Please search the thread there are few pages for the moment and some user have also asked about that.

This is misreading of the readme instructions.

Great mod. It's working seamlessly for me though the only problem I have is similar to the other user...won't display at all on IBProArcade. Look forward to a fix asap! :)

Did you saw the error ocurring?

My Vbulletin server and DB server are different machines, maybe there is an issue with this configuration. My support says that the two servers has the same date and time, and they're synched.

Looks like the chatbox is using the user's pc date and time, not the server one.

:(

My folder was also named this way. Thanks for pointing this out.

Hum that might be linked with the current date problem.

I'll have a look at that issue.

Yes indeed, I have corrected it in the upcoming version with bug corrections :D

dirty68 01-29-2008 03:22 PM

Looks cool Dev but ill stick to the old one for now

aidiesha 01-29-2008 03:28 PM

ok its done. the images must dump in template directory not root directory..thanks

Saint_ago 01-29-2008 03:49 PM

Ppl, i'd some issues with server date and time.

My vb file server time is different than my vb db server, and this was doing some strange errors like out of order messages and posts.

My host support just synched the time on the servers and all issues are gone.

Thanks a lot for those who helped me.

;)

1) I would like if possible for the archive to be checked by search engines, is this possible?

What I though was to make it so the archive is viewable by the non registered user?

2) Also is there any way of keeping the archive forever? - the reason being, content is king and I thing it would be beneficial!

cheers

Mally

Yes perhaps but you'd have to also allow user to see the chatbox itself.

Archives are kept forever unless you activate the scheduled task.

Haven't been able to reproduce the bug. There seems to be no problem on my side.

Have you tested it on a local test forum ?

theOZer 01-29-2008 04:23 PM

In Step 1 of the install instructions there's no mention of what to do with the prior MGC Chatbox v1.x entries we had to also add to our templates. Should we remove those entries in forumhome, modifyoptions, navbar? Should we also remove the MGC related entry in the template's "Additional CSS?"
OR, is this what you meant when you said, under Uninstall Instructions, '1/ Delete all the COMMANDS you had installed on the forum'? What COMMANDS could those be?
Love your hack/mod. It's a priceless addition to ANY forum.
Apologize if I'm not communicating well here; I don't understand some of your vernacular. Sorry.

VBDev 01-29-2008 04:31 PM

No no you're right instruction is not clear.

You have to remove all previous things from the chatbox v1.X, template edit and all other parts.

About time, look at the bug list this one is listed ;)

VBDev- I have inactivity set to 8 mins. It puts us inactive every 8mins... Even if you're posting. I've sent you the login details in PM. Refresh the page, and set a timer to 8 mins... somewhere near the end of that 8 mins... type something. when 8mins happens, it will make you inactive even though you just posted.

Sorry- didn't look in the bug list.. only in the forum topics.

Thanks!
Andrew

seems that theres no way to fix it

Quote:

I looked into your problem. I checked everything that I know of that can cause AJAX quick reply to fail on non-english characters, but I could find nothing wrong. AJAX quick reply simply does not work on your forum when those particular characters are present. I have disabled the problematic AJAX features for you to correct this:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> General Settings -> Disable AJAX Features

There is nothing else I can do to fix it. Some AJAX features like quick reply are just problematic and don't always work under some conditions.

Once you post an announcement via command, how do you remove it so that there is no longer an announcement space/message?

BatMNet 01-30-2008 12:26 AM

Great stuff.. Installed :D

inciarco 01-30-2008 01:07 AM

I've seen the Update, but I don't see in the Thumbnails one of the Great Improvements Expected of the List of all the Smilies!! :(

In many other Mods I've seen how they do it with a Simple Dropdown Menu with the Basic Smilies and the "More..." Link to open the Window with all the Smilies!!

I'll been waiting for that to Update the MGC Chatbox I've installed in my Forums!! :(

My Best Regards!! ;)

:)

Queball_Beast 01-30-2008 02:45 AM

Hi
How do I remove or delete all chats without waiting for the automatic chat removal?

All the permissions are set properly, but when I click on the little bin image nothing happens also when I click on a menu arrorw next to a members name to delete all their chats or a specific chat it still does not work, everything else seems to be working fine so it there something i`m missing?.

[ Running VB-3.68 ]

Thanks

adnedarn 01-30-2008 02:55 AM

to clear the whole chat... and you already have DEL Command installed... in the chat type:

/del all

if it doesn't work, make sure you installed teh command correctly would be my guess. :)

Queball_Beast 01-30-2008 03:10 AM

Thanks "adnedarn" that worked although I tried over and over plus search all over for the command and was unble to find it.

How do I delete 1 particular chat? I can edit any chat I desire but i`m unable to delete just 1

Thanks again

adnedarn 01-30-2008 03:44 AM

to delete one post.. you use the green arrow on the left of their name. and in the drop down select "remove the chat of *username*" to delete all of a person's chats in the whole log... select the down arrow and select "remove all chats of*username*"

adnedarn 01-30-2008 03:46 AM

Another little problem.. if there are any smilies used in the chat, it makes half of the last (bottom/new) line disappear. Kinda like in the old version, but it doesn't move "up" so far... It may be happening more on the larger smilies.. but i think it happens with all/most of them. Perhaps you could look at that when you login too...?
Thanks!
Andrew

Queball_Beast 01-30-2008 03:51 AM

Ok this is the problem i`m having right here. I can delete all chat using the command you told me about before but, if I use the drop down menu to delete 1 chat or all that members chats it does not work for me.

Anything i`m doing wrong or missing? I have uploaded all the commands.

I heard that it could be coming from the server somehow but don't know much on what particular thing could cause that.

There is not direct way do to that unless you go into your admincp to empty the setting.

Do you want me to enhance the announcement command so that it has two syntaxes :
  • /announcement set your_announcement_text
  • /announcement del

This is dependant of the height of the chatbox you have put.

I don't count the number of chats displayed in the box but take into account the height you put in the options so I can do anything about that.

Have you installed the del command correctly ? As said in the del command install readme, you have to upload files and then import the del command.
Check also that you don't have the problem of the mgc_cb_evo_cmd folder in the clientscript not well named bug (see bug list).

Queball_Beast 01-30-2008 04:22 AM

Ok just so that I post a feedback.. the problem was just as "VBDev" stated.

This folder was named incorrectly.
it was named mg_cb_evo_cmd but should have been named mgc_cb_evo_cmd very easy to slip the eye
Quote:

Command folder in clientscript not well named (mg_cb_evo_cmd instead of mgc_cb_evo_cmd)

Time.

The time on the chatbox is always 1 hour behind the current forum time, I checked all the settings in the ACP and in my Usercp which all seems to be fine.

The chatbox options are setup correctly but I still get a time lapse .. any ideas why?

Thanks for all the help.
