quick note

http://www.varesano.net/blog/fabio/d...youtube+player

to disallow related videos, append &rel=0 to the url.
however,
this mod does not cater for the & after the video id code.

should be easy to fix.

RonH. 09-06-2008 06:23 PM

I've run out of ideas on how to fix a problem with this new Lite version. About an hour ago all my YouTube posts are showing two of the exact same URL post, i.e. two players in the same post of the exact same URL.

Example: http://www.thekaraokesinger.net/foru...?p=139#post139

But here http://www.thekaraokesinger.net/foru...hread.php?t=83 where I posted a (my first) URL when I had the last version of passiveVid - (YouTube, Myspace, Google...) Not BBCODE :D installed. I since uninstalled it per instructions and installed the Lite version and followed the instruction to rebuild the forum information. The first post I made using Lite seemed to work okay and I then deleted the test post but then after that it went to making double images of the player in the same post as show in the examples I showed above after that.

Anyone have a clue? I've uninstalled it twice, rebuilt the forum info each time and then reinstalled it again twice and rebuilt the forum info with the exact same results. If all else fails I will go back to using the previous (older) version even though I really don't want to do that if I don't have to. At least I know that works flawlessly for me. Any clues? I'm hoping it is something that I did wrong perhaps. If it helps I uploaded the first time the folder Upload/ but later deleted the folder as I did first misunderstand the instructions to just upload the contents instead.

I think there's a known bug when people try to use URL tags with it. I mean, look back a couple pages and you'll see I had those double players too. Maybe I still do in older posts, but when I edited the new ones to just have the youtube link by itself they worked fine.

Yes, so I had to make a choice and stick with the older Passive Video, and Automatic Thread Tagger. I want both, so I'll sick with what I have until one or the other is fixed so I can use version 2.0.

Peace,
Gene

RonH. 09-07-2008 03:14 PM

I went ahead and uninstalled version 2.0 Lite due to the double posting of the image of the player bug and will reinstall it when the double posting of YouTube links get resolved or worked out. It is a fine product but it still needs some work before it is ready for prime time. At least on my forum and apparently some others as well. When it is finally fixed and has proven itself I will purchase it. Thanks.

vitrag24 09-09-2008 06:54 AM

i had initially 1.1.2 and now uninstalled it and installed this one on my vbulletin 3.7.1.

But after installing i tried to create a thread in one section and it's showing following error:

i would like to purchase premium version if lite version works properly on my forum.
rightnow i;ve disabled mod on my forum to avoid it.

KURTZ 09-09-2008 01:01 PM

hi, news about the new release (2.01)?

mickknutson 09-09-2008 03:48 PM

I want to know if there is a way I can support inlining the videos I have in vBtube:
http://blincmagazine.com/forum/vbtube.php

Such as using the "Link to share":
Code:

http://blincmagazine.com/forum/vbtube_show.php?do=tube&tubeid=436&t=26503
http://blincmagazine.com/forum/vbtub...id=436&t=26503

Fungsten 09-09-2008 05:08 PM

I'm getting the double videos with YouTube too.

PossumX 09-09-2008 10:25 PM

Untagging, uninstalling 1.1.2...

Maybe the coder is on vacation, who knows. Coders Shack mods are typically real tight, but this version for 3.7.x has issues, as many have noted. Quite unfortunate, as this was my choice of mods for video rendering from other sites. Switched to another due to these issues.

mickknutson 09-12-2008 02:32 PM

Can someone please tell me how to be able to inline videos from vBtube:
http://blincmagazine.com/forum/vbtub...id=484&t=26553

I have tried using the embedded code like :
Code:

<object width="470" height="400"><param name="movie" value="http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/x6iow3"></param><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/x6iow3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="470" height="400" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
But that does not work.
So I want to take the videos in my own site, and spread them around in my forums as well.

PtitLu 09-12-2008 10:00 PM

Was perfect, until upgrade to vbulletin 3.7.3. Since this upgrade, i have this error when trying to preview a post :

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /var/www/forums/includes/functions_newpost.php(1174) : eval()'d code on line 1

Deactivating the product solves this error :(

vitrag24 09-14-2008 04:44 PM

no feedback yet?
Please look at https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=117

Greek76 09-14-2008 09:54 PM

Im uninstalling it to. I get the double video youtube thing to and we shouldnt have to register to his forum inorder to get support. If he posts his mod here he should be able to support it here aswell.

Videx 09-15-2008 12:01 AM

I don't see any support posts there newer than 8/26 when a version 2.01 was promised.

Kkimber 09-16-2008 05:27 AM

no support.
if can use it 3.7.3 don't work.
if can use it 3.7.3 don't pay it pro version don't work.

The Notorious 09-20-2008 01:43 AM

It works for me also, just the preview message doesn't show up at all...

working great now though.

thanks.

I'm not gonna switch from 1 to 2 if people have to use Insert Link. That is irrelevant in the long scheme of things since then it's requiring tags and BB code to post the video, which is not what the old version did.

Videx 09-24-2008 11:54 PM

That worried me when I saw it too, but I still haven't figured out what he meant by it, because it's simply not true.

There are other issues though. It's really odd how the coder seems to have bailed suddenly just after release.

