That will never happen as I do my template addon in a totally different way than the standard way for the Thread Strarted By User as my template is different. ;)

You'll need to edit both FORUMHOME and WHOSONLINE templates, overwrite the spider XML (don't need to but more spiders were added) in the includes/xml directory then upload the product XML, overwriting the old. :)

ok i've installed this hack but it never seems to show how many spiders are browsing
ie:
Currently Active Users: 37 (28 members, 3 guests and 0 spiders)

yet if i click on currently active users and then on the ip of the guest it is infact a googlebot (crawl-66-249-65-65.googlebot.com)

oh i am using vB version 3.6.8 PL2
but i'm sure i read it would still work

You need to do the wol_spiders edit to the config.php file. ;)

Thanking you! lol cheers mate great work, can i ask tho how do i stop the spiders on the who's online showing the same color as the admin, say when only i'm logged on with a spider it shows Google, Google AdSense in red because my user group is red, but then when a user logs on say for example registerd users wich is a blue color the Google, Google AdSense shows up blue i dunno if you 100% understand what i'm saying but if you check out my site you will see what i mean may need to visit it a few times if there is no spiders/users on at the time you visit it, http://www.digitalised-data.com, also thank you as well if you do look into this for me.

This hack doesn't touch the listing in the Who's Online, just the amount of spiders in there. Sounds like you might not have a closing tag on one of the usergroup color markups somewhere.

This line will need to be put back in there. Just do a "Show Defualt" and it will show you what the line should look like.

NOTE: The IP is not what vb uses to identify Spiders. It is the User Agent that it uses. Are they showing up as Guests or Spiders in the Who's Online?

so it could be that it's working but not detecting them as spiders?

If they show as Guests in the Who's Online, then it is working as it should. This hack only does the count in the Who's Online and does the spiders and count on the forumhome.

Have you updated the spiders_vbulletin.xml lately?

The way mine is doing it is on ForumHome it shows 7 guests 0 spiders but after clicking on Currently Active Users it changes to 0 guests 7 spiders. Is that what it is supposed to do. If so is there a way to just take it off Forumhome, the Spider 0 part and leave in the CAU part?

If it is doing that you have something interfering with it on the forumhome and we need to find out what it is. Is it showing the spider names in the Who's Online when it says 7? And have you updated to the spiders_vbulletin.xml from the com?

Yeah it is showing them in the Who's Online. I just uploaded the spiders_vbulletin.xml as it was as I think I saw somewhere in here that it was up to date. Could it be that it does not jive well with 3.6.8? I haven't had any spiders yet on my board that uses 3.7 so I am unable to give a comparison.

This is basically the same hack I ran on 3.5.4 so that shouldn't be the problem. If you can link me to your site I can check it out and see if I spot anything. There has to be a reason for what is happening as I haven't had any other problem like this where the spiders show in the Who's Online on and not on the forumhome. If they show one place, they should show in the other also.

You have something else messing with this hack. Try uploading a fresh index.php file and see if that fixes it.

I'm not sure if this addon has been updated lately but I just installed it and made all the necessary install needs. When I'm logged in and there is a spider on, I'm seeing the following:

In WOL:

1 members, 0 Guests, 1 Spiders

In FORUMHOME:

1 members, 1 Guests, 0 Spiders
