This is currently the full version. However, prority support, enhancements which go beyond "slow motion" :) and personalized additions, which will never make part of this package, are for customers only.

Have you replaced the files which come with the product and verified they were replaced (some FTP won't allow to overwrite)?

If yes, from which version are you upgrading?

PS: How comes that rbs_url_sanity() is declared in functions.php?

Jaxel 10-06-2008 08:11 PM

Is it possible to get both banner sets seperated in the banner list? Horizontal and Vertical I mean?

This is a style and browser issue and I consider myself a very unskilled designer ;)

i'm upradig from version. 2.0.3 ..
The problem: your new version is incomaptible with
http://www.vbdesigns.de/products/vbu...ystem-1-5.html
if you enabled the vbcms in the forum >> fatal error
The old Version works fine with the portal system

The instructions tell to install the contents of the upload folder in the package or, if you proceed manually, to copy the files in the respective folders. The XML file you find in the upload/includes/xml/ folder adds the menu entries to the AdminCP.

The product XML file itself is before the upload folder hierarchy, thus should not be uploaded. It must be used to install the product from within the Product Manager of the vbulletin AdminCP, instead.

Try to rename rbs_url_sanity inside the product installation file product-rbs.xml to something else, e.g. rbs_url_sanity2. This should fix it. I'll repair this ASAP.

Yes I understand that, but you have two xml files there, the product-rbs one I have installed and everything is running fine, but you have another xml file called it-rbs, it's not a product file, what must I do with this file? Thanks.

The it-rbs.xml file contains the Italian phrases. Sorry I forgot completely about this :)

For getting the click counts to work, it is necessary to enable click tracking (on each banner). Click tracking works for image banners only. It also adds a little overhead on each click, since the database must be opened and a query is issued.

Thanks y2ksw, I allready have the click traking enable on each banners, but... don´t work.

Attaching 2 print.

Maybe my english Is not good and I don´t understand "Click tracking works for image banners only" cause the banner is an image.

y2ksw 10-12-2008 09:42 PM

Yeah, I see: place the insidebox URL into the URL field. Then put the full or partial URL of inside.jpg into the Image field, and put Inside XBox 360 into the Name field and delete the content of the Text field. Set also the target in the Banner Options (bottom) to _blank (default). Then click tracking will work, promise :)

Use the Text field only for banners which can't be expressed as images, such as Google AdSense scripts and similar, or images which have a very specific format or additional information the standard mode can't show.

You may setup a banner with the Forum Home option checked. This banner will show on all pages which have no specific forum id, such as the vbAdvanced home. If you have no Forum Home banners you are set.

However, if you have banners which show on all forums (no forum selected) or Forum Home, they also will appear on those pages. Thus, you must assign explicitly the forums to all banners in order to avoid they are appearing at unwanted places.

Anyway, it is currently not possible to assign a banner to a specific place (and probably never will be). The only possibility would be to "abuse" the vertical banner placeholder for telling it should be used in vbAdvanced instead elsewhere. This requires you don't have vertical banners in Forum Home, or vice-versa.

Sorry, this didn't fix the problem ....

RichieBoy67 10-14-2008 06:14 PM

Can we use more than one place holder in a single template? Like say I wanted to have 2 --460 by 60 banners next to each other but both having multiple rotastional banners behind them... Is there any way to do this???

The new version should fix it though ... the conflicting function is renamed everywhere in the product.

You can use as many placeholders you wish. You only have to ensure they are not messing up your page.

For example, if you have two wide banners horizontally next to each other, they may stretch the page a little ;)

RichieBoy67 10-15-2008 06:13 PM

How can I have 2 different place holders in a single template displaying different banners when placeholders are displayed by using "@vbbanners@"--If there was an easy way to add more place holders like maybe "@vbbanners@1" "@vbbanners@2" etc...

Am I correct?

Thanks,

webdevoman

You may use as many @vbbanners@ placeholders you need in a single page, and the procedure will show for each instance a different banner - if there are so many in your database (else blank).

Currently there are no other placeholders available, but you may user the vertical one if you have only horizontal banners (or vice-versa), instead.

RichieBoy67 10-16-2008 12:42 PM

You are saying that if I placed two placeholders in a single template right next to each other they would not display a duplicate rotation?

Videx 10-16-2008 03:32 PM

Since the rotation is random, they could, at times, show the same ad. But the mod has a separate list for vert and horiz banners, so I suppose you could just make sure there was no duplicate banner in the two sections.

SVTCobraLTD 10-16-2008 05:15 PM

Installed and working on 3.6.10. The unlimited banners is the best part along with keeping track of impressions and clicks.

Right. The mod reads all available banners into a list, shuffles and picks one after the other until none is left. Eventual remaining placeholders are blank.

bulldog71169 10-17-2008 01:34 AM

I am running 2.03

is this fixed in the newest version?

Right. That one applies for a bug, which will be fixed in the next release. If you switch click tracking off, and a full URL is specified, it should work though.

The Text field simply hold any kind of HTML, including adsense or similar scripts.

If you have a simple image banner, such as the purple banner on your site, you place in the Name field a message which shows as a tooltip, URL field the destination (e.g.: http://www.purple.com/), and in the Image field the banner image URL (e.g.: http://www.norcalaircooledgroup.org/...ers/purple.jpg), which will be then inserted into the <img src ...> tag, and leave the Text field empty.

bulldog71169 10-17-2008 01:54 AM

disregard... updated to 2.06 and works fine now. Thank you!

Apolo. 10-17-2008 02:39 AM

Hi,

For this update to take place, is it just a matter of uploading the new files?

Thank you.

bulldog71169 10-17-2008 02:45 AM

Upload new files overwriting the old ones
then import the product xml file (overwrite old file)

RichieBoy67 10-17-2008 02:55 AM

Well it works fine but not for using more than one placeholder in a template- It shows the same exact banner in duplicate right next to each other- Using a vertical placeholder and the horizontal next to each other works..

Thanks for your help..

Apolo. 10-17-2008 02:56 AM

Thanks for the directions bulldog71169!

Are you using scripted or image banners? If scripted, they may show up the same but because of the underlaying script, which decides to show two times the same banner (should not occur with Google).

And of course, if you have the same banner more times in the database, it will be chosen, too ;)
