The instructions are posted, if you do not have any of the stated ways of backing up the tables you can ask someone to help you install the hack. (we can do that :) )

The postbit is a cached variable from within the awards_postbit_display template.

Could you elaborate more on this, I think I know where your going with this but not 100% sure.

Since I am still in progress of adding awards to my current board this is my current awards graphics dir, there are alot of awards in here, mainly military based but thats just me. you can weed out what you like/dislike, I will get more and post them as well over time. Also a lot of these are not yet dark background friendly, I still need to have CyhperSTL make them transparent, as soon as he does I will link ya to those as well...

thanks i removed all the extras and looks better the way it looks now..thanks

sho3a3 08-10-2008 07:48 PM

thanks is very good

Pocket Aces 08-11-2008 02:13 AM

I don't know if its just me but the Order awards in Profile option doesn't seem to work. I recently upgraded from v2 to this one, v4. If you have some free time, could you please check it out Xanlamin or CypherSTL. Thanks. :)

Soliloquy 08-11-2008 02:33 AM

How do I get the awards to show in the left side of the postbit after the rank image?

AWJunkies 08-11-2008 03:07 AM

So glad someone did this and I may provide my cron automation hack for this for public release. As I already coded a completely new awards system with my software there is no need for this hack anymore or the cron. So I will look over this code and send somebody the cron.

wpillar 08-11-2008 08:09 AM

Ive uploaded everything, I can access the settings in "vBulletin options" but the Award Manager ACP section isn't there, and there is noting in postbit or profiles.

Help?

Thanks

(i've clicked installed)

When I was testing the postbit displays of the hack, I completely forgot to check how it looked within the H-Postbit. I'll play around with this on my test board and see if I cant add some more placement options for you guys.

What exactly does the cron do?

Did you completely remove the old version of YAAS including the manual template edits that you had to make before?

--
As for some of the coding. I haven't done much coding with interfacing with vBulletin directly, it's mainly been with getting external pages retrieving information from the vBulletin database which is why the awards_profile.php using pretty much straight PHP code. If you have rewritten the awards_profile.php it to make it "vB Friendly", I can repackage it into the hack and make sure that you get credit for it. Atleast then the hack wouldn't have to pull the table prefix from your config file.

I know its not the cleanest code, but have to start learning to code with VB inmind somewhere. All this has been a learning experiance as far as the profile tabs and what not goes.

I appriciate everyones feedback, both positive and negative. The input recieved only makes us want to make this hack even better for everyone.

Killy01 08-11-2008 09:19 AM

I've never had other versions of YaAS before and it all seems to be running fine apart from the fact that the 'Awards Showcase' and the 'Total Awards' button link to the user profile but they don't show any of the awards I have given. My user account has two awards and none of them show in the profile. There is also no link in the profile to somewhere where they can be viewed. Another user account only has the one award but this doesn't show in the profile area either. Everything is working fine in the rest of the mod though. i.e awards displaying in postbit.
You can see here:

Cheers

Killy

CypherSTL 08-11-2008 09:34 AM

I have redid the XML File according to the suggestions from liwo to where the awards_profile.php page is no longer needed. This should fix some the issues that people are receiving.

I will add a few more placement options as much as I can. I will also include instructions for those wanting to make their own insert locations in the postbits.

When I get these other fixes done, we'll repackage and reupload the hack for everyone to download.

Like the mod and updated!

I've added "My Awards" to the phrases. If you find anymore that you would like to be phrased, feel free to send me a PM.

CypherSTL 08-11-2008 09:48 AM

Uploaded the updated version of the hack.

To those that already have YAAS v4 installed, simply overwrite/upgrade the existing hack. You may also safely remove awards_profile.php.

Highlandersepp, let me know if this update fixes your issue.

Highlandersepp 08-11-2008 09:56 AM

youre great :D:D it works :) ty

chance the php?s too ?

Gosef 08-11-2008 10:11 AM

Works GREAT thanks

Pocket Aces 08-11-2008 10:11 AM

Thanks for the update. Superb support! Hopefully this new version would fix the non-working options in Award System Settings. :)

...downloading now.

Killy01 08-11-2008 10:17 AM

this version fixed my problem, thanks

Pocket Aces 08-11-2008 10:27 AM

Installed. Unfortunately the issues in award system settings are not yet fixed.

Awards List: Display Icon - if set to no, the tables are messed up since the table header is still there
Awards List: Display Image - if set to no, the tables are messed up since the table header is still there
Order awards in Profile - Order by issued time (newest first) is not working

That's it for now. Other options are yet to be tested.

Highlandersepp 08-11-2008 10:32 AM

next problem:
when i give a id in request forum or request thread and then give a new award, there is no new post..............

