Note that the standard time limit is 5 minutes, so I don't know where this 120 minutes is coming from as I have never used that number for anything on my forum...

Did you try to uninstall this plugin and check with out it?
I think you meesed some thing in forum's options.
What option didn't you change in forum's ACP?

Greg-J 07-08-2008 07:13 PM

Apparently I was looking at the wrong setting.

I have both Time Limit on Editing of Thread Title and Time Limit on Editing of Posts set to 120 apparently.

So it seems like this mod simply isn't working for me at all. I have a specific forum set with 14400 and have made sure the Registered usergroup has the option to edit a thread and title, but still no dice.

I should also note that I am using per_forum_edit_time_limit_1_2.zip. I do not see a 1.3 anywhere...

Version 1.2 doesn't work since 3.6.5.
Version 1.3 you can find in this post #1447697 in its attachment.

Don't forget also, that your specific forum must have proper permissions for Registered Users.

Greg-J 07-09-2008 07:40 PM

The OP should add that package to the first post.

Thank you.

Thank you very much! :)

Does anybody happen to know if there's any easy way to make the limit apply to moderators as well? I mean - something I can do, that won't take a lot of your time to tell me about?

Been Told 09-18-2008 03:42 PM

Nice mod! But is there any way to make it per usergroup rather than per forum? Or even both?

I think of course there is a way.

Same here :)
But we have to ask Dismounted to allow to modify his code for new futures.

ManagerJosh 09-22-2008 08:01 PM

Any 3.7.3 users having issues?

Hornstar 09-24-2008 09:13 PM

Dismounted, I was wondering if you could add the option to this mod, to allow a super admin to give unlimited time editing per post as well. Eg. there is a button that appears only for super admins on each post, and if the super admin clicks that button, then that post can now be edited by the person who made it.

Thanks.

That sounds cool :p. So I guess that'll be on my list.

Hornstar 09-29-2008 11:31 PM

cool, looking forward to it ^^

ATVTorture 11-11-2008 12:55 PM

I desperately need something just like this but by user group rather than by forum and for 3.7.3.

Any chances of you modding what you have here and creating a new mod?

Thanks!

mariocaz 11-11-2008 03:13 PM

This mod works absolutely fin in my 3.7.3 pl2, so u can install it ok.

ATVTorture 11-11-2008 03:28 PM

But I need something similar to this but different. I need one that I can limit by user group rather than by forum.

That is precisely what I need - I have so many threads which are reference points and the thread starter wants to be able to update his first post - but unless I allow unlimited edit time for everyone or create a new usergriup and continually add those contributors to it (pain in the butt) - it either falls to me to do the updating of them first post - or the updates disappear into the depths of the thread somewhere and get lost.

So for this option would be a lifesaver!

Mike :)

:) nice to know others feel the same. I personally feel it should be default in vbulletin, but until then, hopefully Dismounted finds some time to help us ^^ :D

home9000 02-21-2009 03:50 AM

Is there a way to make this hack work only on specific post?

home9000 02-21-2009 03:52 AM

or apply to specific member ?

snowname 03-06-2009 08:12 PM

Installed it on version 3.8.0. Not working.

I can see the edit button, but can not save any changes.

Is there anything support 3.8.0?

Hey dismounted, just wondering what your schedule is like currently. do you still have time to make this?

Dismounted 03-11-2009 06:21 AM

I'm surprisingly busy, but don't worry, I'll get it over onto 3.8, some day :p.

BadgerDog 03-11-2009 09:48 AM

Thank you Dismounted ...

Installed .....

Just what I needed for our forums ... :)

Regards,
Badger

Edit: Had to uninstall as it doesn't work... thank you for your efforts though...

Hello Makc666 ... :)

Thank you very much for your efforts to get this going, as I really need it for our WTS/WTB forums.....

I tried to install it and got the message that it only works with v3.68 or greater....

I have v3.67pl1 .... :(

I hate to ask, but is there any way we can get a compatible version for v3.67pl, even on a pay-to-fix basis....

Thank you again for your consideration....

Regards,
Badger

Update to 3.6.12.
I don't see any reason for you to run on 3.6.7PL1.

Any way you can try to download none-official 1.3 from this post
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....7&postcount=68

Open it.
product-per_forum_edit_time_limit.xml

Change:

this:
PHP Code:

        <dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="3.6.8" maxversion="" />

to:
PHP Code:

        <dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="3.6.7" maxversion="" />

this:
PHP Code:

            <hookname>fetch_foruminfo</hookname>
            <
phpcode><![CDATA[if (isset($vbulletin->bf_misc['pfetlforumoptions']))

to:
PHP Code:

            <hookname>fetch_foruminfo</hookname>
            <
phpcode><![CDATA[global $vbulletin;
if (isset(
$vbulletin->bf_misc['pfetlforumoptions']))

No guarantees. Never tested.

I'll make changes and let you know... :)

Thank you very much... appreciate it....

This would be very helpful to the old collectors in our WTS/WTB forums....

Badger

EDIT: Installed your modded v1.7 for v3.67 and with a -1 setting, the "edit" and "delete" button function appears fine in the specified forum. Also it should be noted that I found out I could make the original author's released v1.2 work if I specified a number other than -1. ie: I used 86400 for 60 days (in minutes) and the "edit" and "delete" buttons appeared. Thanks again for your help... :)

Version is 1.3 and not 1.7 ;)

Also 1.2 doesn't work. Yes, you will see the buttons but when you try to edit some post as normal user you will get an notice that you can't.

To test you must try to edit some post as normal user. Then you will see if it work or not.

Correcttion ... v1.3... sorry .. typo ... :)

I can confirm now that your patch works fine on v3.67pl1....

Thanks again... we really needed this....

Jamey 10-17-2009 12:42 PM

Can we make this work per usergroup?

Cybershaolin 11-19-2009 11:18 PM

Any idea when this would be upgraded to work with 3.8.x? I think a few people would be happy to have this. BTW, this should be standard in vbulletin. I really don't understand why this setting is global. Permssions by usergroups would also be great, for sure.

Sayid 04-16-2010 01:01 PM

Please can someone upgrade this to 38x or vb4? I am sure most of people will need this small and awesome feature!

BadgerDog 04-16-2010 01:42 PM

I would love that as well ...

vb4 would be great ..

Found it very valuable ... :)

Badger

Os-T 06-11-2010 09:03 AM

Hi,

this is just what I need! Please update it for vB4!!!

Thx,
Os-T

Sayid 07-15-2010 07:20 PM

BTW, it works in 3.8 I mean the patch 1.3 version of this mod

not yet tested on vb4

suko22 11-18-2010 06:09 PM

1.3 Version installed in 3.8 vB and working fine.

Thanks for the work mates.

Yes, 1.3 work fine.
Once again an old note:
  • Version 1.3 none-official you can find in this post #1447697 in its attachment.
  • Version 1.2 doesn't work since 3.6.5.
  • Also there was a speech about vBulletin 3.6.7+ in post #1767090.
