We have released another round of iPhone update at app store. Version 1.5.6 with a new logo! Enjoy!

Discussions 01-20-2010 01:15 AM

Is there any way to allow administrators to have access to some basic functions of the admincp or moderator powers?

yellowpeter 01-20-2010 02:30 PM

This is in future agenda and to do list. :)

Big-Pete 01-20-2010 05:55 PM

Very soon you will have BlackBerry access via Tapatalk. :D

yellowpeter 01-21-2010 12:09 PM

We are happy to announce that the Tapatalk MOD for vBulletin 4.0 has graduated from beta and now in full support in 1.0 mode. There are essentially no change since the surprisingly stable 0.9.3 built with Image Upload support. If you have already installed 0.9.3 there is no rush to upgrade to 1.0. Stay tuned for on-going update!

Big-Pete 01-21-2010 12:19 PM

I've had to remove the added line to my header template as it made the header dissapear and all of the login info move from the right of the screen to the left, as soon as i removed the added line it went back to normal, I added your line of code to the top of the header, where would i put it so that it doesnt mess up the header?? Id like to use this app as we currently have touchbb installed and members hate it.. :)

PS: if you need beta testers for Blackberry let me know

jacko_162 01-21-2010 01:02 PM

excellent update with the image upload. now if only we could upload multiple images and uploaded better quality higher resolution photos..

or at least have an option to pick what image size you want; (for example small, medium, large & original)

that would be awsome, small is only good for quick shots while your not in a wifi zone.

Big-Pete 01-21-2010 01:24 PM

I've just installed this on my test site at the bottom of the header template and the header and login is still normal, is it ok to put
Code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.tapatalk.com/files/tapatalkdetect.js"></script>
at the bottom of the header, or does it need to be at the top?

Edit: Well, I 've changed the info on tapatalk to point to my test site and it doesn't verify with the code above added to the bottom of the header template, and if i add it to the top its breaks the header as no header image shows and the login info is on the left hand side instead of the right..

radmoose 01-21-2010 04:39 PM

Please consider adding a README.TXT file to the root of the ZIP file with basic instructions or where to go for instructions.

abqtj 01-21-2010 11:52 PM

Had it, worked well, just deleted it. Slowed my forum WAY down today out of the blue.

Hi abqtj,

Aware of the issue this morning - today we have reworked the setup instruction so you don't need to rely a small script in our server which apparently is not meant to handle to load. Now the entire Tapatalk setup is completely self-hosted and no dependency whatsoever.

You should also receive an email from us about this update. Let us know if you need further assistance.

We will update the full instruction and like the other user suggested, add a README.txt in the package to make it more complete.

Cheers

Hi Big-Pete,

The verification process (basically it make sure everything setup correctly and if not it will show you what's wrong) has nothing to do with the location of the code you mentioned.

Are you able to login to tapatalk and reinstall it with the updated instruction? We updated the package so it's no longer load any files from our server (and so to avoid potential performance issue when our server is overloaded). We are not google so we are not going to beef up our server instead we will make it competely self-contained in your server and no dependency to us. :)

I already removed my forum and account from the tapatalk site. Do I need to start over from square one on there again if I decide to add it back?

Yes unfortunately. but trust me it will be all good this time :)

This freaking mod has knocked my forum offline all day. I constantly get 'Content Encoding Error' screens and the whole forum is offline. I have had to figure out by pasting bits and pieces of clues all over the net to try and figure out how to fix this whole fiasco, and nothing is helping. I would suggest you install this mod with caution!

Cheers Yellowpeter, installed and updated tapatalk and all verified ok on VB4.0.1 with VBSeo and sitemap 2.6 running..

yellowpeter 01-23-2010 01:01 PM

Hi RollaJedi,

I'll be really concerned if there is such error, one of our fellow sent you an email to follow-up. I hope it gets clarified very soon whether it is related with this MOD, and if so, we will definitely go fix it immediately.

Read ME has been added into the package now. Great suggestion.

sim tech 01-27-2010 05:29 PM

I just installed it this afternoon and it only took a couple of minutes to get everything set up. I'm running the latest version of vBulletin and my iPhone was just upgraded to the latest software as well. I also just downloaded the free version of Tapatalk.

Everything went smooth and is working great! Thanks for the mod!!

** The only thing that I saw that was out of the ordinary concerned a couple of private forums I also have on my board. When the forum is viewed on a regular web page it just shows up private forums but in the iphone app it shows any subforums listed in the private area.

