Is the latest version almost ready to roll out?
|
I sure hope so! I can't wait to upgrade to this one from the older version! :)
|
Next version released that solves the issue of "Welcome Unregistered"
If you wish to link to the members profile in the text of the thread, you will need to do it the following way: PHP Code:
|
Is there a way to have the new user be the poster of the thread?

I have a problem!
Seems like this program is randomly selecting the IPs too!! :o This makes IP checking for fakers/double accounts very hard! For example it has now given me Polish and German IPs (from other users) even though I'm from Finland. I need some kind of fix for this as soon as possible. Ideal solution would be of course that it would use the poster's last used IP, or no IP at lal (if possible?). |
This just doesn't work right. :)
Even after the update many threads are not created and I just got one titled "Welcome" and subject of just "Glad you could find us !". Great idea but it simply doesn't work as planned. I'll be uninstalling this now. |
Didn't work for me either, unfortunately. I've just installed it, but a thread didn't get created for our last two new members that joined after the installation.
|
Is the post icon not working for anyone else? It seems to be posting the default thread icon instead of the one I select for it.

Ive tested this with hundreds on sign ups on a new vb installation and cant replicate this error with the new version. It dosent help with not being told what your subject and text content is and whether your using before or after email verification. |

yesterday i installed this hack but m having some problem can you please check it
http://ittaleem.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3 instead of wellcome $username few threads are only wellcome with no username inside and outside what can be the problem ? |
hello is there any way to have the thread populate in a subforum rather than a forum? (this mod and your other other one for welcoming new registers)
EDIT: never mind....figured it out |
thanks for the update power...
Theres another issue.. it creates the thread and sometimes all is fine, but most times it omits the user name.. just says welcome ! etc. .. no user names Later |
I just cant seem to recreate this problem. Have you got it set to before or after email validation?
|

Works great. But if we tick the box, that creates the thread AFTER the user has confirmed registration via email, we get a database error.
Anyone else have this issue? |
Creates threads without usernames for me aswell as one when the user registers.
Ie. When a user regs, and after they've confirmed email is creates them a thread, but also creates a few random ones too with no username there. |
thanks, this is nice

I installed this on my board (vB 3.8.3)
Installation and setup went fine. However, I have my vB Registration Options configured so that a user must confirm registration through email before registration is complete. When the user clicks the link in the email, they are confronted with a Database error. The Database error email I get, states the following: MySQL Error : Table 'XXXXXXXXXX.useractivation' doesn't exist However, my table name for the useractivation table is XXXXXXXXXX.vb_useractivation. I tried a test account...got the same database error everyone else is getting when they register. Disabled your product...and now email confirmation works. So...it would seem this mod is not compatible with 3.8.3. Currently, your mod is disabled on my board until you can direct me on how to resolve this issue. Your mod version that I am using is version 1.2.2. |
this doesnt work for me, no thread is created!

yeah I installed it
but having problems. Does not make the thread. Made some threads at the start, but cant even find them. They do list in the latest threads but are not accessable. Looks like it is going to go to disable. I really like the idea too. |
This mod is working great on 3.8.3 but there is a major bug in it when it posts the new thread it links the admin ip with the new users ip I now have over 400 ip's linked to my account I can see this as causing trouble in the future for banning an ip anyone have a work around for this.

Finally someone else noticed it too.. |
I just tried this as well today but I have had to turn it off.
I was also getting no username in title or the post which makes it look stupid. |
no ip problem with me version 3.8.3
no threads problem also but only facebook connect users dont make new thread ... Any help there ? |
Can this be adjusted to where it is not automatic for new registrations but as a pre-template for a particular category in general? Like say, if I have a request section, it will use the pre template when starting a thread in that area and not on new registrations
|
seems like a great ideat but too many problems it seems. I have installed it and finally turned it off because it will create a thread but no one can reply to it and half the time you can't find it.