OcR Envy 08-11-2008 11:11 AM

Nice, been waiting for this one.

I have a custom memberinfo template(facebook) installed. I'll copy the template myself I just need to know what award template I should be working with?

hi, and thanks for grabbing my atention with this great mod.....

I would love to be able to add this to my wifes poetry site, so i am able to give awards out to its members, sadly im so new at all this im terrified, especially if its not just a download one of them XLfile thingies into the add-ons bit... As ive not dared to download one mod which involves writing stuff somewhere where i cant find or might destroy what we already have...

Do you have any advice for the simple minded like myself, so we could use this...?

many thanks

Admin Control Panel > Plugins & products > Manage Products > Add/Import Product

click it and then u will see

==========================

EITHER upload the XML file from your computer : Upload ya Xml

OR import the XML file from your server :

Allow Overwrite
If you wish to upgrade a product, you must set this to yes.

==========================

The rest just leave it like that . Unless u wanna replace the original YaAS 4.0 u already installed then tick " YES " for overwrite section .

The files that are in the upload dir:

There are files within directory's, take those files and upload them to the corresponding directory on your web server.

The files that are just inside the upload directory but are not in another directory, just upload these to the forum root: /forums/ directory or whatever you have your forums directory called.

I hope this helps.

Xanlamin 08-11-2008 11:30 PM

For those who wanted to know what the normal postbit verses the legecy postbit would look like here is a screen shot of the normal postbit.

Currently the Awards Showcase displays in a Frameset/Legend. It should use the same colors that you have set in your style.

For the linking to the Awards in the member profiles. I know you can get some tabs to automatically display when you link to them. But I cannot figure out how to do it with custom tabs. I will so some research on this tonight and get back with everyone on an update.

well basically i removed everything in "award_postbit_display" and left this
Quote:

<!-- show awards -->
<br />
<if condition="$post[showuserawards]">
$post[userawards]
</if>
<!-- /show awards -->
it works fine if i wanted to see the member profile i just clicked on the image and it'll redirect me to there profile.I haven't had any problems so i left it as that...:cool:

Highlandersepp 08-12-2008 12:55 PM

a wish for next version:

in acp a table, there i can see all awards-pics (like the smilies)
i send the pics to root, give the link into the table and my subadmins can look, which awards they can use.

i hope, you understand this :D

Turbo&Auto 08-12-2008 03:19 PM

If I goto /forums/awards.php I can see all of the awards and who received them. How can I make this a link for all members to view? Is this an option and Im just missing it?

TIA, excellent mod so far! We're having fun with it LOL

edit: nm. Figured out how to do it.

I added this line after the line for FAQ in the Navbar template:
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="awards.php?$session[sessionurl_q]">Awards</a></td>

Diesel, 08-12-2008 05:21 PM

Goto your admincp, Award Manager, on the award you want to remove from someone goto Give Award To User, once there you will see a list at the bottom of who all have the award along with a check box that says remove. tic the check box then click remove.

wwolf27 08-12-2008 09:36 PM

I can't believe I am about to do this BUT I AM....

I just upgraded to this version this morning and I had to upload all of our awards that we made blah blah blah...got everything working GREAT....except when anyone including admins go to request it says we don't have permission (it's my site..I have permission..lol) anyway and it won't show in the nav bar..I have 2 nav bar's. I am so sorry to ask simple questions and I know better but I have been up all night doing this and I have members chomping at the bit for these.
Thank you in advance for any help, and please except my apologies.
~Sherry

sadly i dont seem to have got it right, no shock there then... lol

I have done the add to plugins bit and its there, but nothing is showing up in my admincp to give awards?

Im sure im meant to upload another file into a different place within the clever stuff i shouldnt really touch, any ideas...... anyone got a min to rescue the useless...lol

Thanks again for all those who have helped so far and all those that will continue to help me...

thanks

SVTCobraLTD 08-13-2008 12:05 PM

Thanks for the new release, uninstalling 2.1.4 and installing 4.0.

SVTCobraLTD 08-13-2008 12:45 PM

Few issues I noticed: (note this is on 3.6.10)

1. Email being sent says the award is from User 1 - It does not display user 1's name.

2. When I click on an award in the postbit, it takes me to the users profile, yet it is not showing up in the users profile.

3. When you go to Product Manager in AdminCP and click on the Yet Another Awards system product, it takes you to the 2.1.4 thread instead of this one.

Just thought I would point these out. Maybe with #2 I am over looking something but thought I would throw it out there.

wwolf27 08-13-2008 07:25 PM

I to agree with SVTCobraLTD...and I noticed that I have my images on my awards list for all to see and in the Award Manger BUT when you issue the award and they get it there is no image....just

Subah 08-13-2008 07:41 PM
