Can you add SWG (Star Wars Galaxies) and MxO (The Matrix Online) to this?

FuzzyBear 08-07-2007 04:16 PM

Thanx for any help :)

all working fine now =]

Oz_Berserk 08-08-2007 04:09 AM

It would be great if we could change the 'Recruitment Application' generic post title to something like "Applicant's Name - Level - Class". Other than that, it's an awesome mod!

Please look at the options - everything is there. You can change "Recruitment Application" to anything.

Under vboptions there are option sets for this mod that allow you to fully customize everything from general settings, to questions, to styles.

Awesome mod dude. Thanks! Works perfectly!

read back a few threads.

This is caused because you have your imaging verification turned on.

So this can be used for any game, not just WoW? Thank you in advance! :)

manub 09-06-2007 05:55 AM

My host doesn't support the curl library. Do I have to use the version without Armory?

Beaver 09-07-2007 06:37 PM

What would it take for you to make a version of this thats not 100% WoW centred?

I & many others who run clans/teams and use vb have been looking for something like this for a long time.

I'll happily devote time/effort/resources to help make it happen if needed. :smile:

Tez? 09-07-2007 07:09 PM

any way you can make a generic version of this mod for other games or the game i play

that would be amazing as well

check ur pms

I have been thinking about creating a generic version of this for all games and that's what I'm leaning towards for all of my modifications. Right now I'm working on a loot system and as I worked heavily into this, I realized it would be better served to make the mod portable for all games.

Given that, yes I will be porting this modification (and my raid calendar modification) so that it supports "all" game formats. In addition, I will be publishing my Loot distribution system as well which is very detailed and houses a number of ajax features.

I hope that satisfies your question. :)

i am not sure if anyone really has said this or understands this but i really do beleive this to be one of the best mods ever made simply because the gaming generation is growing in overwhelming numbers....i myself am 31 years old and love online rpgs as a past time for when my wife and kids go to bed and i cant fall asleep yet

this mod right now for all of us guild leaders like myself and assistants is a much needed thing as it will give us so much more free time ....i get more then 10 apps per day for 2 Moons and i cant keep up with the copy and pasteing the app to the private section or moving it and making it into a pole for the other officers to vote on

this mod by far wins the mod of the year award in my book

some things you might want to add when you are doing this is that after the person is voted and approved it auto adds them into the right user group for guild or clan

i love the app, i love the its moved and turned into a poll to be voted on....just add the auto usergroup option and it will "pwn" every mod out there for guilds and clans for gaming

really pat yourself on the back on this one....its the best mod i have seen on here so far

You rock! Thanks.

Starpurge 09-23-2007 12:03 PM

I already installed and am greatly impressed and interested in this mod. I set it up and understand how to change the title of the thread the mod creates.

I saw earlier that you replied about enabling the mod to create the thread titled with the persons class/name. Then shortly after seem to reply to the same question saying it can be changed.

I was wonding if you can have it so each thread posted would grab the applicants name and class and use that as the title. I have looked over the options in my admin settings and cannot find a way to do this. Just to confirm, I'm looking for a way to have the title of the forum post change for each applicant displaying their name and class. Not just a generic title for every applicant.

If there is a way to do this already, advice on how to do so would be great.

Thanks

Kahoona 09-26-2007 11:18 AM

Great mod. :D

And I have the same question as Starpurge.

This would have to be the most important mod on the horizon for gaming clans like mine. I'm a 44yr old father of 3 who runs a G(family) rated gaming clan (ET:)) for parents and and their children (a good excuse for us big kids:p). I loved the concept of Abe1's form hack but despite going cross-eyed for days I was unable to get it(my application form) working with it. Abe1's form hack is just beyond me and so my only other option is to wait and be thankful that there are people like you who can improve on it for VBnoobs like me.

cheers:D

Dsru123 10-03-2007 01:12 AM

SO, I love the idea of this thing.
I installed without a hitch.

All my forums are open right now as I create our new page. old page www.jettclan.net has been going for many years, but Postnuke is not well supported with the mods and such I want. Our new page www.jettcommunity is based off of vB and Vba,.

Now, if I am doing this right, it will not surprise me if I am not,

I created a post to test the form.

Here:
http://www.jettcommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22

When I click on it the form comes up, but not as logged in (interesting, think this might have to do with vBa wrapper. But what is interesting, after I set up which forum I want to send it to (I beleive I have all settings right)(you can preview the form OK too) and hit the submit, I get this message:

Fatal error: Existing data passed is not an array
Called set_existing in /www/www.jettcommunity.com/forums/newthread.php(71) : eval()'d code on line 1034
Called eval in /www/www.jettcommunity.com/forums/newthread.php on line 71
in /includes/class_dm.php on line 235

So, I MUST have something wrong and I cant figure it out. Any help would be appreciate.

