Excelent, mod, installed and rated!
Tahnk you!!

May I ask for a new "Micro"?
I think many people would use MicroProfiles, a better profile system powered by MicroHellas, I am thinking in a Linkedin style profiles, am I asking too much?

Sorry... By mistake I replied to microAUCTIONS...
Admincp-> Plugin Manager and then from the drop list of Classifieds Tab Menu choose disable or delete (don't remember exactly the menu options).

I'm sorry.. I couldn't follow anything after Plugin Manager.... can you please clarify what you have to do?

GrossKopf 02-16-2010 12:43 AM

Nevermind I figured it out.

1. Go into the Admin CP and click on Plugins and Products, then select Plugins Manager
2. Find "microCLASSIFIEDS"
3. Look for "Classifieds Tab Menu" and uncheck the box to the right and save.

I know maybe a topic not for here, however iu just wondered what the differences were between this release, and the "commercial" release??

Thx

With vb 4.0.2, my forum header is missing:

http://flotgaming.net/forums/classifieds.php

This is what it normally looks like: http://flotgaming.net/forums/

melbo 02-26-2010 01:55 AM

Where do i change the text of the navbar tab from Classifieds to something else?

melbo 02-28-2010 12:49 AM

Well, Maria closed my question threads at microhellas.com telling me that they were for paid apps only and that she wasn't supporting us over here anymore. I'm just trying to get a few things sorted before buying the PRO version but she won't accept PMs either.

not sure how she'll sell PRO with unfixed bugs in FREE...

oddmud 03-03-2010 07:23 PM

How come it's showing 3 products, when there is only two listed?

http://www.goaliecrease.net/classifieds.php

For example Pads (3)

http://www.goaliecrease.net/classifi...o=main&catid=7 - but you only see two

oddmud 03-05-2010 03:49 PM

Also why is this happening in IE?

It ads "" to the url, which then turns it in to a 404 not found page.

http://www.goaliecrease.net/classifi...d976e50b819b3&

wampforum 03-12-2010 08:23 PM

hmm - works ok apart from no picture shows - checked everything twice - tried a tiny picture too but alas no joy

ascott 03-12-2010 08:37 PM

I uninstalled this from my forum because of this, doesn't seem to want to fix it.
I'll not bother buyer the pro version now!

Hi, every time I click on an ad a new page or tab opens in the browser with the ad in it - you are continually closing tabs if your browsing a lot of ads, is there any way to stop this and just have the ad open in the same tab??

Not in new (blank) window.

Thank you for your mod! Great job.

For some reason it is just using the stylevar options from vBulletin. Here I have lots of custom css in the additional.css file. Is there a way to make the mod work with this .css files?

NashChristian 04-02-2010 10:23 PM

Hello.

I like some of the features of your add-on, though others need a bit of work. I'm interested to know what makes your PRO version worth $100, when I can have this version for free? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm really curious what the difference is, that justifies this cost.

One significant concern I have, is that you seem to have so MUCH going on at once, developing several software products simultaneously, and I'm unsure whether you'll devote the time required to work the kinks out of this one to my satisfaction. I don't mind paying for quality, but I need assurance that the developer is working in my best interest, and actively addressing my concerns.

Couple of questions about the free version:
  • Is there a way for the admin to disable shipping options and payment options? I'd like to just use this for local ads, without shipping, and want the buyer to pay the seller in person, and leave me out of that process.
  • Is there a way for the admin to disable the currency/weight/dimensions?
  • Is there a way to remove seller type, this will only be for individuals not stores.
  • Is there a way to run an ad indefinately, like for advertising SERVICES, or anything else without an end date? It is annoying seeing an end date at the top of the ad, can this be disabled? (Time restraints make sense with AUCTIONS, but not with regular classified ads. An individual is going to run their ad until they sell their product.) I have no desire to facilitate auctions.
It would be nice if there were a thumbnail or graphic to indicate when there is an attachment. It is easy to miss the test link currently.

I really like the fact that your software is fully integrated with vB, and makes good use of the style and space in the listing (category) interface, as opposed to PhotoPost currently.

I like PhotoPosts' actual ad display better than yours, because of its simplicity and use of photos, but they have totally dropped the ball on the vB4 transition and list of classified sections looks like a big clunky block of forums (with padding problems). I really like your cute, tidy little folder directory much better. I wish you and PP would work together on building one ultimate classified platform, but I know that's not going to happen. I need to purchase one or the other within the next week, sadly I'm not fully satisfied with either at the moment.

I need to clearly understand what is possible with your software, and what isn't. What I can configure as an admin, and what just "is what it is". I also need to understand how open you are to suggestions from your customers, and whether or not you will customize your product to their liking.

I also am confused about how to purchase your PRO version, and what that includes.

vB4-CLASSIFIEDS $10.00 20 5 $100.00
Installation $2.00 0 0 $20.00
5 Support Points $3.50 25 5 $25.00

Does SUPPORT cost an additional $25 AFTER paying $100 for your product?

Hoping to hear back from you soon. Thanks!

wickedstangs 04-02-2010 11:27 PM

I don't think she is supporting this free version anymore due to being busy. She will only support you if you get the PRO version.

From my understanding, I could be wrong:)

If that is the case, then she needs to mark this mod as "unsupported".

Thanks for the feedback. If she doesn't respond, then she doesn't get my money. Better to learn that BEFORE I pay! lol

Nothing in common. The PRO version has at least 20+ additional features, including support for wanted and auction type classifieds. Also the price contents Brand Free something that other companies cost at least $35, don't mentioning PHP Classifieds which costs it $129!!. But what increases the cost is a simple word: SUPPORT.

