i have vbulletin 3.8.1 too - no SEO installed too - i forget to add this earlier

hi, any thoughts if these fixes might come in the next release? have put installing it on hold...
am currently using phpclassifieds bridged into vb, but that does not integrate styles etc.

How do I uninstall this mod? If there is no fix for the blank classifieds.php I would like to remove it all together.

easy - delete folder that contained the classifieds and delete the plugin too

You can uninstall it as every vB product. Goto your admicp->Plugins & Products. On the list on the right choose Classifieds and from the droplist choose Uninstall.
Sorry but your problem has nothing to do with the module itsself but it has to do with your server configuration, and I'm not a server guru to know what halts it from working.

In my country we dont use paypal, I had installed the mod but I cant use it.

I got it installed and working. But I cannot upload any photo's. I select a photo to include with the ad and I don't get any error message, just the new ad posted without a photo.

Any ideas?

• You can't see the link to add an ad
• You're getting permissions errors
• You can't save the Ad
• You save it but you can't see it

I go to myforums/classifieds.php and can then see the usual stuff with navigation on the left side and the category i created next to that in the middle. I then click on either "add classified" or "post yours now", input my classified ad and then click "Save" and then get the error:
As I posted in the screen shot above, I've enabled everything, given myself permissions as both an admin and in every other usergroup I have but still cannot save a new ad.

I also logged in as just a registered user to try it and same result.

Seems that for some reason during the time that you're writting the Ad, you're loosing the session (you logout by the system). At that part, and for more security, there are 2 permissions checks. One during entering the form (which you pass it) and the 2nd when the system is trying to save the data. Seems that at this point the system can't authenticate you.

Could you please PM your URL to try to post an Ad?

This is an interesting mod but can somebody tell me if there are expiration times for the ads. Can you set, for example, 30 days after which the ads will automatically be deleted?

Yes...

When you create your categories, you can set the following:

Hide or Delete
In this category only



then when actually creating/placing an ad:

choose your date for expiration


So I would think the best choice might be to set the category setting to something like 30 days and then individual ads to 7, 14, etc....

Well, I've got this installed and added a category to test. I have my usergroup set to allow me to post an ad but am having the same problem as the poster above. When I try to "save" my ad, I too get the "no permissions" error. Usergroup is set to allow me to do so but it's not working. I'm running 3.8.1.

I've registered to his site, but still I'm waiting his authorization to be able to login and check it. If you want me to check your, PM me or post here your URL.

This is an awesome add on. I got it installed and working great. I do have a question for other users of this add on.
Does anyone know if there is a way to show the newest ad's say the last 3 or 4 on the home page of a VbAvanced website? Similar to the Newest column shown in the classifieds screen showing the little picture of the item.

If I'll have some free time I'll post blocks for vBa next weekend. But in general, you can use the query including in classifieds.php or classifieds/includes/functions.php

I think that it should works. Paste the code in a file and name it as_you_want.php Upload it to vBa modules directory and then from your AdminCP choose: vBa CMPS->Add Module->PHP File and setup it as:

Module Title : Anything you want to appear as title
Column : Left or Right for side modules, Center for Central modules.
Display order : Better let it blank
Active : YES
Update all pages : It's up to you
File to include : From the droplist choose the right file
Template used : Let it blank
Module Parent : None
Identifier : A good way is to write the file name without ".php"
Clean File Output : YES
Use Module Shell Template : YES

This is a great mod and for a regular forum, Im sure its fantastic, but Id actually USE it if it were a little more versatile.

Its an add on of vB yet it does not actually integrate. When something is sold via an ad, there is no notification of any kind on the forum.

PayPal is the ONLY payment option. I dont know about other genre forums, but in gaming, PayPal is notoriously not welcome due to ease of chargeback.

In gaming, some items are virtual game items and selling for real money is illegal. You dont give any kind of way to modify the money values to anything other than the drop down list.

Yours is like the 100th Classifieds script/mod I have tried on my site. >< Gamers need more generalized products!

I was able to duplicate this error by visiting 2 sites. The only that I can say is that in both sites I saw something strange, all fields to be with default value "1", something that it's not coming from my code. Also, I noticed that both sites are using custom smilies, something that maybe causes the problem.

I'm sorry but I can't do something more, as I don't have 3.8.x installed, and because this issue happen only to small percentage of 3.8 installations, which means that they have a system misconfiguration.

