i will just have to create a file .htpasswd and inclue the htacess pw and use blank .htacess for this site seo url ?

i shall try that. will update u on this.

superjeff 04-07-2008 05:14 PM

UPDATED: Other bug fixed.
If someone have some suggest to extend the functions of the rewrite (no member and blog), please suggest.

NeverBored 04-09-2008 03:05 AM

Very nice mod! I like this a lot, one problem I see though is you can no longer see what thread users are looking at on the who's online listing. Any way to get who's online to work with this?

superjeff 04-09-2008 10:08 AM

I will fix it in the next relase. Sorry but i have to study much in the next days.

superthang 04-15-2008 09:57 AM

What did you like to have with the next version?

Or you are talking only about the "online locazitation bug"?

NeverBored 04-18-2008 07:08 PM

Something I just remembered... When I had this installed, I found it caused 404 not found errors for the vb cron function. Since the cron url was based on the rewrite URL.

superjeff 04-19-2008 10:25 AM

Which cron functions exactly? (URL)

NeverBored 04-19-2008 06:29 PM

In the footer template $cronimage is called. In my error log there was 404s for something like, domain.com/thread-title-t99/cron.php

Damm!
I will fix it in the next relase.

Magnumutz 04-20-2008 09:49 AM

jeff, why can't you rewrite members profile links?

superjeff 04-20-2008 02:51 PM

In a few of words, you many visit did you yope to take from it? Is the members pages of vbulletin interesting for Google? I don't think.

Magnumutz 04-20-2008 05:11 PM

Indeed, you are right about this, Google does still index them, but nobody searches for the members.

However, it would be a nice feature that everyone will like and get extra attention and installs for sure.

superjeff 04-20-2008 06:37 PM

Yes, but, IMHO it is like to see google that the member page is important for you, like a thread.

Lapsetur 04-21-2008 09:46 AM

Does this work with IIS

superjeff 04-21-2008 11:14 AM

Actually, no. I hope to introduce this in the next future.

Lapsetur 04-21-2008 01:08 PM

Well looking forward

elmati 04-21-2008 02:11 PM

i found too intensive for my server rewrite the urls with other hacks, and sometimes my server crash...
how many querys and How intensive is for the server?

superjeff 04-21-2008 05:19 PM

It is thinked to don't weight on the server. Basically, it don't add query. But, ther is a query if you rewite tags.php (with the file modification), and another in homepage if you choose it in the options.
I'd like very much to know how it work in a big forum, contact me via email if you have installation problems.

superjeff 04-21-2008 05:26 PM

PS: you vb skin if fantastic. Can you pm me how much did you pay it?

nerofix 04-21-2008 06:53 PM

Then it would be perfect! :)

You always say you will do this when your mod becomes popular .. so .. eh .. come stai? .. lol .. eh .. making your mod doing rewrite the forumname could make your mod more popular, because it's missing in your actual version .. :)

Please add a rewrite for forumname, /f2/ is not beautiful.

bxbigt 04-22-2008 07:34 AM

im getting a infinte redirect..any idea's ? ")

"Base url of tour site." sure that you have filled this field?

bxbigt 04-22-2008 06:37 PM

nothing everything is filled in also inclu the htaccess and all

superjeff 04-22-2008 07:00 PM

Strange.. sure that the "base url" filed is?

Plus, try to temporanely disable the 301 redirect.

bxbigt 04-22-2008 07:11 PM

works but this appears above the header

superjeff 04-22-2008 07:14 PM

It's because in some forums you don't have any thread, and it try to generate the urls too. I hope to fix this too in the next relase.

bxbigt 04-22-2008 09:02 PM

so once i finish laying out the site im gonna post in each forum and it should work , yeah im coming off a nasty site crash and buggy d/b so i decided to just start fresh and i been following your seo for weeks and thought i give it a try :)

msorin 04-23-2008 06:25 PM

I installed it and configured everything according to your instruction but when I enable it in admincp and try to go to forum or a thread link my browser gives me an error message that "the page can not be redirected". Is there anything I need to check for?

superjeff 04-24-2008 10:53 AM

Sure that you have configure correctly the "base url" setting? If yes ther'is a common problem fo fix..

superjeff 04-24-2008 02:26 PM

UPDATED: Add the online localization support, ad fix the errors with forums without posts in forumhome.

elmati 04-24-2008 02:53 PM