Necrosaro420 10-03-2007 07:35 PM

Do you have a form for any other mmorpg that a 3 year old cant understand and play? =)

Nandakal 10-09-2007 09:31 AM

MM.. looks great :) did install it but cant get the custom title on thread to work....

it should be for example: $answer1 - $dropdownanswer1 [$dropdownanswer5($answer1) $dropdownanswer6($answer2) $dropdownanswer7($answer4)]

Other than that

Also, would be great to customize the poll to i.e. include Charactername....

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
-N.

Well, got rid of error message but still comes up with being UNREGISTERED. I am assuming that this has to do with vBAdvanced. Any thoughts.

Luxus 10-25-2007 04:37 AM

it is posible to copy a thread to public?
i want a nonpublic thread for intern discussion and poll. and a public thread where we can make comments and wrote our result. it is posible?

afmarko99 10-31-2007 12:03 AM

Yes I would love it if you had a generic recruitment form. Abes form 4.0 is also really hard to setup correctly. Looking forward to a generic game form.

afmarko99 10-31-2007 12:15 AM

Is there anyway I can edit the template to have around 10-20 customizable questions?

atomhead 12-13-2007 12:51 AM

Sweet mod. Thanks!

atomhead 12-13-2007 01:06 AM

One suggestion, either add the option to or make it default to add the name of the applicant in the title of the thread created. Just so people who see the voting block in vBadvanced CMPS can see who they are voting on.

clayh456 12-23-2007 08:32 PM

This is a great mod, and its ease-of-use stomps Form Hack 4.0 flat (albeit a great form mod nonetheless). However, it's essentially useless to anyone looking to use such a technology for a non-World of Warcraft or non-Gaming purpose (which is, believe it or not, just as large of a group looking for a product/plug-in such as this).

I know I can use phrasing to modify the questions & output, but editing the output (font sizes & etc., as well as organization of the information), and editing the answering options/methods is too much of a hassle. I also couldn't seem to figure out how to disable the portion that asks for character name, race, class, level, etc. and thus assumed it was either impossible or otherwise not worth it.

I'll keep an eye on this mod for improvements, and an eye on similar mods that may sprout up in the future.

an option i would like to see and i am willing to help on is customizable questions and answer types through the admin cp... also layout etc.....

as i said i am willing to help out in this if it is needed.... or with permission i will modify the system and submit it but i would rather cooperate with the author....

i have ideas for more features but those are the two i feel most important....

It seems to be a problem with unregistered users only. Registered users can complete the form.

thanks for addons ^^

Flootroops 02-06-2008 02:02 PM

I love this mod and I am currently using it at my site, http://www.micthrillaz.com/vindex.php.

I get an error message when I submit an application and I am not logged in. The error is:

Code:

Fatal error: Existing data passed is not an array
Called set_existing in /var/www/vhosts/micthrillaz.com/httpdocs/forumz/newthread.php(71) : eval()'d code on line 1034
Called eval in /var/www/vhosts/micthrillaz.com/httpdocs/forumz/newthread.php on line 71
in /includes/class_dm.php on line 235

Is there a way to make it say something to the effect of "You must create a forum account and be logged in to submit an application" instead of that error message?

Thanks for the help.

This product uses the base code and is purely a revamp of FORM HACK by Abe, customized for Application Form WoW purposes. Before this came out, I used Abe's Form Hack and found it great, you just need to know how to edit the source code to make the answers yourself, and he shows you how, for the most part.

Any and all questions should be able to be removed directly from the plugin code, which is how it was done via Abe's product, this one just attempted to give you all available questions you'd possibly need as a WoW guild site so that no one would have to edit code. (I still do.)

What fonts do you wish to modify? The form fonts? The fonts of the data spit out to the new thread, PM, etcetera? I can't help you if I don't know what you need. :)

Cheers!

Odd. Have you enabled usergroup permissions in the Form Configurations Options? If so, have you input the specific usergroups able to use the form? This would disable viewing of this form for unregistered users so this issue wouldn't happen, instead they'd get a forum error message telling them they need to register or login.

You can edit this directly by going to the plugin code (Form One) and changing

Code:

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//TITLE OF FORM (do not use quotation marks or you will get a parse error, besides the quotes around the whole title)
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

$formtitle = $vbulletin->options['wow_form_tit'];

to

Code:

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//TITLE OF FORM (do not use quotation marks or you will get a parse error, besides the quotes around the whole title)
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

$formtitle = "Application Form - $answer1";

Replace "Application Form" with whatever, or just leave $answer1 if you just want the Character Name as the title without the rest. I'm trying to avoid an extra array doing it this way. :)
