Okay. I got it. I added an inclusive div tag with aligned right. Changed the table to 95%. Can't use centered, because then some of the small word text will escape up into the right-hand margin. Yuk.

Then just made sure the correct table cells for the quote and msg were left aligned.

Well, it's another good idea ! lol You're giving me a lot of job to do ;) But it's late in France and i'm really tired. Time to go to bed :)

P.S : Don't bother to change templates. I understand what you want and i will work on it. Just please wait.

Yes, thankyou, because my little mods look great in IE and FF, but suck in Opera!! Yikes!

I have the problem as b6 has described. The default text color is set to black however in one one my styles the text color is being overwtitten to Grey or White making the text almost unreadable in every BB quote style. What setting outside of your mod would handle that variable overwite? I've looked everywhere i can think of and cannot find it.

craiovaforum 08-06-2006 10:21 PM

The problem is fixed for 2-3 hours, but i'm waiting to have finished all the "To Do List" before to release it :)

cclaerhout 08-07-2006 02:41 PM

As promised :

-07/08/2006 : version 1.23 released ; new options available : Link to profil, Left margin, Text color and some Special behaviour for quotes of light, dark and pastel sets. Text color problem for some styles corrected. To update, just import xml product file and upload pictures (there are new ones)

cavyspirit 08-07-2006 03:03 PM

Installed per instructions. Now I'm getting a blue background on the bottom left graphic. I tried installing the javascript hack that is supposed to get rid of that in IE, but it's still there.

Is the different color quote for referenced quotes supposed to work on existing quotes?

Nevermind about that. I had to add the config settings and revert the template change I had made.

But I'm still getting a blue background on the lower left graphic.

cavyspirit 08-07-2006 03:20 PM

Also, I had added a style called quotefont. Because using the smallfont style was too small for me.

cavyspirit 08-07-2006 03:26 PM

Here's what I have now with my larger quote font.

FunaGuy 08-07-2006 03:40 PM

Updated !

cavyspirit 08-07-2006 03:59 PM

I replaced the 01n3 graphics with the ones from your earlier release and they look fine.

Well, i've looked if i had made an error, but i've found nothing. Everything is working fine, even with the IE png transparency hack installed. Pictures in the archive are the same than thoses on my ftp. Please next time, edit your message and do not reply if the message above is yours.

But thanks to you, i look the new gif files i include in the archive... They are not pretty. I'm going to correct this.

cclaerhout 08-07-2006 05:07 PM

Archive updated with nicer gif pictures ;)

I'm not sure what the archive is or how to get to it? Do you mean the zip download file?

Kaleem 08-07-2006 09:56 PM

Thanks for this :)

Scooterpig 08-07-2006 10:27 PM

New version working fine thank you very much..:)

Another option you could add in future version if possible is to show the text inside the bbcode box in bold...:)

Yes, the zip archive, the zip file... is my english so bad ? :knockedout:.

For the bold option, i don't think i'm going to do it. You can easily edit the product file and add bold tags.

Oliver-Berlin 08-08-2006 11:05 AM

Nice Thanks :rolleyes: :)

proxus 08-08-2006 06:16 PM

Update installed and this has fixed my text color issue on dark styles. Thanks for the changes. Great mod.

Virtex-II 08-08-2006 06:29 PM

How can I increase font size of the text?

cavyspirit 08-08-2006 10:45 PM

Create a new user-defined class in your css file.

Here's mine:

.quotefont {
font-size: 15px;
}

Change the BBcode template to quotefont from smallfont where it refers to the actual message. I also removed the italics because some the referenced text was in italics for a reason, and putting the whole message in italics when it's referenced loses some of the readability.

You COULD also add bold BUT, personally, I would advise against it as some of your referenced text would be bold for a reason and you would lose that.

Thanks for your time...Do I have to change the original bbcode_quote or the brand new bbcode_quote_xxxxx added by this mod?

I changed the new versions that I use or might use. In my case, light and dark.

Hi cclaerhout, I reworked some code from your mod so that no PHP file edits are needed. Let me know if it's okay for me to post the product XML file.

adonfun 08-12-2006 11:47 PM

I just installed the hack. When changing the margin it works. I have added the 4 codes within class_bbcode.php and uploaded it but somehow it doesn't show he quotes as it should be. It only shows the regular quote screen of vBulletin.

What am I doing wrong?

I also don't quite understand what is meant by styles in your hack..How do I know which is what style?

Thank you :)

That's the problem ;) The fastest way to have your style id is the following :

Go in admincp->Styles & Templates->Style Manager
When you put your mouse over your styles, it will display a link at the bottom of your browser. This link will be written like this :
Code:

http://www.yourwebsite.com/forum/index.php?styleid=45
The last number (45 in this exemple) is the id of this style

Here a screenshot (in french) of the BBcodemanager options when you've got many styles

I think he's waiting for Calorie to post the xml he made, that's what's going to make it the new version so he needs that first. That's what I understood from the posts anyways. :)

I installed this, worked great!
I changed the graphics slightly though, to suite the forum scheme better (for my forum's scheme at least).

Nice addon!! :)
