Just a suggestion here.

When you delete a smilie you get prompted if you are sure you want to delete it. which is fine. but I would look better if it did not have the category image behind the "Replacement text" box and the "Smilie" box.

Eg:

Do you see what I mean? would look better without it.

This has already been fixed.

It will be in the next version which I have just started working on today.

Just about fixed at the moment are:
  • mysmilies_delete template
  • Signature custom smilie support

transparent 07-10-2008 02:22 AM

I'm looking forward to the new features update. Will the ability to use custom smilies in profile comments be added in this one?

Thank you for your time & effort.:)

Yes, the to-do list in the first post indicates that it is on the way. The to-do list will be done in the order displayed.

principino1984 07-16-2008 12:24 PM

do we have to upload all the files for the upgrade or we have just to overwrite the plugin?
thanks
Marco

what did i wrong?

Just noticed this post while looking through the thread, I had answered earlier, but just had a rethink about the problem.

You need to use the full url including the http://, and that should fix the issue.

If you do not, then you did not upload all the files to their correct directories, just like indicated in Step 1 of the readme.txt.

You need to upload bitfield_mysmiliesvb.xml to your FORUM_ROOT/includes/xml directory (FORUM_ROOT being self-explanatory).

lolo? 07-18-2008 04:46 AM

i have reupload three time and work now thanks

Yes, CSRF (cross-site request forgery) Protection (introduced in vBulletin v3.6.10 and v3.7.0 RC 4), which means that your installation would have to be at least RC 4, as that is when security token were introduced.

I do not support installations on v3.7 Beta or RC, and this hack was never tested on either the beta or RC versions of v3.7. So, the minimum supported version for this hack is v3.7.0 Gold.

RobbieZ 08-04-2008 02:28 PM

Hello Mosh..

Can you tell me which folder do i send to chmod?

You need to chmod the mysmiliesvb folder to 777.

Mosh - I am also in Melbourne and have sent you a PM to see if we can fix that attachment problem that Stone has when using this mod - I also had the same problem and had to uninstall it

I am having the same problem as he was. I am getting an Invalid URL for any URL tried. I am also using the full http:// paths. Any ideas? I am running 3.7.1

Hi Mosh,

Thanks for looking into it so quickly.

Yes, I created a fresh unmodified style and it still happens. What I do is upload an attachment, then insert the attachment "inline" by clicking the attachment icon and then the name of the attached image to insert it "inline" in my post. At that point it looks fine, but after a refresh it shows "inline" and then again at the end of the post as an attachment. It's happening to all users in all browsers. Please see attached screenshot.

I found that when posting in-line attachments, the plug in is causing both thumbnails to show, both in-line and in the attachment container below the post.

I managed to re-create this bug - and I think I have managed to create a fix for this. I am still in the process of testing the fix out.

I will post it probably tomorrow, once I am happy with the testing of the fix.

Screenshots of before with the error (I think) and after the fix is applied, are attached below:

Mosh 08-06-2008 01:14 PM

Update: v3.7.004
-- Fixed: Attachments were showing when the attachment was shown inline in the same post
-- Added: AdminCP Option to turn this fix On or Off

NOTE: You do not need to upgrade to this version unless you are experiencing issues with attachments were showing as an attachment, when the attachment was shown inline in the same post, in which case, this should fix the issue. This problem exists for a very limited amount of vBulletin installations, and I have only been able to replicate the issue on one installation, all other installations I tested do not seem to be affected and images displayed inline are not shown in attachments, while the attachments in the same post that have not been shown inline show fine in the attachments/thumbnail section.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: A limitation exists with the fix that rectifies the problem of attachments showing when also posting them inline within the same post; when applied, all attachments will need to be displayed inline, if they have not been, then the ones that have not been posted inline will be hidden along with the ones that have been posted inline. Which is why this fix can be turned On or Off, it will mess up installations that do not have the problem to start with, so this fix is switched Off as default, and will need to be turn On if needed.

how to manually uninstall from phpmyadmin

GrendelKhan{TSU 08-19-2008 05:20 AM

omg... this sounds awesome!!!!!!

bookmarked for this weekend (when I can actually try it). looking forward to it!

iBaker 08-19-2008 05:32 AM

Unfortunately I also have to uninstall. I tried it on my test site and a user can't put an attachment in line without it also appearing as an attachment in the attachment box and the solution of of having all attachments in line only is not a good option.

However I think if this mod can be fixed and made reliable then I personally feel it would be simply brilliant and something that would greatly enhance my forum user's experience

You don't un-install from phpmyadmin, you just un-install the product from the AdminCP, delete the files and directory you uploaded when you installed this.

If you are having problems because you accidentally deleted a table before uninstalling it, then install the product again, then un-install it, and that should fix it. As how to do it from phpmyadmin, I have not got a clue, as I do not use it.

I may well be able to fix it at some point, but I did not write this hack originally and it was only meant to be an interim solution until the original author released his official version.

He saw that I had done it, and asked me to continue it, so it is slow going as I am still learning about this hack as I go along.

Also because I did not originally write this, the hacks that I have written myself always take priority over this one, so this hack tends to get worked on whenever I feel the urge to look at it, so development on this will probably always be pretty slow.

People are free to install or un-install this whenever they want.

If people want this developed faster they can always take over the hack as I have marked this as re-usable code, I don't mind either way.

IvyKeepMommy 08-19-2008 11:02 PM

*installed*

My only request would be that the smilies be disabled by default so that it is easier to manage (in our case we have a number of user groups and only paid subscription members get to use their own smilies, so it was quite a bit of work to have to go and edit ALL the other user groups.)

It would have been much simpler if the default setting was to have it turned off and I could enable it for who I wanted, instead of having to disable it for everyone else

sflmkv 09-27-2008 04:35 PM

*installed* but I'm having users complaining that they can't upload the files from url. I have personally double checked and even using the full paths I still get "Invalid Url". Any thoughts?

I have absolutely no idea, I can not replicate the problem, I have never had a problem with vBulletin (v3.5, v3.6 or v3.7).

Can you give me some example of problem urls that you are using please, I will then use them to see if I can replicate the problem.

If I can not replicate the problem, I may well need to look at your installation.

sflmkv 09-29-2008 06:05 AM

i've tried installing again and still doesn't work, I'm on 3.7. Any url I try doesn't work, however uploading seems to be fine.
