I am sorry, if something has told not so. But it is not a spam, only my opinion concerning this.

Is anyone working on the issue of not parsing out the text inside quote tags correctly ? I've been at it for 3 days straight and i'm getting absolutly no progress!! so frustrating

Distance 12-12-2006 04:49 PM

Hey i checked this but if a user deleted the PM from there sent items it wont appear on the ACP list

Amiga Harrison 12-20-2006 11:53 PM

Thanks for this. It will be of use if I need to investigate abusive or SPAM related PMs on my forum.

And thanks to GeekDrew for the unserialisation fix. That was very useful.

Hornstar 12-21-2006 05:42 AM

Just wondering if this supports or will ever have the ability to support quotes.

If the OP or original author give me permission to release it, I've substantially modified the "Read PMs" script, fixing a few things, and just making it a little prettier. ;) My revised script doesn't make the posts "pretty", it uses plain text, but it does support quotes. I haven't had time to investigate how to properly parse quoted text.

well, you can still release here as an attachment your "modified" version and we can use the one we like! :D

Yep you can release your modification here if you want. I can then check your modifications and maybe fix the official one. If you don't want me using your modifications on the official script then don't release it though :P lol

tinjon 12-21-2006 07:42 PM

exporting PMs as txt or some other format would be nice.
please consider this option for next version.
kinda like the way you can download your PMs in 3 formats.
;)

Shazz 12-21-2006 08:01 PM

/me installs

TeddyKGB 12-29-2006 01:10 AM

Just kind of curious...is there something I can add/change to the XML file so that the "Read PM" option under Users is visible to only me? I realize on I can use it but I am considering promoting someone to admin and I don't want them to even realize it is there, I'd rather not uninstall this hack.

Thanks

Shazz 12-29-2006 02:41 AM

Nice thing of this hack is you don't uninstall or install you just add a file :D

ForumOrtami 12-29-2006 01:48 PM

very nice thanx :)

Nope. You can delete the xml file so you can access the script only by putting admincp/readpms.php in the browser's address bar.

bplinson 01-01-2007 05:34 PM

Works well with 3.6.4

5IVEO 01-01-2007 06:11 PM

marcsmith73 01-02-2007 12:03 AM

Everytime I click Read Pm ..I get this.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/salthub/public_html/admincp/read_pms.php on line 1

Download the file again. Upload it. See if it throws any errors before you edit it. Then, if you are going to edit it for any reason, edit it and then upload it again.

marcsmith73 01-02-2007 12:30 AM

Maybe I should have unzipped the file...what a dumbass. Thanks!!

Well have you ever done"latest X pm's"
and a bunch of them pop up, but if a user has deleted that PM, and it will still show up, it gives a database error since its been deleted but it still shows up as its there untill I guess schudle task does its thing

DementedMindz 01-04-2007 01:26 AM

its not doing that for me and i just deleted a few of my own pms to test it out.

Doglet 01-04-2007 02:06 AM

What is meant by super administrators in this context. I am administrator and can read the pms. There is no super administrator group?

Superadmins

Doglet 01-04-2007 04:11 AM

OK, so it is the one(s) with their userid number embedded in config.php.

I can be more than one, but yes, you've got the idea.

A0007 01-05-2007 04:02 AM

nice mod, thanks !

masterme 01-06-2007 11:36 AM

Installed, thanx!

iBaker 01-06-2007 07:53 PM

Great Mod - I needed this.

Just one suggestion - in the "Sent PMs for:" where it lists the PMs sent it says that it was from the user that you have selected example

(pmtextid 2438) - Re: The Oaks Tomorrow - from darrenmasters - 01-01-07 02:26 PM

- who sent it is known as you have selected that user but it would be a great help if it was who the PM was sent "To"

Just my 1c worth - great mod though

Kadi 01-10-2007 12:33 PM

Hi,

Very helpful mod. I'm having trouble with a pm abuser on the forum and I have a couple of questions before I install.

Will I be able to read past pms or just the ones sent after installation? Will I be able to view deleted pms? If a pm is viewed will it show as read to the member?

Question for who have installed: If there is a pm that violates your forum rules, what do you do? Delete it and warn the member? Any tips would be helpful.

Thanks

stwilson 01-14-2007 06:33 AM

Installed but cannot find the access to it under Users or via Options. What am I missing?