Removed all custom smilies from my forum... can you take another look. Only using the stock vbulletin smilies now.

Looking at the code in FireBug it does look like the default value of "1" is in your code:

I followed the install instruction but still have an issue, or I missed something, please help.

Step 1: Upload all files and directories including at "vbulletin" directory to the
directory where vBulletin is installed.

Done. Verified the file count in each directory is correct. Uploaded the vBulletin and all
sub directories but not the classified directory.

Step 2: CMOD the following directories to 777
/photos (inside classifieds directory)
/tmp (inside classifieds/photos directory)
/thumbs (inside classifieds/photos directory)

Step 3: For security reasons backup your database AND turn your board off

Step 4: Check at your AdminCP->vBulletin Options->Plugin/Hook System that Plugin

I have vBulletin 3.8.1 and vbseo 3.3.0 RC1. I have installed but not working classifieds, all the time blank page. I have vbseo off, I added write the rules, I've removed, I reinstalled classifieds, but it does not work.

I think it's a great mod, someone has fixed the blank page?

I'm not sure but wonder if this is the main problem:

It may be unclear what is meant here. It sounds like you are supposed to upload the vbulletin folder with the other folders inside just as in the zip file. I'm just not at all sure that is what was intended though. When I did that, I simply got blank pages. I then started over and uploaded the folders and files within that vbulletin folder but NOT the vbulletin folder itself. I just uploaded the admin, photos, etc. to the root directory of my forum.

I could then access the classifieds page. Now after that, I had other problems and so have given up on this but I'm just trying to help.

This is the output producted by the browser:) . If you check the code at: classifieds.php line 135, it says:
It's a vB's standard command to check that the variable adid (if exists) is secure of injections. On Add mode this must be 0, in edit mode it must has the classifieds id. For some unknown reason it get's value 1.

If it was coming from the code, all users should have the same problem. But as you can see in a total of 100+ installations (for all vB versions), there are only 2 issues. Also note that none developer can check all 3nd party mods that someone may has installed, or different server configurations. This mod has been developed with 3.6.8 in a fresh vB installation and with NONE 3nd party addon/module.

How it will works if you haven't upload the classified directory?? Maybe I misunderstood your meaning?

Be sure that file bitfield_classifieds.xml has been upload to your vbdir/includes

Ok, I've to admit that my English are is an average level, but I don't think so difficult to understand. It means: Upload all files and directories that you can find in the folder "vbulletin" (in you PC after unziping the classifieds.zip), at the directory where you've installed vBulletin. Some users name it forums, others community and some other upload it on the root directory. In simple words my classifieds.php file must be on the same directory (level) as the index.php file of vBulletin.

You have to figure that 90% of users with a vbulletin site don't have a "clean" install with no mods.

I'd much rather give you money for a branding free version but since it doesn't work, I can't.

and.... it looks as though there are more than 2 users reporting problems since this thread is full of users reporting the "blank page" issue....

I would LOVE to install this mod and would be happy to also pay $$$ for a branding-free option.

But the ONE MUST HAVE feature that seems to be missing in all these types of mods is a DISTANCE feature.

The vast majority of the internet forums are national and international. AND many needs for classified ads are NOT for products that can be shipped anywhere. My need is for PET listings for local adoptions and for local sources of hard-to-find, doesn't-make-sense-to-ship products and materials. I really need the ability for someone to be able to find ads that are NEAR THEM.

With google maps, this isn't as difficult as it used to be. You don't need zipcode tables anymore. All you need is latitude and longitude of the listing and the user to get the logic to work.

Filtering by Country, State, County, and Area Code would also be great.

Please, with honey and sugar on top, consider adding this capability to your application.

Well ... well... well... That's a very pitty story:cool: A year ago, I post here a module named vbFEngine. Nobody understood it's power. Seems that most users want plug-and-play module. It's my best module and it has the less downloads.:cool: Ok, I admit that it needs time for initial configuration. But it's a one time action.

Anything you wrote above is possible with that, and much more. Let's count the most important features:

1. Extra fields per category/subcategory/thirdcategory
2. Extra field type: 10 types (even for video, audio, zip search)
3. Unlimited (and different) rating questions per category/subcategory/thirdcategory
4. 3 types of interaction with other members. Just rating, amazon style reviews (I agree/Disagree), seperat forum thread for each post.
5. .... and many more:D

This module it's just a simple classifieds for general purposes.