Well he claimed he hadn't seen his woman in a while and I can understand that, but still if you're gonna sell something even at 5 bucks, it's gotta work. Plus I don't see why the upgrade of the product actually makes less things work. Especially if you bought the Pro version.

I only need cnn.com added and I'm set, we don't allow our users to have all the options this thing allows anyway, as we can't have porn stuff all over our site for example.

Hostboard 09-26-2008 04:14 PM

There is an issue with this mod and vBSEO (Lite & Pro). Reported fix for 2.0.1 on 8.24ish which is aorund the last time I have seen Chad post. Anyone know him and can contact him?

Edit:

Until the author resurfaces I sould suggest reading both the threads here and at his site to determine if any of the known bugs might effect you.

Does this modification works as is? Yes
Are there some issues? Yes

Does the Pro version work? Yes
Are there some issues? Yes

Would never have purchased the pro version knowing the author was MIA and resolutions to the issues were in limbo. Hopefuly he will come back in force and will get back on track with this great mod.

Until then YMMV

Awesome plugin.
Installed and nominated it too :)

Vbulletin last version

Hostboard 10-06-2008 02:23 PM

There have been many posts with issues with Chad's software. Unfortunatly though his site shows he has recently logged in he has not replied to any public posts for a long time. Like you I made the purchase and quickly found there were some issues. Started reading throuhg posts and found it was not just me. Unfortunatly also found out support was non-existant as of late. Too bad as I ran his mods in the past and have worked exceptionaly well and wanted to support his efforts.

Hopefully Chad will resurface and be able to fix the few issues. Until then I have unistalled and went with "the other" solution on vborg.

introlux2 10-09-2008 12:21 AM

Mine is working on 3.7.3 without no probs! The only problem I have is selecting and deselecting the video types i want and dont want.

Any idea where I can find this setting??

introlux

introlux2 10-09-2008 12:35 AM

safakuygur 10-13-2008 02:35 PM

very nica thanks

jkcerda 10-14-2008 06:33 PM

looks cool

TMH63 10-14-2008 06:43 PM

Ok....so I uploaded the xml.

Do I have to upload any files to my forum directory(or some other directory??)??

The whole "upload" folder or specific contents of it?

TMH63 10-14-2008 08:40 PM

Ok...so I uploaded the "contents" of upload into the same directory as showthread.php and she ain't workin.

updated counters....Nothing!

Hostboard 10-14-2008 10:30 PM

The upload folder contains 2 directories: clientscript & includes

Both these directories exist in your VB directory and should be copied up.

for example if your forums are located at: http://www.YouDomain.com/forums/

Then you copy the 2 directories to forums/clientscript & forums/includes

Then go toy our ACP -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Products and add/import this file: product-passivevideo.xml

Unfortunatly the author is MIA so support will be minimal except for those of us that pass by from time to time in hopes he returns. There is another solution here that seems to be well supported and covers many more media types. In the mean time good luck with your forums and hope this got you up and running :)

zionsworld 10-19-2008 01:21 PM

Question... How to remove the frame (with title) around the video?

Freddy.k 10-19-2008 04:46 PM

Merci ............

basskiller 10-26-2008 12:16 AM

using lite.. it worked for awhile.. But then it just stopped
Now it parses the youtube url as if trying to link to it using BB url tags.. but now hypertext words that follow the link
example
when I try tp post this
Code:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G61d0feaIg
for one it won't let me post the link alone.. like I used to. so now I have to add a description in the boby of the tread..

but when I do.. the link comes out blank
and when I click on edit.. it looks like this
Edit..I have to break up the link for it to be shown
Code:

[u r l= http :/ / ww w.yout ube.com/watch?v=1G61d0feaIg][/url]
Now if I disable the plugin, then clean out the url bb tags .. make the post.. It comes up like a link..
Then enable the plugin again and go back to the thread..
It comes up as it should.

I have vbseo installed, but that was even prior to the installation of the mod.. It worked at first and now.. It's a pain in the ass..
While I know what to do..The members can't post any links to any videos.. They just don't work.. unless I disable and enable the plugin all the time.. That just isn't going to happen..

I really do like this mod!! Just wish there were solutions to the problems

YouTube has enabled deep linking:
http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/10/25...within-videos/

Deep linking does not seem to be working with this system yet. It would be great to see that integrated into an upcoming release.

Thanks for this great addition to vBulletin, keep up the good work!

MTV just came out with all their music vidoes online!!

http://www.mtvmusic.com/video/?id=55086

Can you make an embedded player for it? TIA.

DoDe 11-13-2008 09:27 AM

In the product-passivevideo.xml after every:
Code:

src='
add:
Code:

{$vbulletin->options['bburl']}/
in order to work with VBA

Thank you

xoclanes 11-25-2008 06:01 PM

what about widescreen videos in youtube?

ShackMaster 11-25-2008 07:03 PM

<a href="http://www.hometheatershack.com" target="_blank">http://www.hometheatershack.com</a>

Not working with vBAdvanced on our home page. In the two 007 reviews the YouTube links you see are embedded properly in the forum original thread, but not here.

EDIT: This hack has now been removed and another that actually works installed.
