Please forgive me if this has been answered somewhere. But after importing both .xml files and making the changes to the two html files, all I get is this. When I click on the link "Edit Extra Options", I don't see any thing on the right side.

This is not the tab mod. Please read the instructions at the top in full on both threads and they will explain what you are looking for.

I'm going to be a pain here, but can I pester you for more info on including images because it's driving me mad :confused:

All this mod does is move the edit area of certain marked profile fields to a new page. It has nothing to do with displaying images. I would suggest that you start a new thread asking how to use a profile field (containing a URL) to display an image, where ever you'd like the image to be displayed.

Just one question. Is there a template I can edit to clean up the layout ie; when somebody is viewing the extra profile fields page of another member, can I alter the layout ?

No one can see someone else's EPFP, as it is an EDIT only page.

Dear Wired1, I thank you for this great mod from the bottom of my heart, but it still needs some modifications for which I'm willing to pay (even though I'd still like them to be packed in this mod).

You can see what your page on my site looks like here (use test/test to log in). In short, it is one big mess (and this is only the start:)) that can be organized in no time with your talented hands.

Required changes:

1. Field display order by "category order" / "field order"

2. Allow wrapping of field title, so it will be consistent with templates for outer and inner widths.

3. Allow to place a border around all fields that belong to the same category.

4. Allow category title to be output as that region's title.

5. Allow category description output below the category title.

6. Allow disabling border around each field.

7. Allow field description to be output below field title.

8. Mark category title as a bookmark so we can refer members to the specific region on the page via the URL.

9. This is a nice-to-have feature: place a "save" button beneath each category region.

10. Another nice to have: allow us to define a path to an include or cron file that is executed after data has been commited to the database, with a parameter of userid or username.

Please let me know a.s.a.p. how do you feel about making these modifications.

What does this have to do with profile fields?

It has nothing to do with the profile fields. That's why I put it in the nice-2-have category:)

I was just hopping that if you could packaged it into the product, I won't have to make ANY customizations to it every time there's a new version upgrade, and just rely solely on your MOD.

Updated to VB 3.7.2, now I have lost all my extra fields.

They are showing on the site, but from admincp/User Profile Fields/User Profile Fields Manager I can only see category 1 which is everything in the normal profile area.
Cat 2 is my garage (which is what I'm using extra fields for) and nothing is showing.

It's the only place affected. The table in db are there, it's there on the site with all correct details, just admin cp missing.


Any ideas ?

Did you re-do the template edit?

Was just coming back to post I'd sussed that out.

Also had to redo the USERCP_SHELL edit.

I'm having a strange problem.

I go to:

ACP --> User Profile Fields --> User Profile Field Manager

...but the user profile fields for my system specs aren't there. I added one not so long ago, so I have no idea why they aren't showing. Even better, they still show on the extra_options page and everything is working fine. Any ideas?

You're missing one of the manual edits I believe. Or a plugin is disabled.

Nope, everything is working fine. Also, a plugin or manual edit wouldn't stop it from showing in the default vBulletin User Profile Field Manager..

If the extra edits for the profile field aren't there, it's outside of the normal scope of what vB's looking for, so it wouldn't show up. However, the page would work just fine.

Huh? Well, you create a new user profile field, and set it to display on the extra_options page. What I am saying, is that the user profile fields are now not showing in my ACP, so I cannot edit them...

Follow the instructions and do the manual edit again. I'm guessing you've upgraded your forum recently.

Ah, I forgot to re-do the /admincp/profilefield.php edit hehe.

Hi Wired1, How can I Change the layout of the page.

I have 2 categories and right now, all fields show up together. It would be great to divide them up with maybe the title of the Categories, perhaps in different tables or divs on the page.

Is this doable?

If you have a number of fields, you probably wouldn't want it to show up on the same profile page....no?

Got it all working no problems....
But when I selected an existing field I wanted to make into 'extra options', although it shows in a new tab (using the other mod listed) and the extra options mod works, it has disappeared from 'user profile fields?)..complete with its ID number!

So I added a new one and tried again, that is also not visible in there (to edit) but is visiblt in my forum user control panels?

Any ideas on where I can find them?! :)

Ive got the mod working but the 'extra option' profile fields are not showing up in the Admin CP once I have created them.
So, if I create a field called 'test' and put it in the Extra Options group, it shows up fine in the users control panel and in the drop down from the username (different mod I know) but when I got to 'User Profile Fields' in the admin CP it does not show in there?

So ID number 5 is currently missing from there, and also 6 and 7?

Please tell me how I can find them or get them back because I want to delete 2 of them that were only for testing

How hard would it be to make the contents of the Extra Profile Fields Tab, clickable? I have other uses for the addon. I did download & install the Dropdown in Postbit, it works great, but it wont work for me unless the drop down contents are clickable. Leaving the Extra Profile Fields Tab in place is working great for me, but wish they were clickable to send members and guest to external pages. I have tried a few ideas to get it to function they way I wish it to, but I cant seem to get it right. I will keep trying. Thanks

Have the multiple tabs been implemented yet? I took the easy way out and just duplicated the code to get multiple tabs, but I would rather have everything done the "correct way" if at all possible. What's the downside of doing it the easy way?

I'm also curious when the multiple tab option will be available.

no where does your readme mention a new template. Am I missing something.

Also how can I set it up to its own panel. (etc. Your Profile, Networking, Settings and Options, Private Messages...) Its own section in the User CP

multiple tabs in the ADVANCED format: nowhere enough responses for me to re-code the whole setup for it, but either way, the tabs are a different mod.

The template is built into the product, and as such, there is no need to mention it in the instructions.
