Log into your admincp and you should see a 'Schuduled tasks' section. Expand it then click add new schuduled task...

I did create the task, run it and add $pageviewstoday' in the template but still shows the same count.
Have a look please.

Just did more than once. I really cant discover out what's the problem.

make sure your file is set CH MOD 777 for your counter text files.

well there must be a something that is calling your global.php twice.

did I miss a step?

I uploaded 3 files to public html then added the plugin
then changed the footer

I have installed this three times and I am still not able to see anything.

I'm afraid to try again!!

the other 2 plugins worked just fine (countdown, tic tac toe)

put the file in a folder named counter.

(I will be upgrading this hack to 3.6, when i do ill also let you track your totoal unique page views)

I am having a very odd problem.

I setup the corn job to run per your instructions.

Day of the Week=*
Day of the Month=*
Hour=23
Minute=59,-,-,-
Log Entries=Yes
Filename=./counter/counter_daily.php

Note I never see it in the log BUT the next time is always updated in the Scheduled Task Manager view.

So what's the problem, it doesn't update (copy to yesterday_count.txt and reset count.txt to ZERO) with the normal cron job, BUT if I click "Run Now" in the Scheduled Task Manager view it runs just fine and updates the files.

Also note ALL of my other cron jobs work just fine...

Any thoughts?

my counter counts for every page seen.

I love this hack. Do you think you could write it so it gives you the totals today, this week, this month and then the total number?

Thats the point. It counts how many pages that have been viewed.

I dont see myself adding to this hack becuause i have no time. Summer school and alot of other things.
