I really love the idea of this app & plugin, but its performance on my site is problematic. I have a very large, very busy site and the load times of the forums index and individual forum index pages are very, very slow. If a forum has 20,000 or 30,000 threads in it, this system appears to be processing information for all of them before returning any information. On the busier forums, I am getting page load times in Tapatalk of 1 minute or more. I am testing this with the iPhone logged into my local network via Wi-Fi, so this isn't a bandwidth issue. The site loads quite a bit faster in Safari, with all the visual overhead, then these stripped down pages are loading. This system also does not appear to recognize sticky threads and I was disappointed to see that it doesn't interace with the PM system.

I really do think this is the start of a great idea. It will need to mature a bit before I launch it on my site though. Eric

I just tried installing the plugin that I downloaded here, versus the version I downloaded from the Tapatalk website. Although the Tapatalk app sees the version from here as an older version and not all features are functional in the app, the forum index and thread pages load substantially faster using that version of the plugin. We have fixed this performance issues and submitted to Apple for an update to the app that you have downloaded. If you are interested to see what's the latest give me a PM of your UDID I will send you a Beta version to try out.

Again I expect the update pending from Apple will resolve these performance issues.

A small glitch appears in our server breaks user registration - it should be working by now. FYI.

While not much immediate update going on from the iPhone app side, we are pleased to announce the Analytics support of Tapatalk where forum owners can check how well the Tapatalk do in their forum.

The idea is to provide similar dataset as Pinch Media, Admob or any other mobile app analytic provider - and as a forum owner you can check how many people is using the Tapatalk to access your forum, and the time spent on it, etc.

We have released Tapatalk Plugin for vBulletin as version 1.0.1 - please grab your copy if you have not updated it. We have fixed few minor bugs and one very annoying problem of not able to jump to latest posts if a thread contains more than 1000 posts. It appears to be working correctly now.

- Now support customized default forum icon! This is useful if you really hate the "microphone" default forum icon . All you need to do is to place a PNG image as "default.png" in mobiquo/forum_icons/ directory. Today we have got version 1.3 of Tapatalk iPhone app released at Apple app store - a small milestone over the 1.2.1 version. This version has added:

- Personalization - you can customize which tabs to appear on the tab bar, e.g. if you move the "Latest" to leftmost, it will automatically load once your app starts!
- Full support of Pagination - now you can flip thru pages in a long thread just like on web browser, only much easier!
- Able to see who is currently online and send instant private message to them with just a tap
- Forum Statistic - a simple tab that lists all your forum statistic (where your forum security allows) include number of currently online users, total number of posts and members, etc.
- Added Italian, Swedish and Czech language support
- plus number of bug fixes

Do I just upload the entire subdirectory called "mobiquo-1" to the root of my vBulletin directory?

I deleted the download. Just read on your site that it doesn't support 3.68 which is what we're running and with over 10,000 members and a lot of mods running just fine, we're have no intention of upgrading to 3.8. :D

Our members use a "mobile skin" and seem to be happy with it.

Too bad, as I'm even an iPod user and I was looking forward to that option ... :D

I see how you feel. If I remember correctly you are the forth one requesting 3.6.x support. We might look into it if time permits :)

We have submitted the latest iPhone app version 1.4 to Apple few days ago with "Edit" function where you can open you post in edit mode and save the change on the fly.. I hope you guys will like it. In addition we have reworked the pagination and full screen images display logic to make it more stable and usable.

I will let you guys know as soon as it is approved.

Make sure you upgrade your plugin (MOD) to version 1.1 to take advantage the new feature.. Cheers.

Today we received a letter from Apple that our app is rejected because of use of "Private API" (read this if you interested to know more: http://groups.google.com/group/three...5046771539d139) - We are going to submit a new app later tonight and keep our finger crosses.

On a bright side it allows us to include a lot more fixes and tweaks to improve the iPhone app, namely:

- better pagination support - the pagination bar will be scrollable up-and-down with the thread view to allow more viewing space, and added "Previous Page" and "Next Page" button at the bottom.
- less crashes - we expect the update will be more (much more) stable than 1.3
- better full screen images support - able to view more images where 1.3 had problem to view
- Edit Post - you can edit the post that you had previously submitted
- "New Posts" - a special place where it shows the latest unread posts. Also topic will be highlighted with blue-dot to indicate unread topics

I've got close to 90,000 members with a ridiculous amount of mods and probably won't upgrade for quite some time. Last time I upgraded, it took me close to 12 hours.

Looks like the Blackberry version is in full stream - we have finished the majority of the backend work and is now tweaking the UI to make it pretty and usable. Attached is a quick sneak of what it is like running in the ugly emulator.

At least we are assure you this won't be long until it is available. Like what we had delivered in Nokia and Android app a month ago.
