I have the same problem as Tyegurl, the file is created under /forums/userbar/bars without any extension but the image is not showing, here is an example:

it's the rewrite that is acting up.

best to check the .htaccess in /userbar to see that it matches the specific requirements of your server.

If you have SEO stuff running exclude the userbar apps and files from being handled.

On the tyegurl server it's fixed by changing the .htaccess to

I want to release the next version as soon as possible.

Before I go ahead and play with this I need to know three things.

1) Will this have, or does it already have, support for custom fonts?
2) Can the final image be customize as far as sizing goes (I would like to offer something bigger than a 19px high siggy block)?
3) Is there support for server side hosted images to be used as a background?

Those would be the only things keeping me from using this just yet.

2. userbars have a clearly defined size and should not be considered as full blown signatures.

You can use any image as background as long as it's 350*19 as background. You can upload any image having that size.

maybe have a list of users who are using it in admincp. also have it remove there bar if the user gets banned.

I do have a tendency not to think about banned users as I love all my users :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

only other thing I can think of is to maybe have a small list of user bars that are already in a ftp folder they can chose from in a drop down to maybe use as a background. and possibly have it where say user 1 uploads a blank background it stores it in a folder so this way user 20 could possibly use that background also in the future. here is a few blank ones if you wish to do that. http://www.userbars.us/categories.php?cat_id=2 a few other things maybe for a user to be able to chose different color scan lines, different color text and have a few different overlays in which there could be a drop down and show which one there using kinda like on here http://userbarmaker.com/. last thing I could think of is some kinda hot link protection also.

I've done everything mentioned in all these posts and I've varified with my hoster that all requirements are on and active...but I still have the same issue mentioned above...I can see the bar just great when I'm making it, but then when I hit save and I'm redirected to the overview screen I get not bar...I see it all like shown above, but no bar...I just get the white box with an X in it...I have the bar name in the bar but no .png file. I even attempted the htaccess edit that you mentioned, but no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Just an update...12/20 For no reason (nothing changed) all is working fine now...its looking to the proper directory and finding the .png/.gif... so all is working now...thx

Any update on the non mod_rewrite version?

It just means you'll have to a URL in the navbar to point towards the application you just installed.

Just put that somewhere near the similar looking items like FAQ or Calendar

well so far i'm there i think got everything to work but when i create a tag it saved to it proper folder but i do get the url but no image is showing. in the forum I see that the imaged saved with no extension on it.

by the way i'm hosting my own server windows powered by abyss if that helps.No rewrite rule but was given a trick to get it to work for other adventure i had so i used it for this hack.:confused:

This is a great mod but unfortunately some of the plugins arent working for me.

I would really like the bf2 plugin to work.

As soon as I enter a player ID the image is lost.

What do you mean users can choose only one userbar? You can make up to 15 per user and simply put the various [img] tags around however many userbars you want to display in your sig area.

Maybe I am just missing it but is it possible to use the color gradients and then load an image as well?

Im trying to create a userbar that fades black to red. The text obviously starts at the right side but on the left id like an image. Its common in most user bars ive seen so I didnt know if I was just missing something.

I guess what I am saying is is it either gradients or a background image......but you cant have both?

There is also English Text in the Templates, if there is an Update the Phrases are Useless if using another Language.

How come you didnt used your logical instinct on that ?

If using Phrases, do all Text into Phrases.

The Style behavior (Buttons under the Input Fields) is also made damn bad.
Its like you wrote the code and hired a noob to add it to templates.

Something like this must be great, and not just half of great.

Personally I love the hack, its just a little buggy. I sure hope there is an update my users love it.

there was suppose to be a update cause they were asking for new features in dec. but nothing since then was ever said.