This isn't a big deal as all the actual posts in the private forums are hidden, but I was just curious if anyone else noticed this.

Great mod. I've been receiving requests for an iphone app and I think this will be a hit!

Covert-OPs_ 01-28-2010 12:03 AM

I am very interested in this app but after hearing about some of the problems people have had I want to be sure that everything has been resolved. Also, I would like to know if there is an uninstall feature that would completely disable the mod? I just want to make sure I have an easy way to shut it down in the event that I run into an issue.

Covert-Ops,

You can always uninstall it anytime you want. Just reverse the step and you are all done. :)

RollaJedi 01-28-2010 04:42 PM

the last time i had my problem, (look a few posts back) I still had the template edits. Although I had deleted the mobiquo directory, the edits were still there, so the forum wouldnt work, nor would it let me get to the admincp where i could change the templates. So, after finding no help anywhere about this, i had to restore a backup of my database. That was the ONLY way i got my forum back online.
I'm very skeptical about using this product again. The only reason i'm still here is there are several members that enjoyed the service in the small time it actually worked and I'd like to see it fixed so i can enable it safely.

Michael2 01-29-2010 12:21 PM

Installed and seems to work perfectly. Also download the $2.99 app. VERY nice, thank you so much! IB should be ashamed something like this isn't included by default. Thanks for picking up the slack.

TNCclubman 01-29-2010 12:30 PM

Anything like this out there thats free? My members dont pay for access to my site, I dont want to start now asking them for money... (Facebook app is free)

TNCclubman 01-29-2010 12:32 PM

That being said, is there a way to make this app only work for my site? I'll buy 10 apps at a time from you at 2.99 each and give them out.

yellowpeter 01-31-2010 12:31 PM

This is just an option to your member, and they can use our free version. :)

for other non-technical discussion please go to tapatalk.com thank you :)

maximutt 02-01-2010 06:35 PM

Hello,

Just wondering if you guys are still on track to release the Blackberry compatible version early this month.

Thanks.

yellowpeter 02-02-2010 11:51 AM

Hi,

The BB version is push back a little bit but still on track for beta release in February. :o

paratek 02-02-2010 11:24 PM

One of my users alerted me to a "bug" with Tapatalk. I have a few forums on my site that are not accessible to the average registered user. You must belong to a higher level user group. I have verified this works properly when i long into the site using my computer. I access it with different level user accounts and everythng displays only what it should to each specific user.. Now if i log into the site using Tapatalk with my regular plain registered user account i can see on the recent posts section of tapatalk the restricted rooms as well as the first parts of all the recent posts of messages a registered user should not have access to! It cannot be taking in the permissions properly. This is unacceptable and needs to be fixed ASAP!

yellowpeter 02-03-2010 02:01 PM

This issue can happen when you set the forum to a group of user as "Can View Forum" but "Cannot View Thread".

It has been resolved and you can download the updated MOD version "1.0.1" from either here or at the tapatalk.com/entry

Thanks for bringing this up and I am going to send the update notification to all marked as installed.

Let me know if you run into any other problem.

sim tech 02-03-2010 05:04 PM

Thank you Paratek for bringing that issue up and another thanks to the designer for fixing it so quickly. I had the same problem on my forum as well as some were marked as private.

Do we just replace the mobiquo directory with the new 1.0.1 files and that is all that's needed to fix this?

Yes all you need is to replace the files.

If you still find any issue please let us know and we will fix it accordingly.

This has happened since i upgraded to the newest release. Seems to have broken the style format. This is a screen shot of a users profile as he was online while using Tapatalk

Yes we aware of it - in vb 3.7/3.8 we have provided a small plugin so it convert to a simple string like "on mobile". We will try to add this support in vb4.0 soon.

yellowpeter 02-10-2010 11:48 PM

iPhone app 1.6.1 has been released from app store with various important fixes.

Now it supports 8 different languages including German, Spanish, French, Russian, Solvak, Portuguese and others! Thanks for all the volunteers to make it happen!

We also updated the Android app with much improved performance!

yellowpeter 02-18-2010 01:41 PM

FYI.. A lot of forum owners have asked about ETA of our BlackBerry version. We're indeed getting a step closer to the BlackBerry version released by the end of the month, it been delayed for two weeks but we are on track to get it out very soon!

yellowpeter 02-20-2010 05:29 AM

The team been on holiday last few days, please expect some delay in answering your PM. :)
