Great mod, but it won't work with vbadvanced, nothing shows up on VBA-pages.
What should I change to get it work?

For anyone having issues with this plugin on vBadvanced CMPS:

The "fix" is relatively simple, $navbaravatar simply needs to be globalized and luckily vBadvanced comes included with a little tool that allows you to do exactly this! Go to the following location in your browser:
Admin CP -> vBa CMPS -> Default Settings

Scroll down the page slightly, and find the "Portal Output Global Variables" settings. Note that the description here states that the '$' before the variable name is NOT required, so simply enter navbaravatar there, hit "Save" and you should be good to go.

I you send me your navbar template and header template and the URL to your site, I prepare this mod for you.

I am doing that right now via PM system... This hack works with all of my custom styles except a really OLD one I have and really like.

Please add an image crop tool, so that members can crop their avatar to a square. Without it rectangle avatars are stretched and squashed beyond recognition.

Perhaps you can give me style via email? Or admin access to I can check the navbar template?

To prevent this you can limit only on thing, height or width...

I think I won't build a new 3.x version because I'm using vB 4.

I dont see how setting a maximum height or width helps. But if that would somehow help, then i think that will not affect those 100.000 members that already have an avatar. It would then only help for new avatars. or am I missing something?

The readme file has two settings, with and without TMS. What is TMS?

I haven't upgraded to VB 4 yet.

Kolbi 04-11-2012 09:33 AM

Version 1.1.5 works for vB 3 as well.

YankForum 07-28-2012 07:26 AM

just wanted to report the avatar not showing up in /fourm/arcade.php

Kolbi 07-28-2012 07:32 AM

Could you provide me a link? I would recommend PM + user-account (if needed).

It works on mine... I have the same arcade and have this Mod as well.... It looks on first glance that your style reverses the position of the navbar template? Making everything flush left instead of flush right? Your issue may be related to that.

Thank you for the screen but to identify the issue I should see the code of your page...

Everything ok Avatar forum page. Not for home page and Arcade?

Kolbi 08-06-2012 01:17 PM

For the reason that I haven't installed the arcade mod I couldn't proove it.

But it might be possible to get it working on the arcade, too.

You can find out by creating a new style with no parent, and then looking at this mod through use of that new style.

Kolbi 08-10-2012 06:25 AM

Or provide me a URL and maybe an admin account via PM :-)

Important:
Code:

Without TMS:
Open the navbar template and search for:
==================================
        <else />

                <td class="alt2" nowrap="nowrap" style="padding:0px">

                <!-- login form -->
==================================

add above
==================================
                <td class="alt1"><a href="$vboptions[bburl]/profile.php?do=editavatar">$navbaravatar</a></td>
==================================
After that upload the plugin and you?re done.

A.Chakery 02-13-2013 08:47 PM

Thanks for the plugin,

would you please tell me if this plugin is still supported ?

Kolbi 02-14-2013 10:34 AM

More or less :-) I'm not using vB 3.8 anymore but I'll help as much as I can.

A.Chakery 02-14-2013 11:46 AM

thank you for the reply,

actually my problem is kind of strange, the avatar is only showing when I am viewing the forumdisplay or showthread pages , its not showing in other sections like forumhome , vbadvanced cmps or my gallery !!!!

I even used a custom plugin instead of your product but it was the same , its so strange, please take a look at the screenshots and my custom plugin, I have no idea what is causing this issue.

I can provide you my templates in pm if they are needed ...

really appreciate your help.

thank you

My Custom plugin : (Hook Location : Global Start)

PHP Code:

if ($vbulletin->userinfo['avatarid'])

// using a predefined avatar

$avatar $db->query_first("SELECT avatarpath FROM " TABLE_PREFIX "avatar WHERE avatarid = " $vbulletin->userinfo[avatarid] . "");

$avatarid $avatar['avatarid'];

$navbaravatar "<img src=\"" $vbulletin->options[bburl] . "/$avatar[avatarpath]\" alt=\"Your Avatar\" border=\"0\" class=\"avatar\" style=\"width:150px\" />"

else

// not using a predefined avatar, check for custom

if ($avatar $db->query_first("SELECT dateline, userid FROM " TABLE_PREFIX "customavatar WHERE userid = " $vbulletin->userinfo[userid] . ""))
    {

// using a custom avatar

$navbaravatarurl = ($vbulletin->options['usefileavatar']) ? "" $vbulletin->options[avatarurl] . "/avatar$avatar[userid]_" $vbulletin->userinfo[avatarrevision] . ".gif" "" $vbulletin->options[bburl] . "/image.php?u=" $vbulletin->userinfo['userid'] . "&amp;dateline=" $avatar['dateline'] . "";

$navbaravatar "<img src=\"$navbaravatarurl\" alt=\"Your Avatar\" border=\"0\" class=\"avatar\" style=\"width:90px\" />";
    }
    else
