINGKONG 01-21-2011 01:19 AM

i just updated my vb 4.1 patch 2 / to vb 4.1.1 and for some reason i dont get the error message i use to get . that was random but who cares right it works well ... so far no one has reported back to me yet that they are seeing the error message i posted above . before i couldnt see but others could now so far no one sees it . so imma say its safe to assume it works well with VB 4.1.1

thanks again for a great mod

imedic 01-25-2011 09:02 PM

Works great in 4.1.1 Tank you. :)
Would love to have also My posts and My threads in the same menu :)

RK KINGKONG 01-25-2011 09:12 PM

that would be awesome though theres a mod for that already , however having both of these in the same place would be great

my threads & my post

Getting database emails for errors. On the error it has vsaanp_newposts, I am guessing it stands for vsa advanced new posts. Correct me if I am wrong.

Anyone have an idea what this error means and how to fix? I do not think users actually get an onscreen error...

Valter 03-24-2011 09:23 PM

Try rebuilding forum cache by going to your forum manager and saving the display.

Try also with:
Maintenance > Update Counters > Rebuild Thread Information
Maintenance > Update Counters > Rebuild Forum Information

Sorry What does saving the display mean? Cheers

Valter 03-30-2011 05:57 PM

[Save Display Order] button at the bottom of the page.

fatdr 03-31-2011 06:31 AM

nice mod
thanks

fatdr 03-31-2011 06:32 AM

Works great in 4.1.2 Thank you.

pselten 04-24-2011 04:22 PM

Also works great in V4.1.0

Now it says X (posts) in Y (threats)
Is it possible for me to hide the Y and only show the X ?

Thanx in advance,

Paul Selten.
