cool!! that'd be great. maybe make some baseline so its easy for customers to make and share their own themes and RPGs as well. kinda like a modders community for inferno vbRPG. :D

SUGGESTION for next theme pack:

sci-fi theme pack (star wars/star trek/or any space oriented game-- like UT, Halo, Quake, etc etc) you already have a fantasy one. Sci-fi oriented one would be the next obvious one. :)

Got it installed on my 3.65 forum and its an incredible piece of work. Very robust in many areas. It was so impressive I bought the updated full version!

Its beyond my scope of skill as far getting it setup for play so I will post a wanted help thread later in the Pay for help forums but even so I am very excited about this!

You guys did an amazing job and I know you are working on other mods and updates for this. Cant wait to see those!

+1

Inferno Tech 05-20-2007 01:41 PM

*edit*

works now, dont no why though :P

Inferno Tech 05-20-2007 02:48 PM

That problem would have been a problem with your php distrribution, it may have been restarting or being upgraded, not sure though apart from it isn't an error on our side

treader 05-25-2007 04:01 AM

ok just downloaded and installed on 3.6.7

been playing around with it, and this is pretty damn cool :)

one question though, when creating a RPG profile. How hard would it be to add/edit the existing inputs that are there? Like say i wanted to remove/change the "Character Alignment" and make it something else like light and dark side, sort of a more star-wars related theme, instead of good and evil?

If this isn't too hard to do, how would one go about doing this?

And can this be done in the full version?... if this is possible, i will certainly buy the full verson :)

This is pretty damn cool tho :p

Inferno Tech 05-25-2007 09:04 AM

to find out what phrases to change, the easiest way would be go Languages & Phrases->Search In Templates and search for inferno and select Phrase Variable only

Am very unimpressed with the support, I feel like my money has been wasted, what's more, it was user donated money to get this plugin up.

I don't see that it's too much to ask to have instructions how to integrate this with an existing cash system.

I could probably understand if I wasn't having to pay for it, but if you're going to charge for your work a level of service is expected.

Inferno Tech 05-25-2007 10:52 AM

Gray if you do a search on the support forums, which you currently have access to, you should find an answer to that question :) Support for paid versions is given there, not here.

Secondly, we offer support, however i do not understand why you feel this should extend to us telling you how to modify the product. If you buy a playstation game from a store, do you expect support from sony on how to make it run on an X-Box? Do you expect the helplines to tell you how to modify the game?

You do not, therfore i feel it is unfair that you should somehow see us as lesser to them simply because we do not sell in retail outlets.

Paying for a product does not automatically entitle you the right to an answer to any question about how to do anything with the product. If you have a problem, we will fix it, if there is a bug, we will fix it, if you cannot get it running, we will help you. We do not have time to mod it for everyone who asks however. :)

I hope you understand that we will do everything we can to make sure the product works for you, but we are not obliged to tell you how to do things the system was not designed for, if you want to do something it was not designed for, then you should ask on a place like vb.org.

Try emailing Jelsoft, and asking them how to migrate their posts to work on IPB, or something similar. They won't answer your request, will i see a similar vitriol agaisnt Jelsoft? I doubt it. Just because we are a small company, does not give you the right to treat us badly just because you bought something from us.

Thanks for listening,

Iain Kidd, Inferno Technologies Co-Owner

If you want to start claiming you own a "business" you should learn the first rule of any, and that is that the customer is always right.

If you insist on charging for a watered-down level 2 service which is basically an expansion on previously free mods that are now out of date, due to patch releases, then you should think about having it fully integratable in the first place.

It strikes me as utterly stupid that you would sell this without stating that unlike nearly every cash-orientated mod out there THIS ONE doesn't intergrate with any of them, and then having CLOSED support forums so anyone wanting to buy the plugin can't even check if this is a resolved issue.

You are selling a product to customers, and a customer has complained that the product is not up to scratch in comparison to all the other (might I add mainly free) products on the market. This is perfectly acceptable, I'm not asking for you to make the mod cook my dinner for me, I'm asking you why it doesn't do the function of most releases out there, and then even telling you that if you give me the correct references I would do it myself. But that's too much for you.

And no, you're wrong, there is no existing support for what I need, as I've already checked and checked again... all it consists of is promises of "soon to be released" or "coming with next patch" (which will probably cost extra).

You've been nothing but useless and to be honest your last reply is pathetic and is the reason why your support is so poor, you expect to charge everyone for it then leave it at that, and that isn't how any economy works. You don't deserve to charge for your products.

I will be contacting you for a refund.

