Here is a dumb question. I have a list or radio stations that I would like to install but how do I actually see and copy the link of it? All of them pop up with radios so you cant view the actuall link to the stream.

A suggestion .. I'd like to wrap the main page with CMPS and have it so when someone picks a radio station a much smaller window pops up with the radio streaming from that. This would then allow people to continue to look at the other radio stations and the rest of the site in the same main window while listening to the radio using the small window.

Is there a way of getting this easily? Thanks :)

No there isn't.

Hello Dream and congratulations!

Pardon, but this Mod is compatible with all browser?
It work fine with IE but don't with FF, is there some problems?

Thank you :)

This mod was developed using Firefox so it should work. Someone mentioned in this thread problems when using some plugin for Firefox.

In Safari, when you click on a new stream, continues to play the old stream and the play the new one. Change streams a few times and drop a little acid you could have a good time. ;)

Camino has some issues with this as well. Once you have the player going, any text box you type into get a white highlight and once you type something anything you run the cursor over gets this white highlight.

It's simply not usable as it is now in Camino or Safari.

Also I uploaded those LA stations put up last night and really don't care for them but trying to delete the category and have delete songs clicked, it won't let me delete that category??

I don't have a Mac to test this with. That looks like a problem with Safari and Camino though.

But one question:

is it possible to creat a pulldown-menu to change the stations like in vbradio ?? maybe at the bottom of the media player...

No.

No that's not the objective of this free mod. You can add AdSense etc easily by editing the RADIOSTATIONS_ templates.

Greek76 07-14-2007 10:56 PM

How do you find the id of a station you want to play as a default? What do you add the stream url?

iHostile 07-14-2007 11:48 PM

Whats changed? iv been away for afew days n seen its been updated lol

hmmm - not to sound like the bigest +++++++ that ever did live - but I can't believe some people commenting negatively about this radio modification - I used vBRadio and this one is tons better IMO --- Anyway - WOW! Seems like there should be more comments like "AWESOME!" and "WOW! Thanx so much for this modification DREAM - you are a vB God!" or "Nice! Very very nice... AND Exquisite... Thanx!" and perhaps even "Wow! If only I had the money to send that $300+ donation I would..."

Anyway :rolleyes:

Does this "integrate with VBRadio or should we uninstall that first or No or what?

You have to check the code of the webpage, there should be a URL in the <embed> or <object> tag in the HTML.

You need to mouseover a station you want to play and check the number that appears in the status bar of the browser.

It doesn't integrate, but you can keep both at the same time if you want.

Really great. Nominating...

RvG2 07-15-2007 03:55 AM

IMO, no reason to keep vbRadio. Radio Stations is completely enough!

BTW, it looks like you can code also to view "TV" stations also? :)

I have seen some mod in SMF like this... :)

Okay I guess, but did you have a thought on how to delete that Los Angeles category? Even though the "delete stations" is checked, a requester box is popping up saying it can't delete it because there's 12 stations in it.

Naw - Thank YOU!
This mod is really excellent!
So much so that I even added a graphic at the top of our Radio: http://jpicforum.info/radiostations.php
I've been waiting and hoping someone would do a Radio mod for vB 3.6.x
So this is like a godsend - Really appreciate it!
Just earned a few extra monies for web design - will be sending a small donation soon!
Thanx,

when you edit the nav bar,... if you add a couple of lines of code before and after you can solve this easily,....

eg... instead of adding.......

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="javascript penRadioStations()$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[rs_radiostations]</a></td>

you should add......

<if condition="$show['member']"><td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="javascript penRadioStations()$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[rs_radiostations]</a></td></if>

hope this helps you and others out mate! ;)

Since this is listed as an unsupported mod, I guess it's okay to post this...

Myself and at least one other person would prefer this mod to open a vb page instead of a popup window. Problem was, the navbar wasn't recognized. Here's the fix.

