EDIT: I have figured out the second part of my question, but the first part of the question, is still a mystery to me. I am using VB 6

The Setting ist in the Usergroup-Settings. ACP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> *Select Usergroup* -> Go -> Displayorder -> Displayorder

Thank you so much this was starting to annoy me. Jeez you would think that the author would give some sort of directions instead of just the installation. But now that I know how to order them Its all good. Thanks

putergirl 03-20-2007 12:20 AM

For some reason I do not have a Display Order in my usergroup manger under any rank. Has my board got a problem, or have I not installed this hack properly? Maybe you could tell me exactly what files go in what folders so I can double check that I've installed this correctly? Thanks so much. :)

I did, but my question to you was, where exactly do the files go.. you didn't give any specific instructions like some of the other coders, and being new to this, I only guessed where to put them.

Here's an example of what I mean:
Quote:

Step 1. Upload files
===================================

Upload everything inside the "upload" directory of the zip file to your forums.
mysmiliesvb.php => To your FORUM ROOT
class_dm_mysmiliesvb.php => To your FORUM_ROOT/includes
bitfield_mysmiliesvb.xml => To your FORUM_ROOT/includes/xml

deezelpope 03-21-2007 03:09 PM

You need to familiarize yourself more with your FTP before starting.

midlandi 03-21-2007 06:51 PM

ignore ive just found answer

I do know how to use my ftp. What has that got to do with it? I have about 20 other hacks installed... all I wanted was some clarification since he didn't give any, so I could double check that I did it right.

I just don't see how it could've been made any clearer by the coder where everything is supposed to go...pretty self-explanatory, really. And if you were more familiar with your FTP, you'd see this.

putergirl 03-22-2007 05:24 PM

If you would look clearly, and read clearly, you would see that the "example" I gave was for a different hack called mysmilies. So I guess what you are telling me in your rude way is that the example I gave is the same way to do this hack.

Not all hacks are installed in the same way. I have this hack installed, but I dont see what he says is there in the usergroup manager. So, I asked for clarification just to be sure I did it right, since he didnt include the instructions in his hack.

Being more familiar with my ftp has nothing to do with this other than the fact that you feel like pushing someone around because I was asking some questions.

deezelpope 03-22-2007 06:13 PM

I wasn't trying to be b*tchy initially, my apologies.

There's an easier way to do this, without having to download or upload anything...plus, you can put your usergroups in any order you wish.

1. First open your FORUMHOME template.

2. Find:
Code:
<div>$activeusers</div>

3. Above that add:

Code:
<em><strong>Legend:</em></strong>
<strong style="color:#COLORCODE">[MEMBERGROUP]</strong>
<strong style="color:#COLORCODE">[MEMBERGROUP]</strong>
<strong style="color:#COLORCODE">[MEMBERGROUP]</strong>

Repeat for all usergroups.

Thanks Alot Great Mod :D

Installed :D

Hi Surviver ... :)

Quick question......

The word "Legend" keeps changing color from time to time. It seems to be picking up and adopting the color of the last usergroup type who logged on?

Is there a simple way of forcing that word "Legend:" to stay BLACK?

Thanks

Regards,
Badger

A suggestion for future development consideration........ :)

When a user hovers his mouse over a member category in the Legend list, an optional link be made available, so the user can click on it and be taken to a thread that describes the meaning of that user category and pivileges....

Thanks

Badger

That's because it's a well written and useful addition to vBulletin ...

I find all of your mods similarly intuitive and add value like this.

Badger

Kinneas 05-13-2007 02:18 AM

This looks like a good hack, but for some reason the legend doesn't display correctly.

See below:

Surviver 05-13-2007 04:27 AM

set the displayorder in the sergroupsettings an actvate sorting of the usergrouplegend in the hackoptions.

Kinneas 05-13-2007 09:52 AM

I did, in fact that is a custom order right there.

Surviver 05-13-2007 01:02 PM

Works for me ...

Kinneas 05-13-2007 02:26 PM

I'm glad lol but as you can see from the attached image it does not for me. Any other ideas as to why this might be happening?

Kinneas 05-14-2007 01:48 PM

Ok fixed the collapse icon, changed width from 728 to 100% (Wouldn't it make more sense @ 100%? It would work for Fixed and fluid styles then), but still can't fix the font problem. It doesn't happen in firefox, only IE.

69lakalle 05-15-2007 01:07 PM
