Same here. This is my default skin, and I won't upgrade until this is in place! Thanks!

Just looking at this thread for the first time https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...91#post1984091 Holy cow man they made a lot of changes. I can't mess with this until I get home later but my guess is that most of this style will have to be rebuilt. I can imagine many of the other styles here will be in for the same thing.

I will bump this thread when I have this version in place, I will most likely have to have separate version between the current version and 4.02.

djbaxter 02-17-2010 03:27 PM

It may not be as bad as you think. With a quick test, it looked like just the main forum index page was messed up. Threads and posts looked normal.

It even seems to work okay for the CMS (once I got access back to the CMS after my upgrade).

thanks, can't wait to upgrade! good luck.

ericgtr 02-18-2010 02:23 AM

Can someone give me a screenshot? I just upgraded to 4.0.2 and it appears to be working for me in both IE and FF.

Here you go. Note the missing "bars" / separators between forums and behind the forum name on the main index page.

The second screen shot shows how it should be via the default vB style.

Hmm.. I am unable to replicate that. You also still have the vb4_blue folder within the images folder, right? Also, the bars use the default image class and then just lays the color on top of them so that's sort of strange. I wonder if something changed in the upgrade process today because during my upgrade it did a lot of merging with templates and it all seemed to work.

djbaxter 02-18-2010 03:18 AM

My upgrade involved a lot of template merges too.

I just re-downloaded the zp file for the style, reuploaded all the images, and then re-imported the style. Same porblem.

See attachment... the custom image paths are not showing up correctly even with a re-install.

Okay, those are no longer applicable. To see the image paths check out the StyleVars and look for ImagePaths. They are all default in mine with the exception of Item "Status Icon Folder" which is set to images/vb4_blue/statusicon

Can you see if yours matches up to that?

Yes, it does.

I confirm forumhome and PM.

Another screenshot of forumhome in cazse it helps...

djbaxter 02-18-2010 02:00 PM

I also tried disabling all hooks to see whether this could be an add-on or plug-in conflicting with the style.

That doesn't help.

i just figerud this out. you have to revert all templates. and it's now working fine with me.
i think that's why he said it's working fine with him.

More info - from View Source:

Code:

        <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://forum.psychlinks.ca/css.php?styleid=104&amp;amp;langid=1&amp;amp;d=1266477093&amp;amp;td=ltr&amp;amp;sheet=forumbits.css" />

Note the repetitions of "&amp;amp;". Not sure if this is a style error or a vBulletin 4.02 error.

Added:

It must be your style. That doesn't occur in the default style.

I did revert all templates - right after the upgrade. Still not working.

do it again, that's what happend with me. at the first time was broken but after did again it worked.

admincp > styles and templates > revert all templates
it will show you the templates that going to be reverted, after that it will ask you if you are sure, press yes.

* I know that after upgrade to 4.0.2 in admincp asked you to revert some templates. but what i did to make it work is revert all the templates.

try this and let me know.

I don't see that option in the ACP- these are my options there:
  • Style Manager
  • Search in Templates
  • Replacement Variable manager
  • Download/Upload Styles
  • Find Updated Templates
Is the "revert all" option maybe an add-on you've installed?

Never mind - found it.

Trying it now.

djbaxter 02-18-2010 05:50 PM

Well, I'll be darned. That worked!

Thank you, ToNetU! Excellent work! :)

No, it wasn't my fix. The credit should go to ToNetU.

Have a look for doc_background in you stylevars, that should do it for you. You can add a background image and define how it's displayed there too.

There it was! Thanks.

I'm confused about the background image for a specific forum, though. I want a specific background image displayed ONLY for a specific (VIP) forum. Any ideas?

I think the only way to do that is to apply a different style to a selected forum, you should see that option under the Forum Manager > Style Options. So what you could do is import this style again, but give it a different name, then change the background and only apply it to the specific forum you want.

wolfyman 02-19-2010 02:08 PM

ah, good idea. Thank you eric :)

I can't get the image path for a background image right, what format and where should the image go?

Give this a try:

url(images/customfolder/image.png)

VB uses CSS code in all of those fields, here's a great reference for syntax http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_background.asp

motowebmaster 02-20-2010 01:10 PM

Thanks.

I've got a problem on Forumhome since the update to vb 4.0.2. I deleted your style and add it again. But the problem is the same. Is your help possible?

Q: It's not working after upgrading to 4.0.2.
A: Revert your templates by going to Admincp > Styles and templates > Revert all templates.

Very important tip. Thx.

djbaxter 02-20-2010 06:24 PM

It's in the first post but should probably be highlighted in green or red so it stands out more clearly.

mmostafayousef 02-20-2010 07:27 PM

I think It is really the time to upgrade this style as a lot of users are depending on it and we cannot afford to stay with 4.0.1

Try reading the thread, or at least the first post.

This works in 4.02 if you revert the style templates.

Look at my post just a couple of posts above yours.
