It works fine but I just need to display the page views for today. Can you please explain more in step #5 ? I seem not to get what you mean.
|
You need to creats a schuduled task and run it...
and in your templates just put '$pageviewstoday' in. |
that was my question, how to creat a schuduled task ?
thanks. |
lol...
Log into your admincp and you should see a 'Schuduled tasks' section. Expand it then click add new schuduled task... |
I did create the task, run it and add $pageviewstoday' in the template but still shows the same count.
Have a look please. |
run it again.
|
Just did more than once. I really cant discover out what's the problem.
|
make sure your file is set CH MOD 777 for your counter text files.
|
Thanks a lot sir for your time. It works fine now.
|
Glad to see that you got it working :)
|
nice!

thanks
*Too bad you forgot to really click install :P* |
Hi there
must be something im doing wrong here but my counter is going up in multiples of 2 any ideas, thanks |
well there must be a something that is calling your global.php twice.
|
here's my error
Warning: Unknown(./counter/counter.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /global.php(349) : eval()'d code on line 146 Fatal error: (null)(): Failed opening required './counter/counter.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/lucky123/public_html/global.php(349) : eval()'d code on line 146 did I miss a step? I uploaded 3 files to public html then added the plugin then changed the footer |
I have installed this three times and I am still not able to see anything.
|
I'm afraid to try again!!
the other 2 plugins worked just fine (countdown, tic tac toe) |
put the file in a folder named counter.
(I will be upgrading this hack to 3.6, when i do ill also let you track your totoal unique page views) |
I am having a very odd problem.
I setup the corn job to run per your instructions. Title="Page Views" Day of the Week=* Day of the Month=* Hour=23 Minute=59,-,-,- Log Entries=Yes Filename=./counter/counter_daily.php Note I never see it in the log BUT the next time is always updated in the Scheduled Task Manager view. So what's the problem, it doesn't update (copy to yesterday_count.txt and reset count.txt to ZERO) with the normal cron job, BUT if I click "Run Now" in the Scheduled Task Manager view it runs just fine and updates the files. Also note ALL of my other cron jobs work just fine... Any thoughts? |
take a screen shot of your schudled task list (showing the hit counter one)
|
I was out of town, attached is my main manager screen & the Page View job.
|
Simple and Great.
/me Clicks Install Thank you. |
great hack Installed on3.5.4 Zero Issues
Thxs Mate! Ober |
my counter counts for every page seen.
|
I love this hack. Do you think you could write it so it gives you the totals today, this week, this month and then the total number?
Thanks, Parker |
