See point 8 in the features list.

Hey Paul - thanks for the great mod.

One thing... it seems that it keeps resetting itself to " " (yes, blank) for the # of chatters and the date goes back to 1969.

Any ideas?

Paul M 10-10-2006 04:49 PM

Do you have CMPS installed ?

Yes I do... latest version.

Paul M 10-11-2006 12:46 AM

There is/was a CMPS module that is faulty and breaks the most ever counts.

BTW, this is not actually the most ever chatters support thread, I'll probably move these posts later.

Edit: It is the online users module - it's wrongly written and breaks the counts.

How can I change the description of "Members who are using flash chat" in the Whats going on area of the forumhome.

I have looked and looked lol

Thank you

Edit the phrase (using_flashchat).

I cannot find in the ACP the option to allow customized usergroups to see "who's in chat". Thx

Hmmm... I thought I was i the right thread. Could be my bad.

Anyway... I had problems getting the flashchat CMPS module to work and I turfed the module. So I reinstalled the Who-is-chatting.xml file and said to overwrite and it seems to be working fine now.

Uploaded a new version today that adds the option to disable the auto-template changes, and also edit the text the system looks for. This is something I will be eventually be adding to all my mods that use auto template injection - it should make it slightly easier for people with custom styles to get them working.

---MAD--- 10-14-2006 11:54 AM

cool.

smoknz28 10-14-2006 03:09 PM

Paul, first I'd like to thank you for all the time you put into your mod developments and sharing them with all of us who aren't so knowledgeable on coding. ;) The Flashchat integration and this add on is great!

A couple of questions for you however...

I had installed the Flashchat integration a couple of weeks ago and added on the Who's In Chat hack as well.

I've just updated my Who's In Chat mod however, I'm seeing something that I may not have caught before.

When I go into Manage Products, I see:

FlashChat Integration 3.06
Members who are using flashchat 4.34
Members who are using flashchat (Add-on) 1.01

Appears that there are two versions of "Members who are using flashchat". Is this okay or do I need to delete one?

Also, after the update, I noticed that on my main forum's page, guessing that would be forum home.....the Who's In Flashchat is no longer showing. However, on all the other pages it's viewable.

I'm running vB 3.6.1 and my forums is located at: www.f-bodyhideout.com/forums

Help on this is appreciated and once again Paul....thanks for sharing your work.

Mark

<i>Members who are using flashchat (Add-on) 1.01</i> is not something of mine, I'm not sure what that is atm.

should this have any affect on hook placement?

Paul M 10-14-2006 03:28 PM

Nope

It may have been included into the installation program of TUFaT's Flashchat.

Weird here....if I disable one or the other...the Who's In Chat will not function. I have to have both of them enabled in order for the Who's In Chat to display.

I'm going to uninstall both of them and re-install your version to see how things go. I'll report back on it.

Mark

smoknz28 10-14-2006 04:22 PM

Update:

Uninstalled both versions I had in my plugins. Reinstalled your version and no where on the forums is the Who's In Chat displaying.

Any ideas?

Oh, and I have confirmed with Darren at TUFaT that their software does add Who's In Chat as an integration. And it was v 1.01 that I mentioned earlier. I don't know what the difference between your hack and his is though.

You can find options in your ACP (Under All Settings - Forum Home Options) ... there you must give the right groupIDs who can view the chat-WOL.

Great plugin .. works like a charm ... TY **kiss**

Well I can assure you it didn't come from there, Tufat don't provide vb plugins.

I seem to recall giving someone permission to release a modified version of my hack that makes multiple database calls depending on where on the site you were, it's probably that. A quick search didn't find it - but I know it's around somewhere.

Per my email conversation with Darren at TUFaT. I was also asking about some issues I was having with my bots:

Quote:

hi Mark,

Yes, the whos in the chat is part of flashchat, however some users on the tufat.com forum have created specialized versions of this integration.

Regarding the bots, there was an update (4.7.5) that allows the bots to work if the PHP open_basedir restriction is in effect. That may have been the case on your server.

Darren

Thanks....yea, took a look in there as well. The hack is enabled and the following groups can view it: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. I even changed the groups to 0. The path location is correct. I have it in a subfolder of my forums (forums/chat)...so in the box I just have chat.

I don't know why it's not showing up.....

Paul M 10-14-2006 08:03 PM

Tufat provide a generic who's in chat, which is what he is referring to.

smoknz28 10-14-2006 08:27 PM

Thanks Paul and PIKenPIK, are there any other areas I can check on my forums to see why this hack isn't working?

Paul M 10-14-2006 08:36 PM

What forums are you referring to, because I can see it on the forum listed in your profile.

Well then....you have got one on me....because I've opened up both my IE and Firefox and I don't see it.

Forums are at: www.f-bodyhideout.com/forums

I also updated to the latest version of Flashchat just in case. Then I had reinstalled your hack....and still nothing.

Just my luck.....

Paul M 10-14-2006 09:29 PM

Okay, there must have been another hack I added to make the Who's In Chat visible under the navbar on all pages. Darn.... Can't recall where I found that at either. That must have been the 1.01 version that I found on my plugins.

I'm so sorry.... I will continue searching where that other hack is at.

Thank you all,
Mark

smoknz28 10-14-2006 09:45 PM

I found the hack that I added to show the Who's Chatting box moved to the top of the forums on all the pages.

Here it is: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ho+is+chatting

jw00dy 10-16-2006 07:14 PM

The mod that moves it to the top, doesn't work on this latest version. I'm going to post something over on that other thread, to see if he can give us an update.

jw00dy 10-16-2006 07:16 PM

Never mind, you beat me to the punch. I don't have the old version though, so I'm stuck at this point.

Alfa1 10-21-2006 08:41 PM

Often one or more members appear to be in the chat, but when one logs in to the chat, there is no one there. Or even worse; it seems as the member(s) leave just as one comes in. Is there a fix for this?

Paul M 10-21-2006 10:17 PM

You would need to ask Tufat that, that's a 'feature' of how flashchat works

AdamW 10-23-2006 03:55 PM

Hi,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am trying to add flashchat to my forums. www.pacersnation.com

I have uploaded the XML file to the admincp file of my forums, and I have gone to the Forum Listing Display Option and I am not seeing the option show up for me to turn this on.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you

Paul M 10-23-2006 07:20 PM

When you say "uploaded", what did you do exactly ?

AdamW 10-23-2006 09:15 PM

I uploaded the XML file into the "public_html", "forums", "admincp" folder

Paul M 10-23-2006 09:30 PM

No, delete that.

Quote:

Unzip the XML and import into vB using the ACP Product Manager.
In the ACP > Plugins & Products > Manage Products > Add/Import Product.

AdamW 10-23-2006 10:45 PM

Done and Done.

Thanks :)

I'm sorry....just saw your post.

Do you want me to send you the older version so you can get this up and running?

I may miss this....so just email me if you would like it: webmaster@f-bodyhideout.com
