I noticed this too. It simply posts the reply, but it doesn't reload the page or take you to your new reply at all. Once this is fixed, should be a good working mod then :)

What is the difference between the latest release and the previous version? I can't see a changelog unless I missed it somewhere in the thread...

R]Hello,

It doesn't work with juice style ( vBstyles.com) :(

great jod :)

That's because of it's many features like attachments & the all-in-one built-in bbcodes, you can disable what you want & get it up more speedy :).

If you need attachments or thread management tools in quick reply you should do the .js file edit (on the uncompressed file version), if you don't so you should disable these features from AdminCP.
If you did the .js file edit wrong or on the flat version it might show up some errors.

There is a way of course, it's not as simple as you expect but it's the way vBulletin default javascript files were compressed. Here it is YUI Compressor.

Check out for any other products installed on your board for the quick reply (like smiliebox / smiliemenu / smilie button in quick reply).
If so, uninstall it then re-install our product, it should work fine with you.

I'll try your fix..

You should do that edit on the uncompressed (flat) version of that file, you can download the uncompressed (flat) version from vBulletin members area as follow: from the download page in the vBulletin members area choose "More Download Options" then go to the last option (Download File: ) & choose "Package - Uncompressed JavaScript", that's all.

just one thing i found two typos in the english version of the "info.txt" heres the fixed ver

two requests, one that its possible to set the box size in pixils and two that i can get rid of this (attached)

What's these two typos?
The first request is already a feature in the 1.5.0 version (see features & change log up in the thread).
The second request will try to do add it as a new feature in the next release.

This product is fully compatible with 3.7.x series including 3.7.2, you don't apply the .js file edit in the right manner, re-do the file edit as stated above in the thread & you will get it right working fine.

Don't be negative, at least you have to leave you positive feedback!!
Which bugs you mean!? there is no bugs at all in this product, you have to follow instructions shown up in the thread & you will get it working fine, otherwise if you relly discovered any bug you have to report it here to look for it & fix, not to say "uninstalled because of many bugs..."!!!!!!!.

It's not a bug! If you need the attachments and/or the thread management tools in quick reply, then you have to follow the .js file edit as stated up in the thread:

I did the edit on the uncompressed js file. THAT was the cause of the issue for the msg not being shown right away to the end of the thread; unless you manually reloaded the page. When I uninstalled this, the issue still occurred... but once I replaced the js file with the original one, it worked again. Just thought I'd mention the js edit was the culprit for this slight issue ;).

Upgrade to the new version, JS code has been optimized & should work fine in any circumstances.

May be, but some people -Like Us & many others- like it to be full reply not quick one, but without reloading or going to the advanced reply page :).

Hund 07-05-2008 02:44 PM

Is it possible to integrate the favorite smilies mod with this mod?

PoetJA-1975 07-09-2008 10:55 AM

Wow! Wonderful product!
Thanx for sharing ;)
Voted in MOTM!
Quick question - can we randomize the smilie order.
I've tried editing the includes/functions_editor.php file to include ORDER by rand() - doesn't seem to work for your product though.
Thanx,

Jacquii.

Yes, it's possible.
You can do the same installation steps of the "Favorite Smilies" on our product's code (Hook: editor_toolbar_end), we have done it for you & every one need it. Attached!

You are welcome.
It's ordered by:
Code:

ORDER BY imagecategory.displayorder, imagecategory.title, smilie.displayorder
By default, but you can edit the product's code (Hook: editor_toolbar_end) to do what you need, search for the following code:
PHP Code:

ORDER BY imagecategory.displayorderimagecategory.titlesmilie.displayorder

& Replace it with the following code:
PHP Code:

ORDER BY RAND()

* Not tested, but should work for our product *

Good ideas PHPKD.
- I have for years thought the quickreply need some options. :D

Ideas:
- Lets make the quick reply smaller by placing the options in a toggle_collapse <thead> (default closed until clicked)

Icy 07-11-2008 05:12 PM

Uncached templates: phpkd_aqr_tools (1) Note that I have neither edited the JS file nor using those function that require the file edit.

Thank you very much. I did install this Mod on 3.7.2 PL1.
I works pretty fine.

I suggest that you explain further how to compress the java file.
Some users might find some difficulty there.

BTW, Windows users can compress the file from the DOS blcak sceen.
I just copied the yahoo compressor and the vb .js file both to my root C:\
then ran the command as shown in yahoo compressor page.

Many thanks again for this perfect mod.

Interesting point .

I believe not though.
The purpose of quick reply has been defeated by the improvement in PC and communication technologies. i.e. It became easier for developers to utilize "heavy" codes to improve their user's experience. FLASH is a good example of a technology which was struggling just few years ago and became very common nowadays because of that reason.

This release supercedes the 1.0.x, 1.5.x branches as our primary product's release.

There are many new features and improvements to existing functionality in "Advanced Quick Reply" [2.0.0] over "Advanced Quick Reply" [1.0.x, 1.5.x], most of which have already been described in the "History" block in the main product's URL, but here is a brief list of just a few of the highlights.

      • Re-writing ~ the whole product's code.
      • Optimizing/fixing minnor bugs in the whole product's code.

      • Adding "Collapse Advanced Quick Reply by default" feature.

We recommend that all users upgrade to "Advanced Quick Reply" [2.0.0].
Best Regards

Keep Moving Forward!

vBulletin always doesn't put the full editor in the middle (check the advanced reply to see it) and since this product use the same method that vBulletin use, then it will appear as the default editor. Any way you can set the width to be 100% (from product's settings) to get advantage of the whole space & display the editor in the middle.

Smilies under the edit box is not working.

Edit: Actually nothing in that whole row of checkboxs works. ( Smiliebox Below Editor Display Cut/Copy/Paste Buttons Display Undo/Redo Buttons Display Extra Buttons)

WildSoftCat 07-26-2008 11:20 PM

Thanks :)

When using different kinds of smilies (different sizes) it's impossible to calculate common number of smilies per row ( any user can have own set of smilies - Favorite smilie). I implemented additional user profile field (smilies per row) and add it inside code. Maybe You can also add it to product.

The product works as the default vBulletin Full Editor, so you should expect the same behavior :).

vBulletin AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Advanced Quick Reply Settings -> Exclude Users
** Available in version 2.0.0 & above. **

You can do this, but be noted that the default vBulletin quick reply itself doesn't appear to unreqistered users, so you have to edit some showthread.php codes & some of that product's code also.

You are right, sorry.
Don't understand your problem at first.

Any way we have reverted the modified "phpkd_aqr_showthread_quickreply" template & it's now working very fine as you need :), see the attached images.

The message box's height edited also to fit your needs.

Please if you need any other questions and/or problems don't hesitate to tell.

Regards
