This mod keeps parsing my media as links. Apparently it's not saving the media info to the database...

EDIT: Never mind. Got it working. The product was missing plugins for editpost, so I had to create them myself.

You have to refresh the page if you post from quick reply.

xixxon 12-30-2007 07:34 PM

nix 12-30-2007 07:48 PM

nix 12-30-2007 08:14 PM

iogames 12-30-2007 09:30 PM

Then I will wait for the new version to install for first time LOL!
[been preparing for this ]

Networknutz 12-31-2007 05:21 AM

Hi,

I created a post a couple days ago about an error I was getting when trying to install this module.

Quote:

"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/abc/public_html/test/goldbrick/plugins/bbcode_create.php on line 52"
Got a response asking if my host was running php 5 which it was not. I made changes to upgrade to php 5 and got the following errors on my homepage.

Quote:

Warning: Division by zero in /global.php(365) : eval()'d code on line 145
Anyone help?

Thanks
Will

nix 12-31-2007 07:18 AM

not sure if that has anything to do with Goldbrick.

testebr 12-31-2007 02:44 PM

In 2008 my votes are for nix release the classic style again o/

nix 12-31-2007 05:04 PM

I'll try and do one better. How about in 07 ;)

Aeolian 01-02-2008 04:52 AM

I don't have a live 3.7 site but it's pretty much the same version as 3.6. It's installed on numerous 3.6 sites.

Need more info but chances are you're running php 4.

I'm adding that. I've changed some behind the sences code and fixed some other bugs I've noticed. I also have the classic style back for those who like it. I've also added profiles.

unitedpunjab 01-03-2008 02:52 PM

any ETA on the update ? :)

jswiss 01-03-2008 04:57 PM

ok

a couple of things:

this mod does not run under php4* so make sure you're running php5*

once i set it up under <php5 & vb37.3) it didn't work, but i'm making progress... (when i say it didn't work, the goldbrick links to, say, a youtube link didn't open as i thought they would, they just went to the actual youtube link)

so, i'm just gonna say i think this is an excellent mod and has great potential and i do appreciate that both vb37 and the goldbrick mod are in a 'test-phase' so, thanks to one and all for terrific ideas and continued development!

installed... (uninstalled), but 'll try again tomorrow :)

Did you use quick reply to post a link? If so refresh the page. If not send me a link so I can look at it.

hi nix:
first, an excellent mod for which i say again thanks!
second, i had to kill php5 on my server today because (other php apps got dead, so i'm trying to resolve that issue with my host)
third, i didn't use quick reply - it was a new thread, i selected goldbrick options and off i went... added new thread, link to youtube and after i went back to check new thread (refreshed) it just popped over to the actual youtube link. (no goldbrick interface)

as soon as i get my other php apps up and running under php5, i will reinstall and test and report back.

this is a seriously cool mod!!! i'll be happy to donate some $? when it's gold!

nix 01-03-2008 05:45 PM

The goldbrick options are only for local or non media sites. Don't need them with video sites.

If the link goes to youtube it because the js isn't loading. Do you have a custom skin? Also when you get it back up and running try the classic stye. See if that works. It should be out by the time you're ready to try goldbrick again.

ADomoWorld 01-04-2008 03:33 AM

Nix I gotta say I really enjoy this product. Although I dont know wether I have PHP 5 Or not but its frustrating to know that thats the only possible way to use this. I got many many errors. Id hope you can come up with a solution. Or Make it easier to use with other versions of PHP.

I created my own codes to patch this but id like to know if their is a way to use it on VBA CMPS ?

nix 01-04-2008 04:06 AM

I went with php 5 only since it's no longer in development. I really cannot see any reason not to be running 5 now. The only thing that makes it php 5 only is the goldbrick_class file. It's using some of the new features of PHP 5.

Basically when the developers stop supporting a product I see no reason for coders to support it. IMO of course.

jswiss 01-04-2008 05:52 PM

ok check this out:

from my forum (http://www.mygrunge.com/testvb/showthread.php?t=9) the url to your youtube video is

[media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjA5faZF1A8[/media]

when i go here http://www.mygrunge.com/testvb/showthread.php?t=10
the youtube url is: this is a tiger

so yours works [media]

but mine [url] doesn't... so how am i adding the youtube.url wrong?

(because if i don't get it right the first time, then my mom sure won't) !!!

lol & thanks!

nix 01-04-2008 05:58 PM

Just post the url. Don't wrap it in any bbcode tags.

So just paste this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbbVxkMRqXA

and hit reply or post.

ADomoWorld 01-04-2008 07:30 PM

Hey is their any way to get it to work on VBA CMPS?

thanks!
