Hi,

I'm getting this message, probably when someone register to my forums, as I normally receive messages everytime someone register to the forums.

"Could not find phrase 'newuser'."

but facebook gives me an error:

An error occurred while creating a feed story from the template and template data you provided. The specific error is listed below:

Supplied template data does not cover the following tokens [bburl] needed for template '{*actor*} just became a member of .'

Any other examples i can use?

Can you check that your Facebook application settings are completely correct?

Can you complate this mod?

You need to fully remove the other facebook addon. The mod is complete, only a very few things need to be done, and this isn't a problem with this mod.

The field associated signifies if the user chose to associate an existing vB account to the Facebook/Google Friend Connect account.
Since the Facebook users can do more than just login (publish feeds etc), the table vbnexus_facebookuser contains their userid and on/off flags for their Facebook userCP settings.

I hope that helps :)

Thanks

That helps alot. I should be able to throw together a script to move the data over.

I do have a couple of questions on the vbmexus_facebookuser table. This functionality is handled globaly on the Facebook Connect mod (at least from what I can tell). Can I leave this empty during my import or should I try to populate it with generic defaults for each user?

Also is the ID the local VB id or the Facebook ID?

Thanks again.

This is really cool mod ever!
Thanks for sharing

Nice mod and as peggy mentioned it does conflict with one of the auto thread tagging mods.

I need to finish testing and setting it up but so far it is a fantastic addition to the forum.

shuwarriors 08-16-2009 01:40 AM

I don't know where i've gone wrong but when i am sent back to our forum from either facebook or google all that loads is a completely empty page.

Could someone please let me know where i've gone wrong :(

im getting the same problem as the user you replied to, i had the other facebook mod installed and i do believe i completely removed it. what are the settings for the application supposed to be besides the callback? at first i was receiving fatal errors when setting up the templates, but now im just receiving the application error attempting to publish to facebook.

I guess you missed this one eh?

ZiG 08-16-2009 05:30 AM

i think i figured out my problem with the feed templates, and im not sure what is going on here...

the feed templates are all using the ID# 2147483647, when the ID numbers for the feeds that were successfully created in the facebook application are all different. when i attempt to set the feed templates to the correct ID #'s and hit save, the number reverts back to 2147483647 no matter what. i have attempted to edit these settings in the SQL table itself through phpmyadmin with no success, it still calls to the ID 2147483647, and I even reinstalled the mod with no success...

im going to try and get rid of the tables altogether and reinstall right now.

******

no didn't work, i dropped the nexus tables in phpmyadmin and it is still reverting back to the ID# 2147483647 and calling to this ID for all of the feed templates regardless of what is inserted into the options, whenever i save the options it also reverts back to this id # so thats my only problem with this mod right now

******

oh ok, i see why this is happening. its because my ID #'s are to high for the feed template. 2147483647 is the highest that value will go, because if you set it 1 number lower it saves correctly, but if you set it higher it just stays at that value. my feed ID's are much larger, 138188342072 is one of them...

how can this be fixed?

This is the same problem im having! Have tried everything but no joy! I have just disabled those 4 feeds for now and the rest of the mod seems to work fine. The PM notification in facebook works just fine.

Just to clarify the problem is with:

Sign up Template Bundle ID
New Reply Template Bundle ID
New Thread Template Bundle ID
Album Template Bundle ID

Any fix?

daveaite 08-16-2009 09:27 AM

Does anyone knows what file do I need to edit to translate this phrase?

Thanks in advance and congratulations for this add-on

Installed, and seems to be working so far (at least when I tested using my Google account to make another user account). All I need now is to test if Yahoo, AIM and Facebook registrations work, and it'll all be good.

I'm still not getting the prompt to publish posts/threads to facebook.

and when Wayne Luke posted to the board, He got an Application response error when he posts from his FB account. I'm not getting those when I post from mine, but he is.

Isn't that odd?

Download the mod again, and check the the final time, becuase that mod, when included, looks for the aforementioned file.

???
i don't understand what you're talking about. what doesn't exist? i stated the issue only issue i was having was with the facebook template feed ID #'s...

Sorry, I thought you were having other issues.

The mod does state not to change the defaul feed IDs, not sure why.

ZiG 08-16-2009 11:02 PM

well, regardless of what i do whether or not i install the mod fresh or whatever...the template feeds i am creating have ID #'s that are too large for the options of this mod. that is the problem I am having, and all of the feeds point to the maximum ID # of 2147483647

is there a way I can make my template feed ID #'s smaller in facebook? why are my template feed ID #'s so big, or is there a way that I can increase the minimum amount from 2147483647?

Delita 08-17-2009 12:08 AM

This is a incredible useful add-on. I hope you can add more services on this mod like MSN/Live.

Ohiosweetheart 08-17-2009 01:05 AM

whew let's get the ones it's already got fixed first. ;)

toonysnn 08-17-2009 06:50 AM

I'm tagging this for now, have no time on my hands. Maybe I can try and help out a bit, but APIs aren't my favorite thing in the world. :p

Thanks for this addon, I must say, I've been looking for this, as many of my friends.

Is there a way to set it up so that new members are forced to register before they can post? I have an elaborate screening process due to all my private forums and I have to have them register to go through it.

IF cannot do this then can I set so only available to registered members?

cad2go 08-17-2009 03:40 PM

I'm getting

"Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in [path]/includes/init.php(298) : eval()'d code on line 610"

on a cms page now too.

Uninstalled and it goes away.

The mod itself works fine. Is this a plot by ib to break all cms's?! :D

Some notes from my transition to vb Nexus from Facebook Connect.

The following Query will move the user ID and Facebook ID to the vBNexus tables. Please replace the vb_ with your database prefix if you have one.

Code:

INSERT INTO vb_vbnexus_nonvbuser (userid, nonvbid)
SELECT userid, fbuid
FROM vb_fbuser

The two mods do not like each other. Once you get the tables moved disable Facebook Connect and remove the navbar template changes.

I will update as I test more. So far it worked well with an existing user from Facebook Connect.

Update: Google button not working in vBadvanced. Looks like a path issue. The login is not displaying at all outside of vB, even though I am sending the Navbar and Footer templates. The second part is due to my setup, ill probably have to do some fancy plugin work to fix that one.

I also noticed that the new members are being put into the Registered Users group despite me setting the default user group. I believe this was listed in a previous post as a bug.

This. The other facebook login didnt work for me so I hope this does, I would like to see your demo working before I install though.

Does this work fully for anyone?

This looks good, is there anyway of getting a Windows Live ID? That would put the icing on the cake.

Thanks,

Calash 08-17-2009 10:52 PM

It work great for me. My problems are due to external scripts that link into vB, not the mod.

My good friend, I am not 100% sure as to what you are requesting. Please PM me, it sounds like you need advice on customizing something in this product and that's not necessarily related to this product.
