It would be great if it includes IPs at the time members login 2 or more accounts

I am having the same problem. I have the current file installed and still get the "multiplelogin_alert" as the whole content of the post. Also should the product be version 1.02? Because the one available for download is version 1.01.

Redownloading and reinstalling the product seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks for the great hack. :)

Hi peeps

I really need this to be like the original you posted...that one showed a lot of info on who they are cloned with and so on, this plugin is about as much use as a banana in a cinigog lol

its better the way it is now. in my opinion.

As of this attached file this is now a setting to have either the triggered user post the thread or the what is configured under AE Sender configuration option.

The attached file should fix the multiplelogin_alert being the content of the new thread alert.

As i have not be able to test as i dont have a board install that is active to be able to test this out

SO BE FORWARNED I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS.

The phrase is under global phrases for those who want to customize it.

Thanks

bashy 02-20-2006 04:52 PM

You can edit this by going to

AdminCP -> Languages & Phrases -> Phrase Manager -> search in phrases -> enter the following with out "'s "multiplelogin_alert" and click on phrase variable name only

then click on edit that phrase

also you can edit the phrase in the XML file before importing

you can search for

Code:

<phrase name="multiplelogin_alert"><![CDATA[{1} seems to have multiple personalities using {2} sharing the same computer. No soup for you! and you! and you!]]></phrase>
and edit
Code:

{1} seems to have multiple personalities using {2} sharing the same computer. No soup for you! and you! and you!
the {1} and {2} are dynamic and added in the phrase which are the user name and multiple users that have been detected.

Thanks

Seems to work as designed thus far...granted, I kicked it off myself so take that with a grain of salt ;)

Kudos to whoever worked on this. Nice work.

I was able to get it to post in an admin forum with the alert but sending a PM to the admin (me) isn't working. I have my main admin account and a test account that I logged in with.

Do you possibly have it setup for the AE Sender setup as the user you want the PM Sent to. As it will not send a PM to itself.

I can make this an option to have it setup where it will either send the PM as triggered user or specified user in settings like i do with the threads.

NOTE to MPDev:

Sorry if you feel if i hi-jacked your thread / mod. If you would like me to continue to send you updates and have you update the thread with them as i have before the last update i posted lemme know and i will do so.

Thanks

For those of you who would like the original method / hack

i have converted everything back to the way they were. Re-Created the template. and have kept alot of the settings. i just commented out the code that i pretty much added in to support the new features.

still has the settings for the main system and everything else.

Thanks

I'm not even sure what you mean. All I did was install the mod as it was downloaded. I made no changes outside of removing the option that says to not have this report specific userid's (i.e. the admin account). My main username is the Administrator account. I also have a second username for testing purposes. When logging in with both, I did not get a PM sent to me. When I changed it to create a new thread in a specific forum, that worked.

I'm going to try this later tonight but what are all the differences that everyone wants? What was in the original that this update now includes? Thanks!

That's probably what happened to me. I'd forgotten that little detail.

Working as it should be now 100%
thanks boss :)

i was trying to ask if you had the it configured as the user to send that sends the alert / posts the thread in admin forum as the user that is not getting the PM. As vBulletin will not send a PM to itself.

The differences are ability to ignore userid's & groupid's, post to a thread, added config options in admincp, ability to either send PM / Post thread as triggered user or as a set user ("Configured in AdminCP Options") and there might be a few others that i cant think of off the top of my head right now.

Thanks

pantec 02-26-2006 02:08 AM

I am using this and it works great!

One thing I would like to know...

Can you add a piece of code to actually delete the user(s) from the VB/DB when AED runs?

I have a very strict site and I would like to add this to the code.

They can always register again... maybe a bit wiser.

VBUsers 02-28-2006 03:10 AM

im not recieving my PMs , is there a reason why?

MPDev 02-28-2006 12:56 PM

Shouldn't be if you have all your items configured properly in the Admin Options...

I don't plan an autod-delete, I think that would be too dangerous to implement and possibly prone to mistakes (like when two people actually share a computer to access the same site as often happens).

yea cause my issue is i dont get the PMs and neither does my staff that i have added by name

and

i keep getting threads in my staff section by the people that have 2 usernames but that we have allowed for theyre reasoning. what do i do. i dont want to keep making threads over and over. i would rather have 1 thread made and thats it or 1 pm. what am i doing wrong?

thc34 02-28-2006 04:23 PM

thank you

luroca 03-01-2006 05:56 PM

This is one of the more useful hacks I have instaled.

Thanks very much.

Skittles 03-03-2006 02:01 PM

Could this modification be altered so that the cookie is cleared once the system has been triggered?

That way it would send another PM/post another thread if the user continues to log in with different accounts.

Ghanem 03-04-2006 01:22 AM

I am sorry.. its not working..
not sending PM msgs, not creating threads..
its a fresh install of the script, I am using VB 3.5.4
What could be the prb :(

It should do this already as it doesnt keep track of whether it has already triggered an alert or not.

Thanks

XFSImperial 03-04-2006 06:30 PM

Installed. Works great, already got somebody.

guvner 03-04-2006 07:39 PM

Works a charm on 3.5.4 :)

One suggestion/request, my install is set to start a new thread instead of PMing me to ensure that my team are advised as well. But after a few events in the last 48 hours all the new threads are starting to annoy my guys a little, and also unless we delete the threads (and lose the info) we'll have the records scattered throughout our forum.

Would it be possible to have the script add a new post to a nominated thread instead of creating a new thread every time, that way we keep a single record of all events and keep the forum tidy?

Thanks - Mike :)

This is something im looking into and have thought of for this exact reason as i completely understand that its completely anyoing.

The only problem is how this would keep record of what threadid the alert trigger'd thread has created.

Thanks
