It appears that the query in its present form will only work on mysql 5.0.12 and above. Im afraid its highly unlikely I will change it, I dont have any installations of mysql4 any more, its very old now. I suggest you upgrade your mysql (or ask your host to, your apache version is ancient as well) .

Just to be safe, I think I will add a mysql dependancy to the XML file.