Since some days now, I'm not working alone, but with Micheal from vb-hacks.com who will be responsible for supporting my mods and also port the most popular of them to vB3. From the other side, I've prototype my work, so 70% of the files of a new mod, is a 5 min work for a global search and replace of the new filename and database name. If you give a closer look to my code you'll see that I'm always using the same style and name in my code, eg ..._items, .._item_photos, ...._item_files etc etc.

Sorry the support for the free version is limited to installation issued only. But just a simple help you can do them by reming them from the templates.

I've active license for PhotoPost since April 2002 when it was a Perl (and not PHP) script. Still waiting from Scott (if he still exists in the company), to resolve my problem with Greek characters.

I haven't finished yet my shop. In any case:
$100 is the cost
$10 is the money credits that you'll get for your next order of any product
20 are the points that you're getting. You can use these points to "buy" special mods for my clients only. No more free mods here.
Currently forget the support points. When I'll start using them, the price of microCLASSIFIEDS will drop to around $50 with forum support. If someone needs ticketing support (fasten) the he must buy support points. But as I said, this not currently active.

1.- Support for free mods, is limited to installation issues. Actually template modifications, nobody supports even in commercial scripts. All scripts are coming "as is" on interface.

2.- I can prove that I gave support even for other than installation issues, to those who came to my site and asked for it, or even to those who email me (not PMs). Have you seen how many mods do I have here? Do you think that, even if I'm willing to support them, is easy to move from thread to thread?

3.- "If she doesn't respond, then she doesn't get my money.". I never accepted in my 32 years business life, "if" conditions. Especially, being a woman, I have faced lots of different types of "if....". So, please keep your money safe in your pocket, I don't need even a single cent, but if you want to use the PRO version, I'll be more than happy to give you a license for free. It will not be the first time that I'm giving away license for free, and many members can prove it.

I'm confused here, are you saying that YOU will not support your PRO version personally? No harm intended, but Michael hasn't even gotten his website back up and functional yet, but he is your support team? I want to deal directly with the coder.

Maybe it's a language barrier, forgive me if I'm being redundant, but I'm still confused on the price of your product. Please forget about points and tell me about costs $$. Does the $100 include SUPPORT? If so, for how long? Are there any additional expenses?

When you start using WHAT, the price will drop to $50? When do you anticipate that this will be?

Is there a link to where I can TEST DRIVE your PRO version of the classifieds? Where I can place an ad and see how the interface feels?

Thanks for your time in responding.

Please, you misunderstand me. I'm not trying to get anything from you for free. I'm trying to determine whether or not you have something I'm interested in purchasing, or if I would be disappointed after I spent my money and still not have what I need.

You seem quite angry. Truly, I meant no offense.

I have the pro-version of this mod and I can testify that it is indeed much more advanced than the free version. The support level is excellent as well. I don't think we can expect developers to always fully support the free versions as obviously their time has to be prioritized to paying customers. However Maria I think still does an excellent job here considering she has several mods on VB4. If you are looking to ad some sort of classifieds/want ads to your forum I highly recommend this product. Very easy to use and it looks great.

Thanks for the feedback! Good to hear something nice! Do you have a link to your classifieds, so I can check out the interface?

I really DO believe that she KNOWS her code, which is one reason why I want to deal directly with HER, not someone she outsources her support to.

Can the PRO version of the interface be SIMPLIFIED for users, in some of the ways I mentioned above (in that really, really, really long post)?

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
:D Jeff

ViktorDA 04-03-2010 06:54 AM

Maria contrary extends support! Now Maria has opened a new website to support their projects. :)

NashChristian, Please be patient.

Pro version is more functional than free.

The problem is that there is a big misunderstanding for the real meaning of the word "Support", that's why many times I prefer to say "I'm not giving support", rather to say: "I support it" and later on to become redicolous (I'm too old for accepting this).

Please allow me to use some examples:
  1. Last 10 years I've bought more than 100 commercial scripts (I'm talking in general for PHP). Let's analyze, some "meanings" of Support:
    1. Viart Enterprise (own 2 licenses of it, total $698): Support Center is open: Monday - Friday (7.00am - 5.00pm GMT) . Do you count it as Support?
    2. aMember (3 licenses): Great Every Day Support
  2. Type of Support question. I'll use 2 issues from the same person, a very good client of me, who it's true that stress me a lot, but he is real gentleman:
    1. URGENT!!! Maria, a list (among 50+ different types of lists), dosen't shows the list indexing by newest on the top. Well, do you think that this is an urgent question?
    2. For the same client 2 days ago, I spent the whole day being in contact with him, to correct something which wasn't bug from my code, but rather from his custom modifications, something that nobody supports. But I stand by him, because it was really urgent as he is operating a big classifieds portal with around 350 new Ads a day.
  3. So, if someone says easily "Yes, I'm giving support", most probably is tricking you if he dosen't explain in details, which hours, ...days etc, is giving support, and in which type of issues.
  4. Most of support issues can be reply even by you after using my products for a week. They're so easy. For these type of support I hired Michael, to give me the freedom to work in other fields. But he is good programmer, trusted person, and I'm sure that he'll help me a lot.
To make the long story, short. For real problems, I'm here to resolve them, even if I need to stay asleep all the night. But for questions like: "How to increase the space between the blocks", don't expect any reply from me. Straight and honest words. And don't let others tricky with you. On 99% of companies, you never have direct communication with the coder(s).

I don't see a tremendous amount of difference, between your free and pro product, though I definately prefer the pro, and several of my complaints about the free version are addressed in the pro.

One concern I noticed right off, does your product not have search engine friendly url's? (I'm speaking of the pro product.) ??

By the way, I DO admire your passion!

Thanks again for sharing! :D
