Dream, is there any way to enable html in the descriptions for each channel created? Maybe a chunk of code I can add or remove to a template?

you should have to remove htmlentities() in radioandtv.php where the description is being returned.

Hmm, interesting. I opened the radioandtv.php file in my editor and don't have any idea what occurence of (description) I'd have to edit. There's tons of code.

emailapphost 02-22-2009 09:23 AM

I am the admin and when I click the "Radio and TV" navigation bar I get this error message:

admin, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

FOUND IT:
I need to edit permissions settings - thanks.

Application is working great. Gave a small contribution. :)

But I desperately need an updated good list of TV stations.
I have installed the application, but might have to take it down if I cant get a good list fast.

Please post link to list if anyone has one. Thanks.

How do we get a really good file of all available TV stations up?
I am working on some, but this will take some time.

Anyone:
I am finding streams, but I am sometimes unable to find the original url for the source stream. How do you see what the real URL for the tv stream is?

trnim.com 02-23-2009 05:13 AM

thanks

It's not easy and there's no real way to instruct how to encapsulate the URL in order to embed. Mostly all of the big name streaming sites use different variations to their stream url.

Some just use the name of the stream, some use the raw rmtp string, some include both the channel and an id.

Unfortunately theres no real "easy" way.

emailapphost 02-24-2009 04:16 AM

This is a great app - thanks for making it!
I made a symbolic USD 10 donation right away.

I do not have the time or ability to spend the time to find and set up a file with all the available TV stations.

I would be willing to pay USD 100 for a really really good file of a lot of the available TV stations that is available. Perhaps others are willing to pitch in as well. I hope this can inspire someone to get going on making this file. It is a bit tedious work.

emailapphost 02-24-2009 05:54 AM

I am adding streams now, it is tedious.

If you find a stream you can right click on the actual window of the stream. "Properties" - will give you the url for the stream and you can index that.

I just uploaded all the channels partnering with Livestation.com - but they will only play for 15 minutes and then livestation will pitch to download their application.
This is tedious work! :)

This is the link for BBC from livestation.com

http://www.livestation.com/channels/...a96eed1938520a

But this link I believe is actually just a forward of the "underlying" link feed directly from BBC.
How do you get the actual underlying stream link?

thcf 02-24-2009 07:02 AM

This addon sucks, it does not work on a default install of a new macbook :(

hi Dream i've a trouble with your hack, into the ACP when i select into the cpnav the radio options i've a blank page ... any tip? i've tried to re-install your fabulous hack but the trouble remains ...

Dream 02-24-2009 02:02 PM

access the options going to vbulletin options > radio options. some other mod seems to eat the & on cpnav.

Ever stop to think that maybe it's the macbook and not the mod? the mod is awesome and that is complete disrespect for somebody whose created something and offers it for free.

You can also get started by selecting View>Source or right click on the page and select view source. From there look for the .swf, .flv extensions in the code or the player embed code. From there you can play with reconstructing the URLS once you've established they work in the mod.

THE__DRIFTER 02-25-2009 01:49 AM

I am having a bit of an issue. The mod itself seems fine and I can access it fine. The problem stems from having vBadvanced installed. When I go to my site and enter the forums everything is fine. If you enter here http://www.grumpyoldmen.us/forum/ The link to the player works fine as the window being called is
Code:

http://www.grumpyoldmen.us/forum/radioandtv.php
But if I go to the frontpage located at
Code:

http://www.grumpyoldmen.us
Then the link called is
Code:

http://www.grumpyoldmen.us/radioandtv.php
which of course doesn't exist and throws a 404 error. How can I set that link to point to the proper location or remove that instance from the navbar unless in the forum?

SuperTaz 02-25-2009 03:28 AM

I have mine on the site navigation on the portal page.

/forums/radioandtv.php

But, Dream can help you with the path issue.

THE__DRIFTER 02-25-2009 07:26 AM

I finally fixed in the nav template. Works perfect now.... :D

oh seems its a bug in libxml. anyway, that options link is just to facilitate things, you can access the radio options easily going to it using the vBulletin Options, so it's no real big deal (for the radio mod anyway).

THE__DRIFTER 02-25-2009 09:33 PM

Just recently noticed this...

@KURTZ : I am assuming by the link you posted a couple posts back that Vb is stating this &amp issue is php related then and not able to be fixed without the new version of php and/or going back a version in the lib.xml? If that is the case am I to assume this has caused the current issue I have. I just recently installed this mod last night and overall seemed fine. Added the "experience mod" today and now started getting this issue...

emailapphost 02-26-2009 04:48 AM

I belive someone posted some code that would enable the Radio and TV Player to open in regular vBulletin HTML pages (instead of in a popup like defualt).

Was this post and this code removed? I would like to try it out.

hi Dream, just wondering: can you rewrite a version of your hack with this fix, so we can reproduce this bug correctly?

Yes, seems to be. I just installed it yesterday and went to read emails and saw I started to get warnings. What I have not determined is what the users are doing to create that error. No one has complained about having an issue yet the errors come; you can be sure that if something wasn't working I would hear about it...

I posted a pic. I assume those are the categories you speak of? I did not do any manual database edits. As far as when, I really am not sure. There have been not reports of users having issues other than a few inoperative links. It seems to work overall.

Noticed while viewing that this particular site showed to our users as inoperative. It works for me fine but according to firebug (a FF addon) this is the information it shows.

RetroDreams 03-01-2009 03:27 PM

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if a dead station is deleted but it was in a user's favorites list, it leaves a blank row with a remove link. When you click remove, you get "Error: 'noid' is undefined noid" and you can't remove it.
