SVTCobraLTD 03-26-2008 12:57 AM

Tested this on 3.6.8 and it didnt work for some reason. On my end while testing it, it seem to be working but never got the reported PM even though I have my user number entered and also the forum for admins. But do I need to have the "Report to all moderators" button on yes? I do not want it to go to all moderators, just me.

Also, anyone have any idea before I start messing around with this, how I could make a button appear next to "Forward"? I would rather have a "Report PM" button there. The https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/08/15.gif just isn't as noticeable. Thanks in advance.

You would have to add a button and do a conditional in the template for the button. I kept it in line with the Report Post icon for posts.

I want to get this next to the Forward and Reply buttons. Anyone have any ideas of what class it would need to be in? Or even what templete has the links for Forward and Reply?

The reason it was done the way it was as to coincide with the report bad post icon. The postbit and/or postbit_legacy is where you want to look.

Jase2 04-13-2008 08:11 AM

Hello Boofo,

Does this work on vB 3.6.8?

Reports in forums needs to be moderated?

Boofo 05-02-2008 02:00 PM

It should be set to a Staff forum. Is that what you are asking?

ecihanuysal 05-02-2008 03:40 PM

tnx a lot for the mod.. ;)

shlomot 05-07-2008 11:50 AM

Read all former posts about legacy and postbit. The bottom line question stays the same: where is the button?

Please help to straight out this otherwise great MOD.

Also, now I'm getting the following database error:

Code:

It will be next to the IP icon. Looks like that table doesn't exist. You will need to uninstall and re-install the product xml so it can make that table.

shlomot 05-08-2008 05:10 AM

Did that and it works just great.

Thanks for this important MOD. Rate/Install/Nominate.

Thanks Boofo. We've recently been getting Buddhist spammers that join and send out mass amounts of PMs to everyone but staff... so it becomes kinda hard to "prove" that they're doing it, as I refuse to add a hack that allows us to read user PMs.

This'll work wonders, thanks again. :)

Bounce 05-18-2008 08:46 PM

I just upgraded and having a small problem

I tested if this worked and it does everything until i send the report ..

I redirects to /forum/misc.php and its a blank page?

Is there summit I am doing wrong ?

Thanks

Boofo 05-18-2008 09:28 PM

Must be. Did you read the install file carefully? You are the only one who has reported any problems with this so it has to be something you missed somewhere. The only thing the new version adds is the security token update.

Sorted B

I disabled the send PM to user (which was myself) I was testing it myself so maybe it was never gonna send a report to myself LOL :erm:

Anyhow sorted and working grand, thanks

Boofo 05-19-2008 05:46 AM

You lost me. You did what now?

Lost myself lol...

I had Send Reports via PM active.

I entered my own ID in the Report to User section and PM'ed myself then reported my own PM LOL , this gave me the error I was having :D

Boofo 05-19-2008 03:24 PM

Well, I just tried the exact same test you did and it worked fine for me, with no error. ;)

Ok I changed the image by going to "Template: reportbadpm_button" but now how to do I get it next to Forward and Reply??

punchbowl 05-29-2008 08:55 PM

great mod but I reported a pm I had sent and it didn't say who I had sent it to.

Boofo 05-29-2008 09:16 PM

Check your settings.

It works fine. Try going into your sent items and reporting one of your own pms. The report will leave out who the pm was sent to:

punchbowl has reported a private message:

Boofo 05-30-2008 03:07 PM

You are kidding right? Who got the PM?

Nope. The intended recipient. I'll try clarify.

Admin sends a pm to a user ('bill')

"Could you please refrain from being an ass. Any more and the mods will ban at will"

and then decides he wants to share that pm with the mods. He goes into his sent items and clicks report pm.

The subsequent report thread will say who sent the pm but not have any mention of bill.

Probably by design.

Boofo 05-30-2008 03:49 PM

Regular PMs do it the same way. That's why they are called "Private" messages.

Boofo 05-30-2008 04:28 PM

I was not upset, either at your question or your uninstalling it. Makes no matter to me. I saw the post before you deleted it by the way.

Boofo 05-30-2008 04:36 PM

You did it again. Newbies...

punchbowl 05-31-2008 10:08 AM

I'm not new. I uninstalled it because it doesn't offer the functionality I'd hoped for and I already have a report pm mod installed that works fine.

Is the "*[reportpm_manager]*" in admincp part of this mod? I uninstalled and it's still there.

You did seem upset or else you wouldn't have gone patronizing two posts ago:)

Boofo 05-31-2008 10:37 AM

Read the install file and reverse it. I was only patronizing to someone who was posting and deleting those posts. If you don't like something don't use it, but don't slam something you have no idea what you are talking about.

No actually you started the patronizing before I blasted anything before that I was asking was a specific feature available. Then I deleted my posts as I thought they were unfair on you considering you provide a working product for free.

Anyhow I went uninstall in acp and the "*[reportpm_manager]*" is still there.

Not to worry though. No big deal.

Boofo 05-31-2008 12:00 PM

Because you didn't delete the files you uploaded. Remember those?

I was only patronizing to the messages you were posting that I got the email notifications for before you deleted them. Didn't know those went out even though you deleted the posts, did you? ;)

GreasySpoon 05-31-2008 12:24 PM

Hi Boofo,

thanks for the hack.

I got a litle problem. I dont receive the reported PMs via PM and in the chosen thread. I see them only in the admincp. I am using 3.7.1.

I have set this options:
Send Reports via Forum: Id of an private forum
Report to Usergroup: none (blank)
Report to User: My ID

Jase2 05-31-2008 01:41 PM

This is a great hack, installed a while back but never said "thanks". ;)

What a lovely hack. :P