Zero Tolerance 05-25-2007 01:36 PM

I should note, development on v2.4 was frozen long ago. We offer it seperately for those who prefer 2.4 over version 3, instead of paying for v3 just to obtain 2.4 :)

Support doesn't cost anything, as for integration, the system simply wasn't designed for this, you can blame me for that, but a 3rd party system with money integration would mess the game up (in the sense of balance anyway). Also as Decado noted, support forums aren't here, unfortunately we can't keep our eyes everywhere :)

As for the references you asked for, I believe they were given to you? If not:
Table: inferno_user
Field: money

I can honestly say we've never charged existing clients for new releases, wether it bug releases or feature updates/upgrades, even users from the original system still get the latest updates without paying anything extra.

You're entitled to your opinion I guess, if you have anything further to add to the matter feel free.

Thanks for the more helpful reply, I appreciate it.

Does v3 work with 3.6.6? And does it offer this integration? Or if not how soon would that be?

Inferno Tech 05-25-2007 07:51 PM

yes v3 is available on 3.6.6 due to the fact that it is still under development and i believe the details were sent to you gray by me, if not then i apologise. As for integration it may be available for the gold release that is soon to be released. As for v2.4 if you wish to make a feautre request then please go to the Inferno Support section of GZ|E and we will see what we can do.

DementedMindz 06-01-2007 04:30 PM

I would have to say I'm highly disappointed with the paid version of this. The support they offer is terrible, it don't have a uninstaller so if something goes wrong you need to remove it via phpmyadmin, you email them they dont answer you back but yet you see them having a full convo on there site shoutbox, you have to create your own setup yes they do have a starter pack but it would be like having a arcade on your site with only one game thats how terrible it is. Just wasted my money when I went with the pro version so if others read this then think twice. Then to think you just paid for a product and if you want to have quest then you will have to buy them also But yet there is none out there still making them.

Inferno Tech 06-01-2007 05:29 PM

Well im sorry to hear that you have had a bad experiance, rpg inferno does have an uninstaller admincp/rpginferno_uninstallation.php. What emailaddress did you send your questions to?

Also what you need to bear in mind is that version 2.4 has been discontinued a while ago, and the team are currently working on version 3 Gold. If you had problems you could have used the Support pages on GZ|E and you would have an answer as quick as you would if you posted it here.

I am using v3 and no there is no uninstaller at all only way to remove it is from phpmyadmin. I have emailed business@infernotechnologies.net but with no reply I have posted in the support forums on GZ|E but your lucky if you get a reply from a staff member everyone is to busy on the shout box or I guess you have to fit in the "click" to get support.

Inferno Tech 06-01-2007 05:55 PM

Well could you modify your previous post stating that you are on about v3? and everyone gets equal support on the forums, if you wish to pm me on there, and i will try to help you with your problems.

Acid Burn - Inferno Technologies Developer

DementedMindz 06-01-2007 06:01 PM

modify my previous post about what? I'm using v3 so what is there to modify? I think everything i have posted thus far is truthful.

Inferno Tech 06-01-2007 07:47 PM

This thread is about v2.4, please don't post about other products in here :)

EDIT: For the record, the business email adress is for that - Business. Anything else gets deleted without even being opened. Support is done on the forums, where the average response time is approx 4 hours.

- Iain

DementedMindz 06-01-2007 07:49 PM

well I was just letting others know about it as there is other v3 post in this topic also.

Inferno Tech 06-01-2007 07:58 PM

For the record, i can only see one post you made requesting support, and the problem was resolved within 45 minutes, despite it being 3-4am in the morning :)

Your other posts have all been asking for free stuff, and not requesting support at all.

Asking for things for free is NOT support related questions, which probably explains why you aren't getting a reply :)

- Iain

DementedMindz 06-01-2007 08:02 PM

solved in 45 mins yeah by me removing it and reinstalling it since it has nothing in it to drop db tables you have to do it manually via phpmyadmin if you install the starter pack you cant remove all the towns I asked how to but yet was never answered by a support person only someone on the site who said you can try and do it this way but not one response by a staff member even though there was staff on the site and active in the shoutbox.

Inferno Tech 06-01-2007 08:33 PM

Virtually all of the staff on GZE have nothing to do with Inferno Technologies, only 3 members of staff there at the most are related to Inferno Technologies

Acid Burn - Inferno Technologies Developer

DementedMindz 06-01-2007 08:43 PM

Yeah like I posted on the site I'm just going to remove RPG Inferno 3.0 and be done with it and never refer anyone there and cut my loses. Not even 24 hours it was installed had to remove it cause I couldn't remove shops even asked on site but was never responded to by a "Inferno Technologies Staff Member". So once again you get another customer who is unhappy as there seems to be alot of them and keep in mind word of mouth is everything to a business.

Inferno Tech 06-01-2007 10:46 PM

Just to clarify, could you please point me to the thread you made asking how to remove shops? I searched the entire site and couldn't find it. Thanks.

- Iain
