which extensions can be played by shoutcast? i suppose all supported by winamp/WMP/QT but.. just to be sure :)

i need to plan the band usage in relation to file format (maybe i'll run AAC or similar to save bandwidth)

scast.php needs to be uploaded to:

/forums/includes/shoutcast/scast.php

Issue resolved however states server down working on her now In the Ip I put my Ip correct? Do we have to join shoutcast ect how do we get the feeds I think thats what Im missing

mine shows 9 not 19 songs.

this isn't working anymore. I have the correct IP and port and my SHOUTcast DNAS is up and connected through Winamp. It use to work, now it doesn't connect anymore, just keeps sayin "Currently our shoutcast server is down." "Shoutcast is Down". Ideas?

I will post this here also, triying to get to the botom of this and hoping peoplee look into their logs to see if they been exploited. The pointing of fingers can come later.

I know this is not fair to this great mod and I am not saying that it is the culprit. Just doing a process of elimination and starting from the last mods I installled prior to the problem.

This is a very basic hack to show shoutcast status.
- it is not the problem.

I have a mess of hacks installed in my site. With no problems of user Register.
- I'll take a look @ logs and see what I can find on my server.

Not many out there like to admit they are in error. :D

hi Zachariah.. i have a lil problem to solve with shoutcast... mu host currently don't let me to change chmod to scast_home.xml. I can set 'em to 666 only, and this would be enough but my server still appears to be down.. is possibile for you to let the product to use at least 666 instead of 777?

Hoping this is the real problem i have :(

just fyi, my shoutcast station is currently on air and a local test on http://localhost:8000/index.html says that all works good..

i attach a sshoot of my admincp, but i think i'm doin' right (i'v tryied to put http://my_IP and http://my_IP: port too)


[edit] just worked on it:
i attach a .pls file too (renamed to .txt to attach here).. you can hear my winamp playing so i suppose my should be able to shoutcast on my vB :)

i hope you'll understand where's my problem :)

How is the shoutcast server set up ?
- Installed on the same server as the webhost
- installed to remote server

There are a few web hosts that do not allow external request to other sites unless it is on port 80. Do you know if your host blocks access to probe other IP's on ports other than port 80 ?

Many hosts will give you a port you can use. You can take that port and re-setup the shoutcast server IP's.

Whats the IP and port of the server I can test if the script will reach it. (pm if you need it to be PRIV. )

I setup this up in admincp as follows

Server name My site
Server Ip My IP<
Server port 8000( and Yes I jsut know e mail my host to see if there was a problem)
server password???Dont understand(main problem) do we have to join shoutcast is this where this comes in to play?)
The rest I left at default!!

Hey that hack wont work. The radio isnt on port 80 however with the previous version of the hack for 3.5.x, it worked fine :s.

Please advice.

I'm getting the "server is down" problem. I've tried every single tip and suggestion in this thread, and nothing works. I do know that the xml file isn't getting updated, if that says anything.

Shoutcast if you dont know what you are doing avoid this junk! Period until you know what the heck is going on with shoucats winamp and all the above Im learning as I go anyone need help PM I WIll help ya get set up and its not that easy!!!

Ok 6 + hours later I did my part http://65.33.121.77:8000/listen.pls I got stream

Now please would someone tell me what values I have to enter on this hack in order for this to work PLEASE

ok so wassup with this? no reply to my comment b4. it's not working nomore and i have all the correct info in and correct things done in order for it to work. all of a sudden, it just stops working. i'll re-install and see if this works and get back

- This hack has nothing to do with setup of your shoutcast server.
It allows your to show song history and online status on a local/remote webserver.

There are a few hosts that do not allow external request to other sites for info unless it is on port 80. Do you know if your host blocks access to probe other IP's on ports other than port 80 ? Many hosts will give you a port open in their firewall to run applications. You can take that port and re-setup the shoutcast server IP's.

If your webhost, will not allow you to use ports other than 80 to get info from, then you need to set your shoutcast server to port 80.

- This hack has worked on my site since 2001, 24 hours 7 days a week.

I have tested the lite version of this hack that does not need a password to display the station and had no problems reading data from your server.

I would send a e-mail to your webhost asking for info.

Ok thats fine my host wont allow this?? So why use the hack??? When i can run it from my board without thats all Im saying install is easy and sets right up??

The link is the setup from shoutcast thats all, I sat in here for a week and finally heard from my host NO so I went to the source got it hooked up and running and have forum room for discussion the and subforum link to the radio bada boom bada bing???

No harm M8, your work is great!!! Plus now It works thats all i care!!

Also Not to sound like Prick if your going to support these hacks ??????? Im sure it would be nice if ya did and not wait a week??? But hey thats just me, thats why I said F this and went got it myself learned it hooked up and ran to my board Mate!!!! No harm!!
