Are you using the Unread Posts and Reputation hack?
|

|
Everything works great, except the automatic greeting doesn't work, still says "Welcome" on 3.7b6, the other two worked fine top menu and the remember me. I activated it in the options per your instructions, any ideas? Thanks, rg sends!

You are running Paul M's Unread Posts and Reputation mod, aren't you? ;)

Bob for some reason, I'm having an issue with the update. I'm getting only Good afternoon (I upgraded to the new one this afternoon), and good evening. No "what's for dinner?", nothing else.
Any suggestions? |

I think I found out why some of you say this isn't working. It seems that there are a couple of hacks that change the line to use the musername instead of the username. The automatic template edit won't work for that as that is not the original line in vb. If the line in the navbar template does not look like this originally:

It must have been just a glitch. I had Good Afternoon Peggy up there for approx 7 hours, but it's working fine now. Thanks babe! |
Maybe the server time was acting up on you. That can happen once in a while.
|
Brother you crank out some great mods! Thanks again!
|
Fun and simple hack..Thanks!!
that said, how do I change the look and what links appear in the extra NAVBAR? - one of the reasons I wanted this hack is I need a simple way to add an extra bar without figuring it out myself (lazy bastid I am). :p - but when I add the extra bar... it goes shooting off the edge of the page. :( - plus I want to add a drop down menu with fun extras on my board. :D any tips would be appreciated. I'm a code n00bsquared. :/ Quote:
woot!! thanks! that did it. |
WoW! Installed the MOD even without knowing how much extra is there (2nd navbar).
Thanks for a great MOD. |
Boofo,
Any way to alter what links we see on that top navbar through the admincp? I'd really like to just have My Threads, My Posts, Today's Posts, and Mark Forums Read under the search menu. |
You can edit the template for the links in the hack, if that is what you mean.
|
I've got it figured out. Thanks a bunch anyways.
|
**Installed...thanks to both of you, Boofo & Pam. :)
|
Um - is this available for the 3.6.x series please?
Thanx, JAcquii. |
It should work fine wth 3.6.x. ;)

Is there any reason why a url that is not within my forum will not work if on a drop down menu?
For example, I made a drop down menu for admins and placed a link for vb.org there. When I click on it it will not work. I doubt this is this hack's fault. I just hope someone can shed some light. |
Without see what you added, it is hard to say.

Look at the admin menu on the top nav. Scroll down to the bottom, you'll see the various links that do not work. Obviously admincp will, it's the others I'm worried about. This is the code I used for that menu: Code:
<div class="vbmenu_popup" id="adminaccess_menu" style="display:none"> |
I see no admin menu as a guest. Bit I would take the phpmyadmin link and the others out like that when posting the code here or you are asking for problems.
|
good point. I've edited it. Do you see anything wrong with the code?
|
Not so far.
|
I'll pm you admin access so you can see what I'm talking about.
|
Nice sharing
Thankss |
I just installed this mod on 3.7.0 gold and nothing changed. Just the standard Welcome and name. Any thoughts?
|
There are two images in the zip file you provided. Where do those get uploaded too? I saw nothing about them in the instructions.

D'Oh! No, I did not.

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. Uninstalled.
|
Well, without knowing what didn't work, no one can help you, huh?

Hey, I checked out the post to see the fix for the greeting not showing but can't work out how to do it. My code looks different from what its supposed to:
<strong><phrase 1="$bbuserinfo[username]">$vbphrase[welcome_x]</phrase></strong><br /> <phrase 1="$pmbox[lastvisitdate]" 2="$pmbox[lastvisittime]">$vbphrase[last_visited_x_at_y]</phrase> <if condition="$show['notifications']"> <span id="notifications"><a href="usercp.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[your_notifications]:</a> <strong>$notifications_total</strong></span></if> Could you tell me what to change it to? Thanks v. much. |
Have you checked the default template to see how yours is different? Are you running 3.6 by chance?
