There is a problem with this hack. When a member tried to view the private message "click on the Preview Message botton", the message will be sent directly. So, he/she cannot view it before sending it. Is there a way to fix this? :(

Nice hack, thanks

installed on 3.6.4 and all is fine.. however all users decided not to send PMs today :) so I am not sure how it is gonna be

one problem though.. I don't like to see the opion in ModCP for 2 reasons, rasing questions and chance of abuse

any chance to leave it in AdminCP only?

Yes, you can simply:
1. put the PHP file in the admincp folder
2. change the path of that file in XML file(s)

but I have one question: do you have the same problem that I have:

Is there a way to exclude PMs sent/received from/to some usergroups?
I get a lot of filtered pm sent to me (admin).

i am having problems backing up my database because of a table called pm_moderation.
can you tell me how to remove this as phpmyadmin will not do it.

I have installed this hack in 3.6.5. everithing looked fine but when i tried to "approve" the message from the admin cp i got this error message:

i was having a problem backing up my database because of this mod i kept getting errors.
the product would not install, because it said the table was unknown or that the was nor info in the table (empty). so i had to edit the product so it did not remove the table just the product but no i get a server error in phpmyadmin and vb backup so i can only think this is down to this table. can you tell me how i can force the deletion of this table???

It seems like I get duplicates of pm's in the moderation queue. Today, there was about 10 of the same pm, and I'm 100% sure the sender did not accidentally press send 10 times. Anyone know of a fix?

I hope someone else (coder) can take over this hack and implement these features:

- apply moderation to certain usergroups only
- mass approve / disapprove check box
- ajax preview (tooltip / hover over icon??)

I see that ther is no Reiceipt in the personal message. (The field "Receipt(s)" is empty)

Thats because no "your PM has been sent to XXX" is shown to the user, and he believes that the PM was not sent, so he writes it again and send it.

The truth is that the pm was sent, but this Filter does not tell the user that it was sent.

Are you sure? Today, I found the same copy of the pm literally about 150-175 copies. Are you going to tell me this [good respectful] member sent it about that many times?

508 duplicates today. Tell me the person sat there and resent it 507 times additionally.

I have to sit there and manually check each one, 508 times because there is no "check all" to reject or approve option.

Is there any way of making the keyword filter extend to pm titles too ?

If I put "Register at http://www.myforum.com/forums" in the pm then the filter blocks it but if I have the pm title as "Register at http://www.myforum.com/forums" then it bypasses the filter and goes straight to the user unmoderated

Any way that the filter can put pm titles in the queue too ?

Im having this error on top of pm qeue in admincp.

Heres line 290: $matched[$keyword] = substr_count(strtolower($clean_messagetext), trim(strtolower($keyword)));

Great hack, I like the fact you didn't put a message "Your PM has been put in the moderation queue" when sending a PM. Spammers should be attacked silently.

For those who oppose the hack, it's not unethical. Encrypt PM's if you worry about privacy.