In the radiostations.php file find:
Code:

// ############################ CONFIG VARS ##############################
$admin_groups = rs_do_array($vbulletin->options['radiostations_admins']);
$full_users = rs_do_array($vbulletin->options['radiostations_full_users']);
$banned_users = rs_do_array($vbulletin->options['radiostations_banned_users']);
$half_users = rs_do_array($vbulletin->options['radiostations_half_users']);
$default_station = $vbulletin->options['radiostations_default_station'];

Just below it add:

Code:

$navbits = array();
$navbits[$parent] = 'RADIOSTATIONS';
$navbits = construct_navbits($navbits);
eval('$navbar = "' . fetch_template('navbar') . '";');
$navbar = process_replacement_vars($navbar);
eval('$headinclude = "' . fetch_template('headinclude') . '";');
$headinclude = process_replacement_vars($headinclude);
eval('$footer = "' . fetch_template('footer') . '";');
$footer = process_replacement_vars($footer);

In the RADIOSTATIONS template find:
Code:

<body>
Add below it:
Code:

$header
$navbar

At the bottom of this same template, right above the:
Code:

</body>
add:
Code:

$footer
If you want to use this in a drop down menu from your navbar, add this:

Code:

<if condition="$show['member']"><tr><td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="radiostations.php?$session[sessionurl_q]" target="_blank">$vbphrase[rs_radiostations]</a></td></tr></if>
If you prefer to have it as it's own menu item in your navbar, add this:
Code:

<if condition="$show['member']"><td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="radiostations.php?$session[sessionurl_q]" target="_blank">$vbphrase[rs_radiostations]</a></td></if>
Both will open a new window/tab depending on how the users browser is set.

This works for me, if it doesn't for you, undo it and call me a moron. :D

jaymzz 07-15-2007 08:10 PM

Many thanks! Very nice addition.

Clicked Installed!

Southernphuk 07-15-2007 09:56 PM

Jacquii you could be pissed all you want - wasn't meant as a slap at Dream. I like the mod, said as much, but also thought it needed more, just wasn't working out for me but yes, I could have stated it a bit clearly.

Now, that having been said, Tulsa above just supplied me with the changes that just made this something very useable on my site now as I didn't like the idea of not having the header/footer and frankly, I'm a PHP idiot and only pick up on this stuff slowly.

Thank you Tulsa for the added bits there, came in handy!

Dream, nice job.

Tulsa 07-15-2007 10:36 PM

You're most welcome. I'm glad to hear it worked for someone else. :)

Just go to your admincp under the vbadvanced menu and edit the default settings and add radiostations.php to the navbar replacement settings, or header replacements if that's where you put your link.

Ok that has been fixed.

I updated the zip file, import the product product-radio-stations.xml with Allow Overwrite on to update your copy. There was a minor problem with the javascript handling the Delete Category function, it wasn't getting the Delete Stations option right.

Just the template RADIOSTATIONS_JAVASCRIPT was changed.

Stifmeister2 07-16-2007 12:02 AM

edit Nevermind, you just posted. :p

Tulsa thank you for taking your time to share this. You could release this as a modification, just put the Radio Stations thread ID to your modification info when releasing it. That way people may find it more easily, I'm afraid this will be buried in this thread when people reply to it more.

Dream 07-16-2007 12:43 AM

Jacquii, you put Guests in your Half-Users usergroup permissions, I think that doesn't work very well. They will be able to add favorites, rate stations and report stations... It will work to some extent (anyone will be able to add/remove favorites and change the Guest rating of a station) but that wasn't meant to work that way, so some problem might occur. I don't think any will, but it just wasn't expected to work that way, so when a Guest reports a station for example, the username will come blank. Just a heads up. It just wasn't thought out to work that way.

PoetJA-1975 07-16-2007 01:12 AM

Thanx for the heads-up DREAM - I had the permissions all messed up LOL
Anyway - I think it's sorted correctly now

Jacquii.

Dream 07-16-2007 01:17 AM

Uhmm I'll take a look at it. Guests can still rate stations on your site.

PoetJA-1975 07-16-2007 01:21 AM

I just edited the permissions DREAM - kinda had it screwed up LOL
Fixed now though = Thanx!

Dream, thanks for the kind words. I think it would be better served for everyone that was interested if you could simply include it in the top post, I'm sure a zip file would work out for everyone. That way it's always here with your mod.

aycan555 07-16-2007 01:38 AM

Is it possible to add the radios logo 25x25 ??

I think you have updated the hack today, what changes you have made? do we need to update it?

I have vb 3.6.4.

Sorry, I'm not using the popup window that you are. You might try putting in the absolute path in the navbar link.

Code:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="http://www.yoursite.com/forum directory/javascript:openRadioStations()">$vbphrase[rs_radiostations]</a></td>
